Nintendo 64 Pikachu Edition (N64) | Restoration
Nintendo 64 - Pokémon Pikachu Edition.
In this video I restore this Nintedo 64 which was very yellowed and had some problems with reading cartridges/games. In 2000, a new housing variant followed in the blue and yellow Pokémon design with a Pikachu figure on the top right and a Poké Ball as an on/off switch. Pikachu's right foot serves as a reset button. There was also a correspondingly colored controller with the lettering Pokémon, unfortunately I haven't been able to buy it yet. To open the console, I need a tool called game bit. Such screws can be found in many Nintendo consoles. I cleaned the plastic and used method called retrobrighting to remove the yellowing from the plastic.

Game Boy Cartridge Restoration | Replace Batterie & Label

I replace the save battery of the Pokémon Pikachu / Yellow Edition. This also works with every Pokémon Game like Gold, Silver Crystal and other Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color game cartridges. If your GB or GBC games are no longer saving, then replacing the battery is the best way to fix it. I also replaced the Dragon Ball Z picture with the original Label of the game, so it looks nearly l...

Restoring a SONY PlayStation 2 | Memory Card Fail - FIXED!
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
I restored a playstation 2 that i bought it on Ebay for 2€. There was another surprise hidden in the playstation! The description said that it was very dirty, but supposedly worked said the owner, except for the memory card. The surprise was Need For Speed: Most Wanted (from 2005) One of my favorite games back then. A Singstar microphone was also sent, I'll clean and try it out in this video: r...

Great video and restoration. Super informative. Thank you!!

