I am an active, athletic 69 year old woman who takes no medications. Six months ago I got a bacterial sinus infection. I told my doc that the pain seemed to start in a tooth and extended into sinus. She ignored that and prescribed a broad spectrum antibiotic. I asked her to take a swab, culture it, and prescribe a targeted antibiotic and she was annoyed at the suggestion and dismissed it, saying "we don't do that anymore." I'm a former animal farmer/breeder and my suggestion is standard for veterinary medicine. I asked how one could get a bacterial sinus infection and was told a fairy tale of how I probably had a narrowed channel from one sinus area to another. Based on no evidence of any kind. If that was the case I would have gotten bacterial sinus infections all my life. I did not. Three months later I got another bacterial sinus infection and chose to see a different doctor. Again mentioned the pain started in a tooth and asked for a swab and targeted antibiotic and again the doctor seemed offended and dismissed the idea. Two months later gums began to bleed, nasty taste in mouth, tooth felt strange to my tongue. Emergency appointment requested at dentist who said "we don't do that" and gave me an appointment in six weeks for a cleaning before I would be allowed to be seen by a dentist (I have a very good tooth hygiene regimen and all my own teeth). Five days before appointment I called the dentist back and chewed them out and said "get me in right now". They were angry and snooty but complied. Tooth was broken in two, abscessed, bone infection, bacterial infection spread to sinus. They gave me a very powerful antibiotic specifically for bone infection which carried a warning of "very rarely resulting in C-diff." Later research ON MY PART reveals that this antibiotic almost guarantees C-diff. Tooth pulled, bone infection cleared up, but I got C-diff. Nothing but blood and slime coming out, saw a new recommended doc who listened to me and has been very good, but did not prescribe fidaxomicin. I demanded a referral to a gi specialist who did fecal transplants. New doc put in that request but advised me to go ahead with vancomycin immediately. I did my research and consulted one of two licensed nutritionists in my family and found fidaxomicin was recommended -- but my nutritionist also advised to go ahead with vancomycin while pursuing naturopathic treatment. Had been looking for a naturopath for years, but no naturopath within 200 miles. However, just before tooth was pulled, naturopath moved into my remote rural town! I seem to be getting better. I always take probiotics but now taking triple the amount and specific probiotics used for C-diff recovery, also Oregano Oil and Swedish Bitters and Grapefruit Seed extract. Had new fecal tests and another scheduled in 2 months. looking good so far. Eat very little bread but now eat none and no refined sugar and only 4 ounces of goat milk per day. Don't try and lecture ME on overuse of antibiotics. I was blocked every step of the way by doctors who treated me with contempt and ignored everything I said or asked for. This is on the doctors and dentist. I am sending a link to your lecture to my new allelopathic doc. My Naturopath already knows this stuff.

Hello i am 24 years old and have klebsiella and Enterococcus in my urine. My urologist said i have a weak bladder and those two bacteria are asymptomatic bacteriuria. I have uti symptoms which are frequent urination and urgency. Are these two bacteria causing the symptoms ?

Hello , I have a question, women 54 y.o, had urinary infection with urine culture ( S. Aureus) and the same time she has pain in the articulation ( foot and knee) so for the urinary infection she was treated with Ciprofloxacina and she become well and the symptoms of urinary infection have disappeared, but she has blood culture with (S. Aureus) and MSSA but also its sensitive to Augmentin ( Amoxicillina ac.clavu). So my question if she can be treated with amoxicillin ac.clavu like first line or she should be treated with cefazolina?
