I can not find a link for this carb tool that mounts on the carb
Nice
That was very interesting Ric & Laurie!, I learned things!... We like Laurie!, I'm still very grateful for the expertly taken photos of my first solo FLPHG flight, I cherish them!.. My friend walked in part way through the vid and said "I didn't know James Blunt was into ParaMotoring" haha😊. Cheers!, Keith W.
***Atom80 MY20-22 with WB37 carb is 22 minutes not 90***
Hi been watching you guys for ages do you think at 58 I'm too old to learn this paramoteing
Hi Geoff not at all! We have taught people over 70! As long as you are nimble on your feet it shouldn't be an issue
Thank you for this. I've had several motor outs in a row after holding cruise speed, 5000-5500RPM, for about 10-15 seconds. I think it's too rich. (Moster 185 MY20)
Lovely set up ric. Just wondering why you are using the old airbox set up?
Hi Adrian it's a much better fit for the comp bottle that is all
Good luck Ric and the rest of team GB
Way far from real tuning procedure. Please follow Scout Paramotors instructions for the right method.
Before adjusting your carb don't forget to check that you haven't got any leaks anywhere along the exhaust system. If you have then this will upset the "back pulse" and your engine will run erratically and this changes as the exhaust warms up/cools down.
I accidently turned the H needle just a little bit today, what should i do now, the idle is abit rough and high vibration. I was trying to replace my throttle cable end cap/termination when I accidently turn the H needle.
@@joatmon_servant I would speak to Your dealer if its in warranty? If Not set it back to Factory settings.
@@northernskies the warranty already expired last year. According to the datasheet, the H has to be set at 1 Hour + 30/40 min, but how do I begin to set it to that configuration, do I need to fully close the H screw first then turn it to 1hr+30mins?
@@joatmon_servant he's thats correct fully close then reopen to that setting.
@@northernskies alright thank you for your help.
Great video man !
Glad you liked it!
Do you have a part number or link to the Sky Bound adjustment tool @3:20? I need one!
www.skyboundaviation.uk/products/walbro-low-jet-setting-tool
@@northernskies unfortunately, skybound doesn't seem to want to ship to the states. If any of you brits want to make a pound buy some and ship em over to us.
Great clarity on stuff I've often been concerned to touch. Cheers Ric @northernskies
Nice one Ric. Nice tutorial vid mate. I'm loving the the carb adjustment screwdriver. Way better than my 'L' shaped fixed screwdriver I have.
Cheers it's really useful! The data speaks for itself I've had a 100% reduction in wrist burns since finding it!
I've had my fair share of burns during carb adjustments. I feel your pain boss.
I always thought that carburetor settings was a bit of a dark art but you've now made it accessible to all of us. Thank you team Northern Skies; excellent tutorial!
Glad it was of use!
Excellent tutorial video, extremely well produced. Thank you Ric, Joe and team at Northern Skies
Thanks soo much glad you liked it!
Cheers Dan!
Even sticking with the same wing but dropping a size or two can give that next level of progression in terms of how dynamic a wing is. If you want improved XC performance a more advanced wing should be able to achieve that but at what cost? Less comfy ride for better efficiency? There's a lot of factors pilots don't take into consideration so a great topic to cover.
hi have u any sponsors daniel? because it does help.
I'd love to do a full podcast, really delving into the subject one day. I seem to remember the very first time we spoke was on this matter 😆
@@TONYPARAMOTOR I'm sponsored by Bulldog Paramotors which definitely does help but not by a wing manufacturer.
@@northernskies I never did get that snake 🐍
Great stuff guys! Really helpful info there. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
HMM any u-tube vids the people can see during your progression.e.g how long have u been flying paramotors? have u any sponsors? what wing do you fly?
Omg joe ❤
Очень красиво зашёл на посадку!
Great content. However, I would recommend lapel microphones. The audio is very echoey and distracting.
Hi Matt we have taken onboard your advice. Hope you found the latest episode a bit easier to listen to 👍
hi.when a pilot wants to buy a paramotor wing from a UK dealer.who arranges the shipping .when the wing is ready to be shipped.?
Great to chat with you Ric. Fingers crossed we get some better weather for the rest of 2024.
Nice one Guys ... your podcasts are now on my 'playlist' 👍
I've been to all the parafest events. organized by Mark Meds and helped with all the marshalls. I do not know all their names and if I did. ill buy them a pint. but?. I can't because I am skint. The 2016 parafest event I remember... it was MAGIC. I am looking forward to the event.tally ho.. thumbs up😀
nice one guys, can we Fly there can we drink there....ha ha see you soon
Good job guys
"I have flown with the Vipers for many years and still have the Viper 4, even though I bought a Dudek Drifter. Although the Drifter is a good wing, it tends to lose a lot of height, so I sold it. The only wing I can think of that might perform better is the Ozone Freeride 2. I have flown with the Freeride, Nucleon, Doberman, Dudek Reaction, Driftair, Viper 3, Viper 4, and Warp 2 (which I had a demo on). Have you heard any news about Dan Burton's fatal accident in 2021?"
Good luck with the podcast and videos!
Cheers Dan 👍
Nice quick video tutorial , thanks mate 👍🏻
Great simple video great reminder, thank you
He doesn't like to blow his own horn but he's "quite experienced"! So I'll blow it for him. British Open Paramotor Champion 2021. Great instructor, he's been doing this for well over a dozen years and it shows. Brilliant school, brilliant field, brilliant club you can join once you pass BHPA club pilot qualification, and a brilliant group of people who really make you feel like you belong in this brilliant hobby!
Brilliant school. I had a fantastic training experience with Northern Skies. Ric has a very patient and knowledgeable style of teaching. Bought all my gear through Ric at Northern Skies, I'm glad I had some guidance there. Hope you are well Ric, I've had an incredible year up in the air, the British weather has been a challenge at times but makes it all the better when it's good. Davy Hunter.
Too easy
Awesome video! My friend had a difficulty when turning around, his glider would fall to one side. He fixed it by trying to keep the risers level during the turn, or compensating with some brake pressure, which works well for me. 🪂
aren't you supposed to grab your throttle first?
I was thinking the exact same thing at the "first thing, you grab your brakes" while looking at the dangling throttle 😛
If you watch the video dumb ass he is showing in simple terms first without the engine running then if you notice he already has the throttle when he actually does it when is engine is already started. basically the brake handles go over the hand when you have the throttle in your hand.
Nicely done! Thanks
hi . a new video" paramotor new type of helmet" from tony lawrence
Why do you turn the opposite way from the hand with the throttle?
Unfortunately the 360 footage was corrupted so had to cut that bit out. Basically that will mean that your throttle hand brake line will travel underneath the twisted risers clear and you can take both As with your non throttle hand.
Luvly Jubbly ...
Class lil Video Ric, thanks for sharing
