Welcome to everyone who is able to attend this evening. Even though we are unable to meet the Award Recipients and their families face to face, I want you all to know how important this evening is. The fact that it is the first time we have ever had to do this , in a virtual setting, in truth, makes it even more special. I would also like to thank Col Jason Wright and the entire RFCA team who have done truly spectacular job , which I hope everyone will agree, when they have seen it, will linger long in the memory. You will also see that the Cadets are all brilliant communicators and a huge credit to themselves and their generation. I look forward to speaking with you all after the presentation. Brilliant life I served 13 years until the squadron was disbanded with and all ships sold off in 1993. I was a marine en in e'er and diver.. still in contact with rn rnr shipmates

Im joining

i enlisted in 1975 and served for approx 10 yrs meeting great mates if thinking about joining , dont hold back its a great life throughly enjoyed my time . . only regret is i didnt join the regular army , having tasted army life

I currently work for a UK fire service of which I can not disclose.... I have two contracts for this brigade... one being a courier in my primary employment for the brigade and the other is a retained fire fighter (crew manager) on salary scale.. due to changes within the retained duty system that I disagree with im debating leaving the retained and re joining the army for the tas...i was a regular soldier in 2006/2008 so I miss the military ambitions and buzz but life circumstances means I can not rejoin as a regular soldier.. so hense I want the Ta side of it and remain a courier for the fire service my question is... is the pay worth the hours you commit to as a ta soldier... .Obviously the passion for the military is my desire and ambition but the money needs to balance what I get now as a retained firefighter /crew manager.... anyone share advice or light on this? thanks👍
