So young. Shinji was just a boy. Just a child. His theme always serves as a stark reminder of this. This was a child with the weight of the world on his shoulders. A poor and lonely child with the fate of the world resting on him.

This song not only perfectly reminds me of Evangelion and Shinji, I think it also explains without a single word what life is.

This melody is also used for My Country Tis of Thee and God Save The King, but one of the oldest compositions is an Anthem called Remember, O Thou Man. Look it up, it's interesting in the context of EVA and Shinji specifically.

This is something American fans will never hear, Hollywood prefers darker edgier themes. If I ever got to direct a Godzilla movie, this would be the G-man’s theme.
