The BBC band a lot of artists they banned a lot of songs buy lots of different artists and different bands which was great for the artist because the songs were banned they actually sold more because they were banned so it was great for songwriters. The thing was and still is in many ways the BBC do not like anybody who's got something to say and if the rich and the government did not like what they were hearing they would basically order the BBC to band the material, the people like Jimmy Savile and lots of other people who worked for the BBC got away with dreadful and Unthinkable crimes. Covering their own backs. It must have been great when you would find out that your song is going to be banned you would just be seeing dollar signs.$$$$$$

In the 70's there was a rumor about Rod Stewart getting sick during a concert because he had performed fellatio on another man before the concert. It was HUGE and everyone was talking about it at school for a while, but all along his hits kept coming so people eventually stfu and let his music do the talking. Boy George too. So much talent with these two and so many boundaries broken with gender and racial bending of "blue eyed soul".

I went nightclubbing in London in the mid 80's. The girl I was with was friends with George and he was there in the club. I have to say he was just like he is in this interview, charming, down to earth, and friendly. I liked him very much. I can see that Rod has these qualities too. George is a fine singer and Rod is arguably the greatest rock singer of all. God bless you both gents and keep singing and putting smiles on the people's faces.

The most recent memory of Rod that I have is of him falling flat on his face (metaphorically) during a live gig by saying we need to support Ukraine in the war against Russia. He was booed heavily. He might be a decent crooner but who paid him to say that sh*t.
