April 2023 Power Tune: The Milky Way reel
For April 2023's Tune of the Month for the Powers Music School Monthly Friday Irish Music Learners' Session in Belmont, MA, held on (usually- check the calendar!) the third Thursday of the month.
This is a correction of the tune I posted in the original video, as I got the A part wrong and didn’t realize it for a while - ugh!

We learned the fabulous reel "The Milky Way," written by the fantastic composer Vincent Broderick. This tune is quite twisty in a devious way, and the turns will challenge your brain as it tries to set this into your neural pathways, but it's worth the challenge!

The great fiddler, piano player and composer Charlie Lennon passed away in June of this year, leaving behind a rich legacy of his fantastic recordings and compositions.
