    Holy crap. I'd thought it would be easy. Mine just went on the passenger side today. I'd rather do it myself than take it to Canadian tire or my local oil change place. Hmmmm.

    What make of bulb does everyone use that aren't garbage like Philips or Sylvania?

  • @maxpower8916
    @maxpower8916 11 месяцев назад

    What exactly were the engineers who designed this nightmare sniffing that day? These are bulbs. They burn out. So you would think it would be made easy to do but no. Have to go through a procedure from hell and not even a basic screw for the air filter. Thanks GM engineers. Just keep going with that incompetence.

    If you got man hands like me and this dude then this is the least annoying way to do it. If you got lady hands this is likely not necessary.

    I just use a wooden wedge from a piece of firewood to flex filler neck back after one bolt removal. Gives enough access to get low beam.

  • @cdncycler

    I used my battery-operated impact drill to remove the battery tray's bolts. I used needle-nosed pliers to remove the old light from the headlight lens. I placed the newly connected light bulb into the light bulb holder and put it back into the lens. I then reconnected the wired plug back into the bulb holder. I found doing it this way less of a struggle of putting back into the lens as per in the video.

    Good video. Kinda what I thought when I looked at it. I miss the days when it was a sealed beam, glass headlight. Never had fogged up plastic lenses in those days. Gotta love technology. 😊

    just did my driver's side without removing a thing. 2013. 2 minutes. Just reached up and twisted clockwise to loosen harness, pull the harness out, replace the bulb, and squeeze/feed harness back through, twist back on. No need to remove anything.

    Smart idea for people who don’t have an auxiliary battery installed. Very worth it, what I don’t understand is the dislikes from some. Maybe because they haven’t thought of it when they needed it 😂

    You don’t have to do any of that you can just stick your hand in there Twista bowl to the side pull it out and replace without unscrewing anything I’ve done it more than four times

  • @jtrollonhateit
    @jtrollonhateit 3 года назад

    Waste of time. Just take out the ONE 10mm bolt holding the washer fluid neck in place. Bend the neck back. Remove the bulb. Remove. Replace. Done. Why remove 9 bolts when 1 will do?

  • @wildhog3217
    @wildhog3217 3 года назад

    The manufacturers are either stupid or it's designed that way so most would have to pay someone or a dealer to do it for a ridiculously high price ($$$) by design. Not user friendly, big propaganda. The passenger side is almost as hard. I also have a 2002 GMC Sierra and that one is a breeze to replace. Thanks for sharing.

    Just replaced both sides on my 2013 Sierra. Driver side I didn't take out any bolts. Passenger side I took the top cover off thr air filter box. That was it. Why do all the extra removal ?

    Good job, thanks gm for wrecking a good design, this use to take 2min. Anyone attempting this in cold weather be careful pulling on the widow washer tank, they are brittle when cold and might crack.

    • @paulb9376
      @paulb9376 3 года назад

      This holds true on a Mazda CX-7. I replace the bulbs once a season, there’s a noted design flaw, and they have a stupid clip style retaining the bulb. If the damm car wasn’t so good to me I’d get rid of it just for that reason. What a pain in the ass
