    Scott Perunovich if can stay healthy will be your Power Play quarterback. This is the year I hope he emerges! He didn't win the Hobey Baker in 2020 for nothing! He is a great playmaker and can be elusive with the puck! Also Broberg is a great skater, who used to be a forward until he switched to Defense at the age of 16.

    Losing Krug for the season hurts but the organization properly prepared for this and looked to improve the defensive core. His salary cap number becomes an asset for the team, especially if they become buyers at the deadline. There is some concerns with Suter playing, but he has many financial incentives in his contract to play and play well. His leadership will be invaluable too. The Blues are set for their defense, and we will see what comes from training camp.

    Addition by subtraction. Not wishing harm on him but he's set for life and he's been a real drag on our defense. His full no trade is gone the following year,, so when he recovers if he's able to play, he will do so elsewhere.

      Broberg is a very different player from Perunovich. Broberg is a lot bigger, stronger, and likes to hit. Perunovich gets injured a lot, and is not very effective standing up to a lot of physical contact. Perunovich is a little better at all-around passing, but Broberg is very good at breakout passes, and bringing the puck out of danger. Perunovich is technically a better skater, but he hasn't been able so far, to do a lot of scoring tying that together with his excellent passing skills. Brober hasn't scored much, so far in The NHL, but he's a decent passer, and should score more after getting more NHL experience.

    Well, just to put things in perspective here - first off - Broberg could of been had for just a 2nd round pick back in December when the Oilers were trying to trade him, and NO ONE wanted him for 'that high a price' including St.Lous. Why? Oh I dunno, maybe because he wasn't good enough to crack our lineup as a top 6 dman after 3 years in the organisation. Oh, but yeah, he played very well in 6 or 7 of the 10 games he played in the playoffs - but no one bothers to actually 'think' about this do they? Well, lets see, Dallas just went through two meat grinders in Vegas and Colorado, and were clearly beat up and tired - Broberg meanwhile was oh, yeah, SITTING IN THE PRESS BOX, nice and RESTED when he came in to that series. It would have been pretty sad for him he didn't go in and look good. As the playoffs progress and they played Florida, he (Broberg) became less and less affective - gee I wonder why?? And St.Loo is paying him 9.15 MILLION dollars over the next two years, and need to qualify him after that for over 5M per season or he walks as a UFA. No way no how Oilers were matching that contract. Holloway - um guys, he was #10 on our depth chart for forwards. You don't believe it - here' s who ahead of Hollywood on our depth chart: McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, RNH, Skinner (Jeff), Arvidsson, Kane, Henrique, Brown, Janmark. Remember this is a TEAM game with ONE puck - Hollywood no where near the top 6, and as a 'TEAM' you need to kill penalties and Hollywood is well behind RNH, Brown, Janmark, and Ryan for the PK. So paying HW 2.58M for being a #10 forward when we're on the cusp of winning a Stanley Cup, again not a chance. GOod on the Blues for taking advantage. And I'm sure, down the road, when the Oilers do this again (offer sheet someone) that teams GM will LOSE THEIR FRICKEN MIND, challenge our GM to a fight, and the rest of the NHL fans will dump all over the Oilers for making an offer sheet because everyone is a hypocrite.

      @battlefieldoverlord6772 hey oilersbro, I totally get the frustration at losing these 2 players but you guys have 2(arguably 3 w bouchard) superstars to resign in the next few seasons. And you were 2 goals away from THE STANLEY CUP. Fully expect Edmonton to make another run at it, and I can see them winning it all, kind of likehow florida lost to Vegas and won the following year. Alot of stuff to be excited abt oilers fans. Also I expect us to get offer sheeted as payback when the money is available. Not excited abt that lol

    Perunovich will probably be traded or waived by the time the season starts. He's the 8th best Dman currently on the roster. Sounds like they are gonna try out Buchnevich and Holloway at center in camp. One of them likely ends up as 2c. If Dvorsky makes team, he is likely 3c to start. I think it shakes out in some combination of these 2 sets: Bolduc - Thomas - Buchnevich or Bolduc -Thomas - Neighbours Neighbours - Holloway - Kyrou Holloway - Buchnevich - Kyrou Saad - Dvorsky - Schenn Saad - Schenn - Texier Texier - Faksa - Joseph Joseph - Faksa - Toropchenko Sundqvist - Toropchenko Sundqvist - Kapanen Leddy - Parayko Broberg - Parayko Broberg - Faulk Leddy - Faulk Suter - Kessel Suter - Kessel PO Joseph PO Joseph Binnington Hofer

      Perunovich was third among our defenceman in defensive point shares last year. He had more total point shares than Krug despite playing far fewer games. He was a little better than people remember.

    • @dougpaddock7762
      @dougpaddock7762 11 дней назад

      @@mattfrommo2483 until the last handful of games, Perunovich played heavily sheltered minutes. He’s small and terrible in his own zone. He’s 26 and isn’t suddenly going to turn into a game breaker player everyone hoped for when he won the Hobey Baker award. The teams plan is to get back to big defenseman that can defend as evidenced by their draft picks. Time to move on from the PP specialists like Krug and Perunovich.

      @dougpaddock7762 I'm not saying he gets a free spot on the second pair, but I would not trade him without giving him a chance to prove himself with legit ice time. The Blues have never really given him that. I think the odds are better that he has a breakout season with us than they are that you would get very much for him in trade anyway. Just my opinion.

    Where do you guys see neighbors slotting in? Bolduc doesn't strike me as a bottom 6 guy and neighbors has proven he should be in the top 6. Adding Holloway, faksa, texier, and Joseph feels like overkill considering we already have guys pushing. We obviously need to balance out our D pairings with the over abundance of left shot D. What happens if Dvorsky actually makes the squad? I don't think we're done.

    • @notenewspod
      @notenewspod 14 дней назад

      Neighbours likely slots in on the 2nd line to start the season, but we're thinking he cracks the top line by the end of the season. Holloway is probably a 3rd line guy to start the season, with Bolduc maybe being a 2nd/3rd line guy. Faksa, Texier, and Joseph are probably all bottom 6. Never hurts to have enough forward depth, but most of these contracts are short enough to make room for Dvorsky and others once they're ready. Lots to think about...

    If the Blues get Bromberg i see him sliding next to Faulk and suring up the top 4 if he continues off his playoff performance. Which would push Perunovich down to 3rd line which I'm happy with. He needs to prove he can stay healthy. I could see Bromberg and Faulk pairing becoming a 1a and 1b situation with Parayko and Leddy. But it all depends on Krugs ankle which has been bothering him since he got to St.louis. I wish him the best of luck but hope he moves on for his health and he's not worth that contract. He needs to be 60+ points to make that contract look good but he's never done that. Do your research before talking out your 🍑.