Could we use a shoebox? I cure small items - polymer clay jewelry pieces covered w/UV resin. This is a great video.
HI! I'm also fixing an old Walkman, but mine is an Aiwa brand. I'm waiting for the new straps, but in the meantime I'm thinking about what I can use to remove scratches from the plastic. I only find amazon products for cars, could you recommend a product to remove scratches from shiny and transparent plastic parts? Would the product you used in the video be good? thanks if you answer me 🙏
Where did you re-oil them?
For what they are and how cheap to buy they are, sing star mics are a pretty good mic. Although, I owned 2 sets of the official mics, the first set I got with my ps2 when sing star first came out, and the second set I got with one of the singstar discs about ten years later, and although the first set were welk made and had some weight to them, the second set felt cheap and very plastic-y and not as good quality and crackled a lot. The first set I still use now for singing and guitar recordings, also I have a set of the older ones using adapters on our karaoke machine and they sound better than some of the more expensive more professional mics I've owned. Very hard wearing and have been dropped, thrown, bashed about, slobbered on, had drink spilled into them and god knows what else, and still look and work like new almost 20 years later. The usb adapter works great with the pc, you get a better recording signal on a computer by using the usb adapter with the correct driver for it. Watching this video reminded me to buy another set for a Christmas party for this year where karaoke will feature heavily, and a set from CEX or eBay is usually less than £5/€6/$6.50-ish. and as in this video, every now and then strip them down, give a good clean and sanitising and put back together properly, they will last a long time. But try and buy the heavier older ones if you can. I'm not sure about the third party ones though. Also, if you want a decent usb mic, the WiiU ones are another cheap in price but good quality option. Great video. Merry Christmas!
That was my first cassette walkman. It was my everyday companion, I never abused it but eventually it fell into pieces due to the very extensive use. I still keep the circuit board in a drawer. It's got audio 2 chips, the first is a low noise pre-amp, and the second is the headphone amplifier. The headphone amp was really good quality, and that's the reason why I have kept it.
In mine, the resistors are printed on the PCB.
Wow good job! I'd say you're really good at restoring things! I remember that Pikachu N64 console. It's pretty cool. I used to have it when I was a preteen. I got it for my 11th birthday in April 2001 but sadly I decided to get rid of it by throwing away at age 15 in 2005. I kinda missed it. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
I'm curious, would it be a smart idea to use this box in my room?
But those leds are not waterproof right?
nope, they are not waterproof.
@@restoreeverything8654 So you use the Oxy Creme only (wrapped in plastic) and not the liquid I assume?
@@kevinvandorst I use a another container inside this uv light box, where I put in the object I want to retrobright and hydrogene peroxide.
Seems you had much better luck with the submersion method than I did, I tried it with my really dark blued Pikachu N64 and it caused white splotching all over it, the red on the PokeBall turned white and the blue cover edges turned white, not sure what I did wrong but I guess I now have a funky looking N64 haha
Hello, the lights you linked come in 24w and 60w, which one should I choose for retrobrighting?
I'd say the 60 watt. I'm getting that one myself.
Absolutely amazing
Thank you!
@@restoreeverything8654 your welcome
Thanks for this video. I have the same Walkman but in blue colour. This was very helpful for me. Thanks again 😁👍
Thanks!
What’s the liquid ?
That's just water with regular dish soap. best wishes Phil
great
Thanks!
esa consola salió a finales del 2000, así que no es de 1996
Description of the video: In 2000, a new housing variant followed in the blue and yellow Pokémon design with a Pikachu figure on the top right and a Poké Ball as an on/off switch.
What did you use for the plastic?
To remove the scratches?
That was just car polish. best wishes Phil
@@restoreeverything8654 thank you love Walkmans sadly the WM-22 is impossible to find new or expensive as hell
Now just retrobright Pikachu
I've tried, but I don't want to overstress the plastic.
I don't hear nothing
Me too
How did this not get any more likes???
Thanks <3
time to embrace monke
Ohhh yeah
Just make sure that if you are handling Hydrogen Peroxide to use rubber gloves and protective eyewear. It can cause chemical burn on exposed skin, and if you get it in your eyes, it's lights out. Don't mess around with this stuff.
its highly reactive, so you need to use protective gear and googles, you´re absolutely right
Good job,I had one about 37 years ago.premium quality hifi
nice thanks!
i have the same model, i was playing my new Metallica tape when it just broke, the FF and REW still work but when i press play only this one pin at the front spins but the actual pin to spin the tape doesnt and it creates a high pitched sound, ive got no clue on what to do with it and i dont actually see anythint broken inside the thing any clue how to fix it?
Have you tried replacing the drive belts?
Try playing a Iron Maiden tape on it, maybe it just doesn't like Metallica. Just kidding, sounds like it may be a belt that's loosing tension or maybe the retaining clip for the clutch has broken off. Yes, I'm serious this time, there really is a clutch in a cassette mechanism.
Hey there, how much time did it took you with the plastic bag technique VS submerged the console into the peroxide hydrogen ? Very nice videos
Thanks, there's no difference in my experience, is just a different amount of hydrogen peroxide that's different.
Thanks for the video and the tips. I notice you're using 3528SMD uv leds, 2835 would be more efficient, like the one Odd Tinkering is using. I'm wondering 5050SMD might be the most efficient since it's the more powerful... I did not see anyone using 5050, it would be amazing to have a comparison
That´s right, but it was the only LED Strip available at that time, I thing it`s time for me to upgrade! ;-)
Does it work for shoes too? When they have yellow soles?
Actually trying it right now I’ll lyk the process in about 2-3 hours Edit: it works fine for me it’s not done but I can see that a lot of the yellowing has been removed leaving it in longer is going to finish it hopefully Final edit: after about 7 hours the yellow on some air force 1s were pretty much gone it went from like piss yellow to white
Yeah, you can use it for shoe too. Only problem may could be the thickness of the soles.
For the 3D printing, what material is best to use? Not done 3D printing before and there seems to be lots of options.
I mostly use PLA filament, but also had some good results with ABS and BIO. best wishes phil
Amazing work!! I'm just starting restoration myself; what type of paint would you recommend using for Pikachu's nose?
I use leftovers paints from my cars to be honest. But also sometimes I use specific paint for modelling. best wishes phil
What did you use to make the " press here to restart" sticker ?
I use this printable sticker/paper ( amzn.to/2YHx99k ) and the i use a regular printer 🖨️. best wishes phil
@@restoreeverything8654 thanks !
the sticker placement at the end hurt my ocd
oh-key
Love you!!!
Waiting for the restoration. All there was is cleaning.
ok mate
What was your water to peroxide ratio ?
12% hydrogen peroxide and 88% water
So how much hydrogen 12% you use on one liter of water??
This fascinates me
thanks
I love the Pokemon on it the Nintendo 64
yeah, it's a really nice N64
Hey work my guy, so this took 96 total hours in the solution?
yes
Im late but this is very important to me. Is walkman WM-23 and WM-22 the same in the size? i want to change WM-23 lid and replace it with WM-22 lid
I think so, yes

Super robota!
thank you
Love it!
thanks
I have just acquired the exact walkman but for the life of me the spring is off I can't re attach it I watched ya video a few times I can't seem to put it back on you seem not too have a good angle of how u put it back
do you mean the spring for the "door"?
How in the hell did you remove the inner part so easily?? Mine is immovable
Maybe your's an other model? There was no cutting or preparation for my video.
@@restoreeverything8654 seems to be the same. I gave up on it eventually
Do you restore old items for people?
Hey Jackklo, no, i just restore them for myself. best wishes phil
@@restoreeverything8654 damn. Well I love your content regardless!! :)
Wgat a cool video! I just bought one off Facebook market place the other day for $25! It works but there is drag. I want to restore it as you did. What oil did you use for the gears and what size band did you use? If you’d rather not say, I understand. I just hope I don’t mess it up.
Hey Antbandit, is use sewing machine oil and bought a set of rubber bands in differents sizes (can't tell you the exact size, i just tried different bands). best wishes phil
@@restoreeverything8654 cool! I was thinking that oil you use to oil hair clippers but my MIL may have sewing machine oil. Thanks again!
I just found one on eBay for cheap! Without a battery door also! But it says it works! Thanks for the link to the 3D printed door as I do have a 3D printer at home!
Great purchase, wish you the best of luck with your project!!! ;-)
