Just throwing this up there without really any edits since it was my first track day ever and I have a long list of things to improve on. Please enjoy all my missed shifts, too slow, too fast, should have passed, more lean, less lean, ect. Even my unintentional walk in the grass because I shifted down while going too fast and fishtailed my rear resulting in not enough brake... The coaches were ...

I would like to put a KN-cone filter for my Pikes Peak 1200s. An Arrow is at the back.(soon both)🤘

What dot fluid do I need for this Bike?
The manual states "SHELL - Advance Brake Dot 4" but any DOT4 fluid should do just fine.
What clutch plates did you buy ??? Im getting ready to install a clear clutch window and figure w 29000.miles on my 1200 multistrada might as well install new plates .. just looking for nice reliable plates . Thanx in advance . N thanx for vid😊
This is the set of Barnett clutch plates I ordered, pulled from my order history, and fits the Monster 1200: amzn.to/3wAeXCj
Any way you can clean your camera lens next time? It will clear out the cloudiness on the video. Everyone forgets to clean the lens.
thank you
And be sure to let all the remnant gas trikle through the bike when removing the tank. Though a simple shop towel placed beneath it may sound smart, it is not suggested.
很棒的影片,感謝分享
Why would you replace the chain with out replacing the sprockets?
Rust. I really should be better about regular chain maintenance.
Just in case someone still wants to do this - it doesn't have to be that complex. Here is an alternative method, which I (and many others) have used successfully. 1. Remove the little plastic panel that covers the air filter duct on the right hand side. 2. Loosen the right hand bolts on the right hand section of the fairing (one at the bottom, two along the top of the fairing) 3. Using a ball-ended long hex tool, loosen the top of the 3 bolts on the duct. You have to do this litte-by-little, ensuring that you always have good traction on the bolt before applying force. - note that you do not need to fully remove this bolt. The plastic duct has a cutout in the top bolt-hole so that you can slide it off the bolt once it is loose. Leaving the bolt in place is a good idea, it won't be easy to relocate if removed. 4. Loosen the other two bolts. These need to be removed completely. 5. Remove the duct 6. remove the air filter, and clean or replace. to reassemble, you will probably have to remove the rubber concertina connector from the air filter duct, replace the duct and bolt in place again using a ball-ended hex for the top bolt. Again, do this carefully. Now re-insert the concertina connector - with the right hand part of the fairing loose there is enough wiggle room to get it in place. Tighten up the fairing replace the little plastic cover over the duct done. The reassembly is tricky, it took me probably 20 minutes. The rest is easy. By the way just my observation - I used to use a power tool to do the fairing bolts, I don't do that any more. There is a risk of cross-threading a bolt without being aware of what is happening. I use hand tools now.
Bullshit
I suggest quit using electric impact to start bolts. I end up helicoiling so often on ppl’s bikes. Start it by hand then use if inclined to. Just my 2c.
Unfortunately he forgot the rubber leash during the rebuild
Leider hat er beim Zusammenbau die Gummilasche vergessen!!
When I removed one of the 3 screws from the air filter, the metal thread part that was supposed to try inside, came out with the screw. Does anyone know if it can be fixed? If so, how? Thank you
Yes
Hey, I need to ask u something, can u share your Instagram or e mail pls?
great content. used this video to change the brake and clutch fluid on my 2011 Multistrada. thanks for making this video. my bleed valves were 11mm and 8mm.
How do you reset the oil light?
Thank you for this video. I'm about to embark in a similar process, change air filter and also the fuel sensor on my Mutistrada.
Are you sure that part number will fit? I have a 2014 ducati monsters and the rox website has a different part number.
Very helpful video, thanks for sharing this with everyone. Do you face difficulties in putting your Monster to neutral? It's a big headache for me. Do you think it's something to do with my clutch? Thanks in advance
Very well made video. Thank you. Subscribed 👍
Thank you this helped me a lot. First time removing the tank on this Monster.
Hi Is that the socket I see?.... did you install it?.... what brand and model is it? Thank you
My first day ever was yesterday. You did great.
I’m currently changing the clutch on my multistrada. I replaced everything correctly, but when I went to squeeze the clutch lever it was rock solid. Do I need to start the bike first
100% overtightened that filter! ‘Hand tight’ means with your hands on the filter, not your hand on a wrench! 🤣 These filters a prone to leaking when wrenched on. The nut is only designed for removal.
What year is this MultiStrada? Is the fuel tank similar on a 2010? I want to drain my fuel tank without removing the tank by disconnecting the fuel line and letting it pour out -- if that's possible. I have old gas in the fuel line that needs to be drained.
Good job. Thanks.
Had to do the same to change my fuel filter. Way too much work to change air and fuel filter...
Is the oil cooler lower than the sump is there a drain plug on it
What rear stand do you have? I’ve been looking at a lot and can’t find any similar. TIA!
Pitbull
do you have a video on changing spark plugs?
Not being funny but this can be done by simply lifting the gas tank from the front of it. It tilts back giving you access to the filter
Question . Per the service manual it says to have the bike upright with the both wheels on the ground. My oil is perfect that way. However when i put in on the rear stand like you do. It looks over filled, thoughts?
great video, however there is a reason why torque values are given by the manufacturer for screws, bolts and in this case oil filter...harbor freight sells a very affordable torque wrench
hello, got a ducati monster 821 from 2019 -4500 km from a duc dealer ,now the problem ai have is when you put it in 1 st gently release the clutch lever , halfway the travel off the lever it's not smooth but reacts brutal ( called some 2 dealers in my country belgium day say it's the lever adjustment or the ticknes off the oil , dat's loocs to me a bit to easy to me, thinking it's a major problem inside the clutch , hope you sir can help me out off this annoying issue !!!
Great video. I like how you put the strip on the bottom of the screen showing where you are at and what tools are needed on each step.
ok
ok
ok
Did did my 2011, great video. More work than my 06 Sport Classic
Fry, the Service manual for the 2020 Ducati Monster 1200S recommends 3.9 liters of engine oil. I wonder if your stated 3.7l applies to a different model year.
my 2015 is 3.7L
11:34 i heard that..
Needed a 3mm, 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm hex to remove the bottom panels. The two small ones were the L shaped hand held, and the two larger were socket connected (3/8) from Canadian Tire. I had to use a propane torch to melt the lock tite inside the Center stand bolts. Wouldn’t budge without a bit of smoke. 😬 I had to jam a screw driver through the oil filter to get it off as I didn’t have a oil filter wrench. Then a 17mm socket for the new K&N filter I bought from FortNine. All in all a time consuming procedure, but next one will be easier.
Center stand next bolt size: 8mm
Good video. Thanks for posting it. Having said that, you are looking at one of the reasons I sold my multi 1200 s touring. Routine maintenance should not be this involved. This is absolutely absurd just to lift or remove the tank. Air filter can be accessed easier than this as many have said. But just to change plugs or lift the tank for wiring accessories etc.. this is absolutely ridiculous.
How is the 15' 1200S holding up? Any major issues so far? Whats your mileage. I just bought one myself and your videos are the best I can find on this year and model. Thanks for your hard work putting these together.
Thanks for the video. It helped me visualize a little of what I was getting into on a 2017. The two gas lines up front were the hardest part.
Great video. Helped me a lot. Thank you👌
3:19 do not over tighten like the previous yahoo that changed the oil last time did!
Well that was quite complicated procedure for just replacing an air filter 😂 remove the whole tank etc jeez..
