Temagami - Iceland Lake to Wasaksina Lake
It might have taken a hot minute to publish this video but I think you'll enjoy it! Lots of fun, laughs, and some slight misadventure with our annual Labour Day (yes, 2022 haha) camping crew.
This time we set off into Temagami through Iceland Lake into Wasaksina Lake via Driftwood. As usual we got hit with some pretty strong wind but were able to stay safe and make the best of the long weekend.
PS Bucky was fine after a few days. She was not able to keep anything down for a day or two but some boiled chicken, rice, and pumpkin helped her work it all out. Anyone who has ever had a dog throw up in the canoe knows just how rough that paddle out was for us!
More videos from this summer coming,...

Back again to Northern Ontario to revisit Quetico Provincial Park. Taking a different route this time we enjoyed a four day trip into Rawn Lake, lucking out with an amazing island site! This time we decided to make a road trip out of it so we hit the road up to Thunder Bay making some stops along the way to enjoy the beauty of Lake Superior and it's shores. Thank you for watching, I hope you en...

My fellow Paddle Like A Girl alumni Morgan and I spent the weekend in Algonquin in the prime of July. The weather was perfect, and so was the company! We had tons of fun paddling and portaging our way through the Canoe - Tom Thomson - Burnt Island Lakes loop over 3 days. I'm sure we will be on more adventures together again! Thank you so much for watching!
Burns, Bugs, and Bears - French River Provincial Park
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
Back to the French River! This time we checked out a different area of the park, starting at Hartley Bay and working our way into the solitude of the Pickerel River, heading down to Georgian Bay. We set out with a site in mind and you can see for yourself if we got lucky or not! 😅 I wish I could have captured better footage of the bears (but the GoPro is a really wide lens and everything -alway...
Crab Lake - Kawartha Highlands - Girls Trip - 1st time in the backcountry!
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.2 года назад
My friends and I headed out to Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park for a bit of weekend relaxation. What we got, however, was wind, waves, and a last minute adjustment to the plan! The headwinds were gusting at 70km (which is exactly what we didn't need for their first backcountry trip) causing us to reroute and stop, in the name of safety, on Wolf Lake. We made it into Crab Lake the second day ...

The Massassauga Mission: Overnight on Spider Lake
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.2 года назад
Welcome along on our first canoe trip of 2022! Albeit a short one, it was fun to get back on the water and enjoy some time outdoors. We decided on a Friday that we wanted to head out on Saturday so we put together a quick overnighter on Spider Lake at the Massassauga Provincial Park near Georgian Bay. We were really lucky to have nice weather and a tolerable amount of bugs 😅 I hope everyone has...

Rain - Jubilee - Islet Lakes Loop - Algonquin Park - CRANEBILL Portage!

A mid-September trip to the West side of Algonquin Park with friends! The weather was beautiful (for the most part😅) and we had a great time paddling and portaging through the Rain Lake area. This loop was a commitment to portaging but absolutely worth it because I finally got to check out the big portage between Cranebill and Islet Lakes! Northern Ontario - Quetico Provincial Park

We travel into the northern lakes of Quetico Provincial Park for a few days of beautiful views and some windy paddling. Joining us this time were my brother Matt and his puppy Lucy 🖤 (who both did awesome on their first ever canoe trip!) I feel pretty lucky that we were able to go on this trip given the wildfire situation in Northern Ontario. We will have to get back soon when its safe and do a...
Blackcat Lake Loop - Haliburton Highlands
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.3 года назад
Myself, Matt, our friend Ryan, and his little dude Troy (and of course Starbuck!) recently enjoyed two nights on Blackcat Lake in the Haliburton Highlands! Despite the fishing being a total bust everyone had a good time swimming and relaxing. I went for a solo paddle and employed all my new skills learned at Paddle Like a Girl! I love Haliburton because its a real backcountry experience despite...
Four Days on the French River - Eighteen Mile Island Loop - Part Two
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.3 года назад
In Part Two of our journey around Eighteen Mile Island we stay at one beautiful site on our second night, one not-so-great site on the third, and run some fun rapids! During several hours of paddling we were rewarded with beautiful scenery and weather (although the headwinds were still out in full force!). We finally join the Main Channel of the river and travel West back to the put in, complet...

We use our new Esquif Prospecteur Sport to travel down the Mississagua River in the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park! 17 portages over 2 days was worth it for the view of beautiful rapids and falls and the chance to run some fast water. This was a great introduction to river tripping and I can't wait to get out some more! All of the rapids have portages. There are a couple of swifts near the ...

Kawartha Highlands - Serpentine Lake Loop - Fall 2020
I am planning to go to Temadami in 4 days and this loop is on my list. Do you have any maps with campsites, etc.? It is going to be my first canoe trip to Temagami. Thank you.
12:15 OMG, I thought they were InSIDE your tent at first. Very interesting video such a great area.
where. did you get the bug shelter,,thanks. liked your video
Hi! Just checking to see if you’re still doing RUclips?
My wife and I went and did this exact trip this weekend, even stayed at 600. I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for putting this video together so we could watch it and prep for everything. Very helpful and well edited!
Twig stove mighty Matt!!
Rachael, which action camera are you using?
I’ve been out there where it rained a straight 5 days. You have to keep a positive attitude and keep moving and making progress. A good rain suit is a must.
Pickerel out of Stanton Bay can be tricky in any wind. Looks like you all picked a good calm morning.
Hopefully you checked those dogs for ticks. They didn’t used to be in the north part of the park but they seem to be migrating up that way.
Rachel, there is a rare 5-star campsite right on Batchewaung Lake just after your portage you took from Nym. It’s just East of the portage on the mainland where the portage is, on a point to the right of the portage, if you are looking at the map. Very nice. Not right next to the portage, but nearby.
It’s nice to have positive female nature out in the woods. It uplifts the spirit of men.
It’s good to see you in the stern of the canoe. Plus I saw how you got the canoe on your back with a pack already on. Well done.
Nice video. Well done. Thank you for doing this.
Quetico is in Southern Ontario.
You need to get a map. It’s western Ontario
You said site 910? Where is that. Have never seen that numer
Love this - can’t wait to get back to my home a l’eau from home ❤
How do you have so little stuff? Your canoes are nearly empty

Rocking canoe adventure, haven't explored Temagami yet, got to make my way there.
New Subscriber! This video came up in my feed this morning, which is crazy because a few weeks ago my buddy I spent a few days on that lake at the same site and the scenery was just breathtaking. Enjoyed the video and your guys point of view of the trip. My wife spent some time with Tori a few years ago before we ran the Moon River and had the same smile you did for at least a week lol Tori is phenomenal at what she does. Thank you for sharing.
Its been a few years since I've been down the French, thanks for taking us on the voyage. Love drifting by rock and pine! Have an amazing day!
The portages that you took to get to site 600 I've heard of people lining their canoe through some of them. Were you able to run any of them before you camped?
Wow. Amazing trek. Loved the northern lights and the foggy morning pics.
Great group trip . Temagami is a great location for groups .
Good stuff! Pupcam at @13:25 was the best!! I think I'm finally heading there this weekend...
Have a great time! It's a beautiful area
