So I get where she got garlic not being ok. Most google results (atleast in my experience)say it’s not ok but in small quantities it can be beneficial. Then you have material out there saying it’s toxic so when one article is saying it’s toxic and the other article saying it’s not great but in small quantities is actually beneficial so as the dog owner I personally would air on the side of caution and just avoid it altogether so I do get that.

Raw food is gud or cooked food for dog?

So what do I add to this recipe to make it complete? Because as it stands, I’m about to make an incomplete food for my dog. As I feel less inclined to trust companies to make food for my dog.

Too many carbs

He's right. Omega 3 is missing. My husband makes our dogs homemade food, and he includes beef liver, chicken hearts, sardines, as well as sweet potato, kidney beans, kale, and spinach with very little brown rice. We mix about a cup of homemade food with about a cup of Purina Dog Chow kibble because the kibble already has the necessary vitamins and nutrients already. Im with him, This dog is in danger of becoming malnurished.

she put the rice in for Bulk.. You put the rice or cornmeal for bulk.. I actually don't know of any store bought dog foods that are that good as what's she's making.

Even with crushing the seeds, my dog isn't digesting them. Is there anything I can use instead?

What are your thoughts on whey for dogs? We make homemade cream cheese and use it for our bread recipes but heard its great for dogs too.

This may be out of your lane, but would you please consider a video on Degenerative Myelopathy diets & supplements for the variant that attacks German Shepherds and causes paralysis? It's still a huge problem in one of the most popular breeds on the planet. Dr. Clemmons at Univ. of Florida had a famous home-cooked diet in the 1990s for D-M dogs, but nutrition has come a long, long way since then (he believed it was an autoimmune issue that attacked the spinal nerves). This video has me now thinking that Lions Mane should be in the diet of any GSD who tests positive (A/A) for the D-M gene. I would love to see a video about how to feed a dog carrying the A/A D-M genes (or whose genetics are unknown), who does not yet have symptoms, to increase the odds that we keep the gene "turned off."

I have had some amazingly good results feeding "6-hour bovine colostrum" in very, very sick rescued dogs, including severe IBS. It worked better for one of my dogs than vet RX meds. I've known some who used it as support for rescued "parvo puppies" too--once they survive, their GI tracts are completely trashed and have to be rebuilt. It has to be the "good" one that is certified as true colostrum not milk - the Immune Tree brand is affiliated with colostrum researchers at Cornell University and is available as a powder (dogs LOVE the taste). It's pricey, but it works (there are too many fake colostrum powders that are just plain milk powder, without the powerful compounds we want). I had never thought of adding it just as a regular dietary supplement for healthy dogs (I've only used it for very sick dogs), but you've shifted my thinking on this!

I can’t believe that anyone listens to this self-proclaimed „world-famous wildlife nutritionist”. He’s talking absolute nonsense. This guy still believes kibble is good and contains all the necessary nutrients, which completely disqualifies him in my eyes. And let’s not even mention his low-class behaviour- mocking and laughing at others.

I just found your channel and love your content! I'm glad to hear you endorse feeding fresh herbs! YAY!!! My German Shepherd really likes the taste of "green." He craves it. We actually stopped his grass-eating habit as a youngster by adding some fresh herbs into his food. He was on high quality puppy kibble, but his body wanted fresh, green stuff -- and once he started getting regular access to fresh parsley, basil, and a variety of culinary microgreens, he stopped being interested in trying to eat grass.

Can i cook beef with the fat, carrots, peas and a eggs for my dog? What else shall i add?

I have been making my dogs food for many years. My little Havanese is 17 and perfectly healthy. I prefer to know what my dog is eating. I mean, how do we REALLY know what they put in dog food. You'll be surprised if you research it.
