Who ever wrote the script for that lift off from the Moon, sure stuffed up. This guy would have thousands of hours flying time, and the last thing he would have been thinking was about the ride. WHAT A RIDE, what a stupid thing to have him say.

This Video was sent to me recently with the statement, "The marketing for Glen Innes has begun". Crazy to spend money to advertise for students to learn to fly at a non existent facility. The video is more designed to encourage the Glen Innes Council to continue to support their exaggerated proposal. Have a look at the link for the Video for the failed venture at Gunnedah, from 20th July 2008. ...

Can't bet better than Aussie bush ballad.
There's a lot of wisdom in this song..!!
God bless Stan Coster
This stupid shaped moon lander had an engine with 10,000 lb thrust, but it never made any dust, The foot print Armstrong supposedly left on the moon when he stepped down, has a different pattern to the one Nasa has on display, that they say Armstrong wore. There are no pictures of Armstrong entering the command module after he left the moon. Also there are no stars in any pictures taken from the moon, that someone using a sextant could work out where they were taken from. It's all bullshit they never landed on the moon.

Good old stan
I love Burl Ives, I discovered him through "holly jolly christmas" in Regular Show, when I was 13. I then listened to some other songs of him, then more, then more... that way I downloaded like 50+ songs. I love every single one of them. This guy was so prolific, he's sung many different styles, always with an amazing quality and voice performance. I may have never known him while he was alive, or disagree with many of his opinions (I'm an atheist for example), but I love his music and will listen to his songs till I set a foot in the grave. Burl Ives 2021, and forever!
Yes he certainly was one of the Best, if not the best Bush Ballad writer Australia had ,bless him ,we are Lucky that his daughter Tracey is still carrying on with Stands work , Stan & Slim were the best & Great friends , their Ballads are left in good hands, regards Trevor.W.Bacelli.
Can't believe the GISC fell for this con.
Is this Academy open?
No it was a con, never eventuated.
Norma is still writing and recording...a truly great entertainer.
Save Glen Innes from GISC, in answer to the AAFT or GIRA which are the same, you are correct it was meant to be a goer back in 2013-2014. The GISC applied for grant funding from the NSW Business Development and received Grant Funding to fund the infrastructure out to the Airport, water etc. They stated in their initial submission that they had funding from a UK source, which never did eventuate. They delayed the start any development by stating they had not received CASA approval. They already had CASA approval, so this was not a true statement. They employed BDM Constructions from the Coast to come in start clearing the site for development. They in turn contracted out to a local contractor the job to demolish the shed and the 3 bedroom brick veneer cottage that was the caretakers living quarters. After the shed was demolished BDM called a holt to further destruction as they had not received any money from AAFT/GIRA. Since this they have delayed, delayed stating they had difficultly obtaining funds. Council in their wisdom has allowed this to go on and on, they even turned a blind eye to the removal the Caretakers cottage which was removed to a family owned property of the Scherfs. Council has seen fit to give them a 3 year extension to their Call Option Deed. Neil Hansford has pulled out, and now there is only Kingsley Mundey who is desperately trying to either sell off the project or obtain funding from China. Personally I feel that this project may never eventuate. In the mean time AAFT/GIRA are receiving income from Landing Fees and Rental. Council is still mowing the airport, whether they are being repaid is questionable - they did receive some money at the begining of the year February 2017, However, reading Councils Business paper does not specify where some of their income is derived from, your guess is as good as mine.
ANOTHER FANTASTIC SONG ABOUT A GREAT RACE HORSE THIS TIME A trotter who old jack great story great song great singer great everything
Have a look at this Business Paper for the GISC to be aired at the Council Meeting this Thursday, 23 Feb 2017, particularly Item 9.24…. 9.24 Progress - Australia Asia Flight Training School REPORT FROM: DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING AND REGULATORY SERVICES Author: Graham Price - Director of Development, Planning and Regulatory Services www.gisc.nsw.gov.au/sites/gleninnes/files/public/images/documents/gisc/council/Council%20Meetings/2017-02/0217%20Business%20Paper.pdf .Mr Graham Price should try and prove where these 150 positions are and where the $20M will come from, or maybe he believes in fairies.Social Implications The development will have a significant positive effect on the local community when realised. The project is estimated to create approximately 150 new fulltime equivalent positions in the Local Government Area (LGA), with a heavy emphasis on semi and unskilled occupations. It is estimated that the economic benefit to the area could exceed $20 million per annum.

