I took it to Windermere in October and it got abused dragged up and down rocky beaches and banks! It is still as good as new I would say it’s 7-8mm not sure on its true thickness but it’s a hell of a boat I really put it through it’s paces so I am impressed and it’s very stable even with all my kit and my 18 stone self moving around it was rock steady. A 450 would be a great choice for you and the kids for sure. Thanks for the comment

It’s got more to do with the reels than the rod, I have the full range of dwarf rods and they all fit the scope luggage fine however the larger the reel the tighter the fit. The luggage is made with the rods in mind so the different rods all fit but if you try fitting a 9ft rod and a large big pit in a double rod sleeve that’s when the issues with them fitting arise. I have a pair of 6ft dwarfs and I wanted to pair them with shimano baitrunners they fit the sleeve with the 6000 baitrunner but not with the 10000 baitrunner. So it’s the reel size not the rod size that’s the issue mate. In my experience anyway.

Bp10 I found ok it was when I went to the bp12 I had the issues so bp10 on 9ft dwarfs will be fine.

Do you think 9ft dwarfs with shimano 5500xtd’s would fit in a triple scope rod skin?

Hi mate, thanks. Yeas they will fit in the single, double and triple skin/bags I only ever had an issue with the transporter carryall with it being a tight fit.

Thanks mate. I used fox Exocet 18lb it’s a fantastic line and it has a large breaking strain with small diameter so you can get loads on the BP12 took 500m of 18lb.

Bp10’s are a good fit mate in fact the 10’s are the reel of choice the 12’s are good reels but the BP10 will still do everything the 12 will and is slightly smaller making it a better fit with the scope luggage.

Why wouldn’t they? There is no difference between a 10ft scope and 10ft dwarf other than the price a friend of mine has his 10ft wychwood rods in his scope bag. A 10ft rod will fit in any 10ft hold-all regardless of brand now if someone said his 10ft rod won’t fit a 9ft bag that I could at least understand, to be fair Nash is scope rods are the Audi of the fishing world it might have the look and feel of luxury but it’s just a Volkswagen in fancy clothing.

I’ve just read this, so may be a bit pointless adding this now, but here goes. The Dwarf rods I have (mk2) have a shorter butt to reel seat length than the Scope rods. I’m not sure, but I think that the mk 3 Dwarfs do too. This may make some holdall options tight with certain combinations. The most likely to be problematic is trying to fit a Scope rod and reel into a Dwarf holdall. The reel pouches on the scope holdalls tend to be a little larger, so fitting a Dwarf rod and reel into a Scope holdall, is unlikely to be too much of an issue unless the reel is very large or long at the back.

I have them with Nash BP12 big pits and can cast 100 yards + but something I think a lot of people forget is it’s not just rods/reels/line that aid casting it’s also down to one’s ability and techniques. The rods I can’t fault I went from 13ft Diawa rods to these and not looked back since.

@@LLLLLL167 this would be my first rods,on the lakes i would fish on i dont need to cast more than 70-80 meters so i dont know to pick 10 Ft 3.5 rods or 12 Ft 3 lb rods i cant choose From Fox Eos or this nash dwarfs

It’s personal choice then I like the Nash dwarf 10ft because they take up little space in the car and I don’t have to put seats down! I even have a set of the dwarf 9ft 3lb rods which are just as good as the 10ft ones and will cast 70-80 meters with ease

Random_ Matt I understand the argument very well as I working in the industry for a long time. Of course your local or small shop can give a more personal service but you pay for that in higher prices and waiting for stock that they just don’t have the capacity to carry. Big companies cock up like your example, that’s hardly exclusive to angling direct. Them buying up smaller shops is fine, if the were good viable and profitable businesses, they wouldn’t be for sale. They aren’t profitable because they can’t provide the service in regards to stock and supply that big companies can, it’s just the way things are now. While I agree it’s a pity to a point, it also means lower prices for us. I agree about NGT making none patented products but they are a big profit hungry company, just like angling direct. To keep your argument valid, shouldn’t you be buying from smaller original companies that drive innovation rather than the copy cats?
