Howard Products Orange Oil Wood Polish
Fantastic product! I had kitchen cabinet handleless doors that had accumulated dark grease stains in the lower corners after 20 years. I cleaned them off using 1:1 dish washing liquid and baking soda. The finish came off with the embedded grease. I sanded the edge of the gloss to blend. I was able to restore the color with Howard's Restor A Finish. With the first coat, the color was a little light and a second application matched it perfectly. I applied gloss Urethane to bring back the final finish. It saved me the expense of having to have them refinished by removing, sanding the whole door and re-varnishing. Wiping down the surfaces with Howard's of all the doors removed splashes to make them look new again.
I want to buye it but I live in Europe Brussels. It’s not possible from your website
Can i use this on my butcher block counter top. I used Watco butcher block stain to finish it
My favorite finish!
Great video Thank you
Great video Thank you
Thank you
Where do I find this
Is sanding after conditioning necrssary? Thanks
Hello, Sanding after conditioning is not necessary!
@@Howard-Productsmisheard buffing as sanding 😅 thanks anyway!
@@jw7268 If there is excess product left on the surface, you can buff it off, but if the wood soaks all of the product up then no buffing would be needed!
Suggestion: there is usually a zipper at the bottom of those upper cushions….just fill with filling to « revamp » to shape
did they use this product to paint the metal knob as well?
What the hell is "Faurot" steel. Speak English, dude.
can I use a darker refinsher for lighter oak cabinets?
Iss this availbe on daraz??
Doesn't help unfortunately I've already stripped my wood down. There's nothing on their website it says if it's okay to use once you've sanded down the surface. I hesitate to use the product until I hear from some professional
Having trouble finding a cloth that doesnt leave lint
100% cotton ring spun towels. They are thin chef towels. Lint free. You can buy a 12 pack around $20. Work amazing
I bought this via Amazon, but the product came hardened in the bottle. 😢 I also checked Home Depot and the ones on the shelf are also hardened in the bottle, does the product come like that? Should I return it? The way you demonstrated the product easily coming out of the bottle is not what I have experienced. Am I to heat the product or something to liquify it? At a loss as to how to proceed.
All the Howard’s products are wonderful.
Can you use just the conditioner?
I cant get FeednWax here… any non Howard alternatives? Or does Restore a Finish absolutely need a top treatment? I am in Europe
How do you buff the board?????
Without sanding😂thats exactly how not to do any paint work.
It's not a paint work though..
What kind of cloth do you use?
The product is great but the finishing is much darker. How is it with lighter colours or if you want lighter finish ?
I've used the oak color and it's perfect
Could you use Orange Oil on a cane seat? If so, would it allow the cane to stretch and sag or would the cane stay tight? I just finished “restoring” the spindle back antique chair with the cane seat mentioned above. It had sun faded since I last worked on it in the mid 1970’s. I used Golden Oak Restor-A-Finish, letting it sit over night to “off gas” after wiping it dry. Then I put a heavy application of the Feed & Wax with UV protectant. I let that sit over night before wiping it down, thus letting the wax absorb as much as possible. The finish almost looks now like dark oak. It’s beautiful!
I have found using using 0000 steel wool for best results..
I dont think our cabinets have a protective finish, ( neighbor who was a carpenter made them) will this work for them? I aure hope so i bought it already.
to me it looks like the finish is darker and the piece does not look as good dark.
Can it be used on denim?
This is a miracle product!!!!!!
Three questions. Do you have to clean the wood first? If so, what type of cleaners would remove Pledge/dust build up in carved areas? Does this work over wood veneer?
You should try to clean dust and loose dirt off first. You might try soaking a micro-fiber towel and then wringing it out well before wiping down the wood. Then use a dry towel to remove as much moisture as possible. Lastly, let the piece sit to completely allow any left over moisture to evaporate. If you are using OOOO steel wool for applying the Restor-a-Finish, it will also help removing any caked on dirt. You need to be a little careful with the OOOO steel wool to keep from stripping the original finish down to bare wood. Just this week I used these products on 3 antique tables and they turned out very nicely. Next, I’m going to use them on my matching pair of Stickley oak rockers.
@@donelmore2540 I appreciate your detailed response! Thank you.
To add....I also used a flat paint brush to hit the corners the rag could not reach.
Would the restor and finish cover up stenciled paint on a 1983 Hitchcock chair?
I doubt that you’ll have much luck covering up a painted surface. Restor-a-Finish is NOT opaque so the paint will most likely show through. I just looked up your chair and think that taking off the stenciling will vastly reduce the value of your chair unless the stenciling is in very bad shape.
Would cutting board oil be good for guitar fretboards?
If I use a different finish color . A darker tone… will it stain it darker or look weird?
It gets darker.
Will Restore A Finish reamalgamate lacquer crazing?
En Colombia como lo encuentro , el nombre ayuda por favor
I need to restore a table to a darker stain. Would that work?
No I don’t think so. You would need to sand or strip and then stain it the color you want. I believe this stuff is more of a polishing agent.
This stuff doesn’t work very good for me I’ve tried it on of different pieces
This product has a significant amount of food grade mineral oil in the formula. Not a good oil for leather conditioning.
You must have your own factory research team... 🤦♂️
@@GT_Racer347 No, I viewed the SDS and contacted Howard via email.
Thank you for stating you need feed and wax every month. I (people) tend to think, I used this stuff, looked good for a while, but it really does not work, and never use it again. I thought that until I watched this. I don’t know if this will be seen 4 years later, (but I did) 😮
Definitely going to purchase this,I use howard feed and wax on most of my woodturnings and carvings, great products 👍
Will this work on UV weathered window ledge?
Fee
Yeah this stuff really does work. I was surprised how it easy it was to use.
Fucking liar 😂😂😂

Can I seal this in with a hardening wax? Or would I use it on top of?
You are mumbling about the steel wool. what kind are you saying?
@ Lois Barber Mumbling? I don’t think so. Seems you’re just getting old, deaf and senile. “…you can use Four-ought steel wool”. Four ought = 0000
@@MartinD9999 I can only tell you what many cannot hear. I'm none of those things you describe me as. However you are a rude ass.
@@loisbarber7023 Well, Lois, thanks for the response but I can't possibly be any ruder than you were when you said he was "mumbling". So, if I'm one for pointing out your rudeness, then you and I both need to be eating hay or grass, aren't we? Can I mount you now? 🎠🐎🤭

Good stuff 🪵👍
I need ALL of these products 😱 Advertising is way too honest these days. This sh*t will obviously change my life!
Hello! Please advise of I need to degrease the surface prior to using Restor-A-Wood? If so what product should I use? I recently used Pledge on my dining room table so I am afraid the pledge on the surface will interfere with the products bond with the current finish. Kindly advise thanks!!!
A glass cleaner that contains ammonia is a great cleaner to remove grease. Do a test spot.
Awesome presentation. Short and right to the point!