July 30 at 8:55am · .. AAFT-GIRA Pty Ltd item 9.15 Mr Kingsley Mundey addressed the Councillors and the gallery and the following information in short form is provided for your information: 1. A 19 minute presentation by both Mr Kingsley Mundey and Mr Neil Hansford. 2. Mr Mundey spoke first, points raised are a) They are excellent business men and when they say they are going to do something, they will do something. b)Mr Mundey has every confidence that the Airport Project will go ahead in time. c) He has travelled the world and worn out a number of pairs of shoes - Seattle in February 2016, Mr Bill Sweeney another director has an accademy in California. d) Mr Mundey has been to Boeing Airlines, and Airbus e) Pilot training exceeds their estimate - now stands at 23,000 short fall around the world. f) Mr Mundey and Mr Hansford are not financiers nor capitalists. g) They have customers outside their doors, waiting for the flight school to come on board. h) The financing side has been slower than they anticipated. i) A New York Banker who is also Chairman of the Board of Trade based in Washington D.C. recently contacted them with a view to financing the project. Unable to mention name. Someone with incredible credentials. j) We would like a 3 year extension to the Call Option Deed, however we firmly believe that the end result could be even closer than this. k) We have with us a TERM SHEET (which is not a Contract), in hand to be discussed in private with the Council. end of Mr Mundey's address. Mr Neil Hansford then addressed the meeting - 1. To attract investment money a $20million project is too small to look at as an investment, Sounds funny but a $50million is a better option for investors to bring the Project to fruition in one stage, development in one year and not prolonged over 3-4 years as per the existing project. 2. A resolution was put to Council - that the extension to the Call Option Deed be granted providing that the outstanding money owed to Council by the GIRA Pty Ltd be paid in full by the end of December 2016. Should they default, the 3year extension on the Call Option Deed with be null and void. Council voted in accepting the 3 year extension with the above Resolution. Councillor Andrew Parsons raised the issue of the removal of the Airport residence and shed. the house is believed to have been acquired by even gifted to the Scherf family, the shed or a portion of is believed to have been acquired by a member of Council staff. Graham Price made every effort in avoiding the real issue that Council had failed to enforce enforce the terms and conditions of the DA that was set in place to protect the asset of the Community/Council should the AAFT-GIRA not proceed with the proposed construction. Mr Neil Hansford too responded, the house and shed was on their land, which they own, and all the infrastructure that has been put in place, water sewage etc paid by the NSW Business Development has far outweighed the cost associated with the house and shed, and a better result for the Community as some people have already connected into the supply. His comment disregards the liability the Council/ratepayers currently address

One of the best Slim Dusty songs sung 40 years after the original recording by Stan. Great stuff!
+Bushman Jack Yep! I also like the fact he sung it 40 years after Slim composed that song.
I also reckon it's great that Stan does it in his own particular style. His not copying Slim, but his not Americanising it like so many people would today.
+Bushman Jack Yeah! I liked his way too, quite catchy in a way! I also don't like the American singing and boasting popping up in Australia's country music scene.. When I sing songs like this.. I sing it as a dinki di Aussie because I feel Australian pride doing this, instead of feeling a sense of shame.
It's also good to see someone that thinks that way too.
Yep. It's a good song too.
original by James Oswald "Jimmy" Little,
This was published in the Glen Innes Examiner recently. Sounds like a type of blackmail to me. In response to questions from the public regarding the infrastructure that has already been demolished, Mr Price once again reiterated that jobs for the community should be the focus. “The possibility of losing that infrastructure if the project doesn’t go ahead is a risk that the council had to be prepared to take with the jobs growth plan of the airport,” he said. “If we had of sat on our hands and not let the project go ahead then the complaints would have been as loud about missing the opportunity. “We just need to have a little more patience in regards to this project and when it does happen the benefits will be obvious to all.” With the help of Save Glen Innes from the GISC, I would like to put a business proposal to the GISC. I have researched this project for over two years now, and looked at several locations including Quilpie, Wiluna and Birdsville. To set up a large Karaoke entertainment centre for young Asian people visiting Australia. I have now decided Glen Innes might be an ideal place because of the proposed Flying School with the 600 students expected to be trained here each and every year with the 150 employees and 49 instructors AWA are going to bring to Glen Innes. If all of these people spend $25,000 each in Glen Innes every year, with us, the benefit to Glen Innes will be $20m. I have already outlayed millions visiting Asian populations to determine the type of entertainment these young people want. We also have backers from Pallamallawa to Jackadgery with over 50 mil. Now I am hoping Graham Price will give me full support and find us a block of ground in Glen Innes with a 3 bedroom brick cottage and some large sheds we can have for $100, and worth over $300,000 . And Mr Appleby can arrange all the legal transfers with a DA and carry out the survey work using GISC staff possibly at a cost to rate payers of $100,000, so we can get this project going sometime, maybe over the next 5 years. I thank you for your help in this matter. John McLean.
