Did she say Starbucks Cup? That is the problem, you violated Etsy's terms, you can't use someone's trademark, brand or copyrighted name. If it is not yours, you can not use their logos, names, slogans, songs, designs, lyrics. Sellers do not realize Etsy can be sued because the pleintif will go after the big money not the seller's little money.

Hello there! I have watched so many videos on this subject. I really enjoyed watching and thank you so much for sharing your experience with Etsy. I have been selling on Esty platform for 4 years now and recently Etsy has deactivated 3 of my popular products! I am so, so salty 😤😤 that Etsy has done to me! I've had a Shopify account for approximately 5 to 6 months not activated. But, after Etsy deactivated my products and I know more to come. I finally woke up out of my dream that .... Etsy will never do this me! Boy was I wrong. Anyway my shop is coming together and I do plan on activating my shop end of May/June 1st 2023 Again thank you so much for sharing video. Evelyn.

I just have my new shop open with ETSY and 3 days later they suspended it and I waited for 2 weeks still no response back from them or reopen my shop. I have joined many other services to start my POD. But now I paid for other services for doing nothing. What a joke with ETSY. Now I wasted around $100 and made a listing with 30s items for nothing. Losing hope with ETSY every day...

Support system doesn't respond to tickets, all they do is send automated replies and then ignore you forever. You should hit me up for help permanent recovery.

Unfortunately Etsy does not improve in the treatment of its users. The same thing happened to me about a week ago. I made a sale and two days later I entered and my account was suspended. I check the email and no message about it, they even sent me messages of discounts on products, etc. and I was shocked! I tried to communicate which was super difficult. I had to talk to customers to report the situation. He still had some orders to ship. i did everything right and my account is still suspended for no reason and no care.

After watching so many people say that their Etsy accts. were banned or suspended for whatever reason, I still don’t know why Esty would think it’s professional to wait more than 1 day to let a business owner (who relies on their BUSINESS & INCOME) know what’s going on. And they need to stop sending people confusing automated messages.

Came here after working a week on setting up 100 listings, to then this morning get a "unable to log in" message, and that was it! Not even a mail or warning or whatever, sencerely agitated by Etsy to sell or buy ever again. Great video, GL with your buiseness.

Etsy needs a competitor that won't ban people for no reason. All those banned would join up straight away.

You don't have a "brand" if it's using other peoples' brands to make money! It's illegal!!! What is it you guys don't get?! They will shut down your shop no matter where you are. You can't sell/use other peoples' property!!

All these "why I got banned" videos - WTF. You STOLE other peoples' property!! Using logos, words, symbols, etc. from other peoples' intellectual property and you will get BANNED! You are not safe having your own website, BTW - they will come after you and shut you down, sue you, and they have a right to confiscate your illegal items. They will shut you down at craft sales, too, and TAKE YOUR ITEMS. I can't believe the stupidity. This is not an ETSY issue. They are required to take you down if asked by the owners of those brands and properties. Don't blame Etsy. Blame the makers for stealing other peoples' property.

Etsy was a disaster, for misunderstanding they shut my shop resulting into serious depression to the point of committing suicide. It was the only source for me to earn money online which I was doing good. Even after submitting proof of my innocence, they didn't care. I wonder they believe in Karma because the company has accumulated heaps of curses.

how can etsy pull in billions of dollars but have no tech support? you actually can never speak to a human. the only reason they are making the money is because of the shop owners.

Almost the same thing happen to me .they don’t care I think they did this in porpoise .i was selling and then somebody buy and cancelled in minitus other buy and canceled them 3 the same like somebody was joking .... and them they suspended

So at about 2:45 minute mark in this video you explained your Etsy Store order asked for eight custom Starbucks cups. What?!?! How long had you been selling an obvious infringement item? Why not sell dark green coffee cups? Now that you have your own website, I would be more careful....as now you are personally liable for infringement. Etsy was a buffer for your lack of knowledge. If Starbucks believes you make enough money to sue you personally you are in serious financial trouble. When your Shopify store receives a "cease and desist" from an Attorney, you will have to stop. Literally. Or the attorney's will find your assets, then put a bank lein against anything you own. It's no joke. You are playing with a giant. Starbucks will hurt you more than Etsy.

That is so true about people saying they got it on Etsy. They will mention the name after but more than likely it would come after.

Sorry to hear that they banned you on Etsy, but it’s understandable they did so. After all, selling “Starbucks” branded stuff is not legal, is it? I know everyone’s doing it already on Etsy, but I wouldn’t risk it. Happy to hear you have a website, I have one as well and use Etsy to complement my sales. Love from the UK! ❤️🇬🇧

Great video!! Really inspiring, especially for etsy sellers. I just lost my account on etsy permanently and after watching this video I really want to leave the platform and branch out on my own. Seeing you do it definitely gave me the encouragement that I can do it, and be successful doing it as well.

shopify was amazing for us. We cut off our etsy account.. Definitely scary because we had a good fan base. Would never look back.
