    Great depth to some common issues. Id love to hear some discussion on how things like gross margin change as our inventory and transfers change. Ie, cow calf going to a wally style herd inventory of developing heifers raised to cows sold as high appreciation market animals. I know for me, it made my initial cow gm go from 78%to 63%, while the heifer enterprise had a 70+%gm. As time goes by, over next year, the gm changes some, but as i start to move appreciated cows out, the cow gm is again the knock out winner

    I really like the spreadsheet. Have you considered using the inventory function of QB and tracking loaded cost for each class of animals when receipts are entered enter the market value on the sales price so you can see/manage both market value and cost in the inventory value detail report?

      We have more than considered it and decided against it. There are a number of limitations that make it not an option for us.