This was recently posted on the Save Glen Innes from GISC page, however it was removed by the owner of that page. He must be one of the Bleeding Hearts Society. Nicci Parry Jones, has created a Refugees Welcome Glen Innes page, and is organizing a Public Meeting at the town hall to try and get GISC to support her with Rate Payers Money. Like most minority groups a few do gooders from The Bleeding Hearts Society will probably turn up to this meeting, because there are not too many of our service men left who fought to keep this country free. Bush, Howard and Blair caused this refugee problem by destroying the Government of Iraq, where these people (if you can call them people) were kept under control, now they are destroying their own country and all around them. Have you noticed these so called refugees entering Europe, there are a lot of young men who should be fighting for their country, but they are fighting with the authorities of the countries where they are trying to invade. Shows how dumb these so called people are from these areas when they trample 717 of their own to death, trying to reach a wall so they can throw a rock at it. I heard where Tamworth was going to get 1200 of these refugees, if that happens one day you will hear where they have rioted, destroying every thing, and the Police will not be able to control them, by the time the army arrive from Townsville there will be a lot of people wishing they had stood up and said no. If these refugees are allowed to come to Glen Innes, it will never be the safe town it is now.
Hansford is having himself and the GISC on - AGAIN….. 1,000 new pilots each year. In Glenn Innes, a town in Australia's New South Wales state once famed for tin and sapphire mines, a consortium known as Australia Asia Flight Training, led by airline veterans including the former deputy general manager of defunct national carrier Ansett Australia, reached a deal with the local council to take over the airport there. The consortium is trying to raise about 25 million Australian dollars, or roughly US$18 million, to build the first stage of what could be the world's largest pilot training facility, with the potential through further investment to train 1,000 new pilots each year. The students would mostly come from Asia, according to Neil Hansford, one of the businessmen behind the project. The school plans to seal contracts with airlines after its facilities are built, Mr. Hansford said. . . www.wsj.com/articles/asian-pilot-demand-lifts-flight-schools-1441047277 .
Don’t know if you have been ill watching Mr Hansford on TV in the last day or so as he has now become the expert on MH370, and destroyed aviation pilot training markets with the Malaysians and Chinese in one swoop. What a gem he is (not). Have a look at the following. www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/one-step-closer-to-solving-mh370-mystery/story-fnizu68q-1227465490172 Strategic Aviation Solutions director Neil Hansford said he was happy the Malaysians “didn’t get to touch it”. “At least the French, despite their Airbus orientation, will do an International Civil Aviation Organisation-standard proper independent analysis that will tell us that it is a Boeing component,” Mr Hansford said. www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/china-refusing-to-contribute-funds-to-mh370-search/story-fnizu68q-1227465529341 Australian aviation expert Neil Hansford said he found it totally abhorrent that China would not contribute anything to the cost of the search. “It should be a case of, if you don’t pay, you don’t play,” said Mr Hansford. “If find it totally abhorrent the Chinese are getting to call the shots, without paying a cent.” I just luv his quotation - “It should be a case of, if you don’t pay, you don’t play,” In his case it should read - “It should be a case of, you don’t play, if you don’t pay,” I reckon you can safely scracth any Chinese or Malayasian pilots from the Glen Innes Wings Academy project - Forever!
DEMAND FOR PILOTS TO SURGE, Northern Daily Leader 27 June 2015. More garbage from Hansford. The Glen Innes Flight Academy does not exist, and they can't get anyone interested in financing it. Also and I quote, " Boeing has announced that it will partner with Jeppesen to take tomorrow's pilots from street to right seat".
