Ralph and Johnny own the rights to the name new edition I don’t think Ronnie bobby Ricky and Mike did or would agreed to that so they to go out as Ronnie bobby Ricky and Mike rbrm aspecallly if they don’t have Ralph and Johnny just looking from outside and with limited knowledge

It’s good that they made RBRM because that’s another group with great songs worth in New Edition

I went to that concert and it was amazing I loved it. I didn’t miss Ralph or Johnny I’m sorry I said it. Ricardo Ricky Bell did his damn thang!!

Ralph was typecasted. The producers only saw Ralph as NE lead singer with MJ voice.

Who would BBD be without Ricky? BBD only had a one hit song. Bobby Brown had his time to shine in the 90's after that he fizzled out. Not one promoter today is calling on him for anything. The man from the 90's is no more. So, what does he do, fall back on New Edition to pick him up. I'm so sick of everyone on here putting Ralph down when he put his solo project on hold to try and pull New Edition. I will continue to say his error was that he did not do as Michael J. did; he should have dropped them like a boiling hot potato, and left them in the hood there they probably would still be. The industry didn't want them they wanted Ralph. Ralph never needed them he tried to pull them along with him. Johnny never walked away from Ralph, get that lie straight. Ralph could have been bigger than or as big as M.J. Wake up from the 80's and 90's people. Bobby Brown had his shine and it is over, over, over. All that money he made is gone, gone, gone on babies, women, cars, drugs and booze. Again, no one is calling on him. He is back where he first started. I applaud Ralph for being a loyal and true friend to them but it was not returned. If I could go back for Ralph I would have dropped kicked them to the curb for Ralph. Without Ralph there would be no BBD, no Bobby Brown. Ralph already proved he could perform without them. If Ralph walked away right now from New Edition, I guarantee Johnny would go with him. Bobby Brown can barely put one foot in front of the other. BBD got their one hit that made them famous in a way. So, who really needs who? If Ralph only had one hit song, then what did Ricky have as a solo artist? I’ll go ahead and tell you NOTHING!!! At least Ralph has some accomplishments under his belt, what do any of you have? From what I’ve read Ralph has amassed more money than BBD and Bobby Brown.

I think if the management would have use the original blueprint of New Edition Ralph would have had a very good solo run also. We must remember the original blueprint was for Ralph Bobby and Ricky to all have leads on different types of songs. While having mike and Ronnie do little parts here and there. Unfortunately the management decided to stick with the one lead singer format. But it was not written for them to go that route. Everything worked out the way it's supposed to work out. Because they are now getting their flowers while they are alive to smell them.

When Ralph album came out music was about to change in a big way.This was the dawn of the age of jodeci and R Kelly. Ralph first album was very good for that 1990 swing. It was his second album that brought his solo career to a halt. Because like i said before 1991 was the beginning of the age of jodeci and R Kelly. Those two unstoppable forces force alot of acts to either lay down or get with the program. Also we must remember Bobby Brown's second album was vibing really well with that new sound that was coming in. Remember Michael Jackson dangerous album was on fire. So all of these things was going against Ralph. Although Ralph has some pretty good songs on his non successful albums. It made me to realize this. Just because you are successful as the lead singer in a successful group. That don't mean you will be successful as a solo singer. New edition was great because the way how Ralph played off of the other guys. Personally i found his solo stage act to be very boring. He needed those guys to help him shine. That's how important new edition is every one played their part in the group. I love listening to Ralph songs. But I won't see him live without him being with new edition.

As a fan from day one I think the communication between the group during that time or whenever can be a little better even if they have to sit a day or two in a room just them as a group figure it out me Looking from the outside I think RBRM was also hurt/ mad for R&J taking ownership of the name it was stated to secure that nobody outside of the group taking the name again communication is the key so the guys during that time all had bills I think they went out to keep their money flowing "communication" is the key in the end they have each other & their families# NE4life

Ralph is and has always been a hater! He's still bitter cuz his career didn't take off like the rest of the 5. People would pay GOOD money to see a BBD show with JUST their one poppin album - Poison. Wootie Mack was aiiiiiiigh't, but Poison will forever rock a crowd - no skips. Ralph's self-titled album got 2 good hits - I ain't paying money to see JUST him!

The truth is they had to go out as RBRM because Johnny had just trademarked the name "New Edition " and refused to tour as new edition unless he was paid for them using the name. Ralph was just caught in the middle. Johnny did that because he was mad that his family wasn't in the miniseries so he used the trademark as payback.

I remember when the members of New Edition did separate projects. Ralph saw the success of the others and he admitted he thought about how his album would be perceived. At the time, Ralph did not want to do vulgar music. We all know that's what sells. The beat and the vulgar lyrics helped the others to be more successful. I saw an interview where Ronnie DeVoe said he had a hard time with the lyrics "the low pro ho" on BBD's Poison song, but I guess he got over it after the money started flowing and Bobby Brown got arrested for lewdness with a woman on stage at his concert. Johnny Gill was a solo artist before he joined New Edition. Ralph wanted to keep his music more clean and respectful. Despite doing that his solo album still went Platinum. Was it worth it to him, I don't know, but when New Edition performs, true fans do not want to see New Edition without Ralph. The others have talent, but without Ralph, something huge would be missing. Take his voice out of every song and see what you get.

I love Ralph. I love ALL of the guys, but come on, Ralph; what did you expect the guys to do? You and Johnny put division between y'all and the the group and called yourselves playing chess with the guys for whatever reason(s). And I'm not taking anything away from Johnny, but he is not an original member and in my opinion, he should have tried to be more of a buffer instead of taking sides. After all, where was his loyalty to Biv? It's because of Biv that he was even brought into the foal. And why was JG bought into the foal? Because Ralph had separated himself from the group! Ralph stopped showing up to shows. Biv sent his mother once to Ralph's house to see what was going on and he refused to open the door for her (she knew he was home). That hurt Biv; he couldn't believe you would treat his mother that way. The guys decided to move on, as they should have. And I feel you wouldn't be this salty had you had the solo success that the others had. But remember, YOU left. Regardless of it all, I HOPE this BS is truly behind y'all now. Your fans love ALL OF YOU. We thank y'all for great music; New Edition, Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, BBD, and whatever other NE combinations y'all got going on. WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Some people don't seem to understand when groups form with the lead singer in place for years, when that lead singer is removed it's like you remove a central corner stone. Why?? Because it becomes the main engine of the group or the chief leader of a group! Even tho the others may remain and carry on the group it's going to feel different and be different to the public and the band. Change is good but but you will suffer a lot of negative feedback. Losing a leader of a band after many years is crucial thing to deal with and hard to maintain and it will never be the same!😢

Come on man. I thought after the NE movie came out all their differences had been aired out, and everything was on the table. NE doesn't communicate for some reason if an issue comes up. I really like all of these guys, and just want them to peacefully coexist. NE is my all time favorite group forever!!

I feel Ralph because he had the opportunity SEVERAL times to leave New Edition...especially when they were younger, but his loyalty was always to New Edition, so to see this story about them just leaving him behind...Hell, that breaks my heart because I don't think a lot of fans new that. Wow! It's always those back/behind the scene's stories for me. Well, I sure hope they got things together. I know their tour had been going well, so I just hope they all made peace with each other. They are truly one of those groups that we have always rooted for...then and now.