This appeared in the Glen Innes Examiner on 25th June 2015. When the Management of the flying school from Coolangatta, trading as Australia Wings Academy (AWA), originally put their ideas to the Glen Innes Severn Council (GISC) for a flying school development at Glen Innes, they stated that they had 34 aircraft and would be operating as Australia Asia Flight Training (AAFT ). However, a search of the Australian Aircraft Register showed that at that same time they owned only four aircraft. They produced a ‘Promotional Video’ featuring Glen Innes and stated that AAFT would be operational by the end of March 2014. This has clearly not happened and the timetable and project milestones have not been met. AAFT also originally stated that they would train approximately 600 student pilots a year at Glen Innes. It is my opinion that it would not be possible for AAFT , or any other organization, to train more than 200 pilots from an aerodrome such as Glen Innes in any one year. I previously wrote to the GISC and suggested that it was my belief that the GISC should proceed very cautiously with the exercise of due diligence in this matter as several other Councils had rejected the AAFT proposal for unknown and mainly unpublished reasons. I subsequently received a reply stating that the development had been approved and council’s only role was to supply services to the aerodrome. It was then reported that the GISC also sold AAFT an area of airport parkland land which included the brick caretaker’s residence, a large shed used as a workshop and storage area for approximately $100. The real market value of this land and buildings would probably be more realistically valued at approximately $300,000. This is surely a revenue loss borne by all ratepayers. These buildings have now all been demolished, parts of the parklands and gardens have been disturbed or removed, and yet there is still no sign the promised AWA flying school. The time extension given to AWA by the GISC to build this proposed flying school by March 2014 has now expired, reportedly more than once, and the GISC has now granted AAFT yet another 12 months - reportedly so that they can secure the promised funding. Now that the GISC have granted AAFT this further extension of 12 months to commence some construction and start the flying school operation, then the GISC would appear to be effectively admitting that any decisions they made in approving the AWA flying school lacked complete and comprehensive due diligence on the part of the GISC before approving the project. AAFT have surely had more than enough time to organise their finance with their funds/funders that are apparently only now doing their own due diligence. Surely, AAFT should have met this and many other required milestones long ago, have already delivered and commenced operations of their promised facility. Again, it should not be forgotten that Glen Innes was not the first site selected by AAFT, but rather the last following several other council rejections of the AAFT proposals. It worries me when, in late May 2015, I read that an AWA spokesperson was quoted in ‘The Examiner’ as stating that “We are trying to make sure everything is secure before we proceed as we are being doubly careful that we start what we finish.” It would seem to be far better if AAFT was now able to finish what they started! Sadly, I believe that this is now looking less likely each day that passes. If AAFT cannot meet the project milestones and/or organise finance with their funders by now, then it would seem to any reasonable ratepayer that the GISC must cut any further financial losses on works etc., reclaim the land and restore the area allocated to the attractive parklands and gardens as it once was. The article in ‘The Examiner’ on Thursday 18 June 2015 re “Strong demand bodes well for flight schools” is only part of the story by one aircraft manufacturer. There are many other factors that will determine demand for the AAFT proposed facility. For example, AAFT plans to provide training for students up to ‘Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating (MECIR)’ and approximately 250 hours total aeronautical experience. But this may be insufficient to attract students who desire to be commercial airline pilots. While AAFT completed their search for a home airport, the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced in July 2013 that it was increasing the qualification requirements for first officers who fly for U.S. passenger and cargo airlines. Their new rule requires first officers - also known as co-pilots - to hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, requiring 1,500 hours total time as a pilot. Previously, first officers were required to have only a commercial pilot licence (CPL), which requires 250 hours of flight time as proposed by AAFT. The rule also requires first officers to have an aircraft type rating, which involves additional training and testing specific to the airplanes they fly, such as Boeing B737, B747, Airbus A320, A330 etc. The FAA new requirements will soon migrate to become universal standards and all airline training organisations will need to meet these new standards if the pilot opportunities and career prospects are to be fully realized and truly global. At least one training organisation has moved with the times and has already joined up with the new airport at Brisbane West Wellcamp. The Airline Academy of Australia (AAA) and University of Southern Queensland (USQ) has established a new aviation education precinct at Australia’s newest airport that was officially opened in November 2014. AAA will offer pilot training as well as courses for aircraft maintenance, engineering and electronics. AAA claims to be only one of a handful of flight training providers appointed globally to deliver ab-initio training through the Jeppesen Flight Training Network (part of the Boeing Pilot Development Programme), which gives student pilots an unprecedented opportunity to pursue internationally-recognised training and qualifications. AAFT may have missed the ‘boarding call’ in this respect and the GISC may have some angry ratepayers to appease should the AAFTproject continue to slip in materialising. Something is starting to smell, and it may not be roses!

A comment from an ex AWA student. "So hows is that "state of the art training facility in Gunnedah" going? LOL what a joke, full of empty promises. When I was there they told students they were getting a Jet.....never saw that either. Ask ex-students what they think and make sure you don't go there!"
Check this one out by vmbiz, He reckons they are a bunch of crooks. No way they will make it work in Glen Innes too far from city life " Australian Wings Academy "
After reading the two letters published in The Glen Innes Examiner recently regarding the removal of the trees from the vicinity of the Aerodrome, and the excuse put forward by the flying school director. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority no longer conduct surveys around Country Airports, that do not have a regular airline service. The only reason the survey was carried out at Glen Innes and the trees removed was because of the change of ownership of the airport, from the G.I.S.C to the flying school. As for the comment, to try and make it sound better, that the trees will be mulched and used around the flying school area, I doubt it, they will most likely rot away or get burnt. The flying school idea was directly responsible for the destruction of those trees.
