    I bought one just like 40 years ago( minus the stand and motor). It was in the middle of a snowstorm and some rural roads were becoming impassable. It was in a chicken coop at an amish farm and was complete but in poor condition . I put it in the back of my vw rabbit! I built a stand for it and installed a 3/4 hp motor. I learned a lesson when refurbishing it. I was taking apart the fence locking mechanism and removed a set/ hex screw that was retaining a shaft and i couldn't separate the parts- unbeknownst to me there were 2 set screws in the same threaded hole. I ended up stripping some left handed threads on the shaft and had a machinist fix it. The lesson i learned was to nver assume there is only one set screw in the same hole and for whatever reason there were 2 in that one !!!

    Did you try re-torquing the head to see if the original gasket was properly clamped up? A lot of folk seem to find the head will tighten down a fair bit after it has run a while. Might just have been enough to solve the oil seepage if there were no other head gasket failure signs like coolant loss. It's interesting that one of the changes made when they designed the AD3-152 engine was to add three more studs down the intake side of the engine that must significantly improve the chances of a good seal there.

    • @thedelcodave
      @thedelcodave Месяц назад

      @@ColinMill1 I did not try just a retorque. It's not much more work to change the gasket and it was neat seeing the conditions of the cylinders. I looked up pictures of the ad3 engine and I bet those extra studs fix this common problem completely. Even when I was looking at mine I thought it was odd there was no head bolts along that oil passageway.

    • @thedelcodave
      @thedelcodave 2 месяца назад

      I have since sold that saw but typically if you remove the air filter you should see where the line exits the tank and connects to the carburetor. You will then feed the new fuel line from the top and many times you can grab the end with long needle nose pliers or Hemostats though the fill cap hole and pull into the tank. You attach the filter last.

    You did not show the most important part. After you get your filters in place turn on the fuel and then bleed the first filter inline and then bleed the second filter. Both bleeders are at the top of the filters. This gets rid of all the air bubbles. Any air left in the line and it will not start or it will run for 30 seconds and motor will die. If so just re bleed the filters again I use XP3 diesel fuel treatment the best I ever seen for getting rid of water in fuel A bit pricey and hard to find. Last time I bought it it came from Canada. . They have it for gas motors too.

    As a WoodMizer owner making my living by sawing for over 24 years, I was surprised that they suggested quarter-sawing this way. I found this on their website and you got it somewhat right. You are ending up with about equal quantities of flat, rift and and quarter-sawn, which is not necessarily a bad thing but if you follow the WoodMizer directions you will get mostly quartered with a bit of rift and no flat. Also, I cut many yard tree logs and saw through lots of hardware. At first I did like you and looked the blade over for damage. It's not always easy to see the rounded teeth, but don't fool yourself. Also, you knock the set out of the teeth. Do yourself a favor and change blades. Remember, a bad day of sawing is way better than a good day in the office

    • @thedelcodave
      @thedelcodave 4 месяца назад

      You are correct one ended up with a variety of cuts of cherry. I have not tried this method again because it seems harder to do this way. Lots of flipping and turning. I have since encountered a variety of foreign objects in the wood and you are correct a lot of time the teeth are not visually damaged but the set is gone. I just do this for fun it's been a good learning experience so far.

    Traditionally, the alignment was the inside of the tyre in line, for ploughing the front wheel against the furrow wall. You have a tidy tractor, I have a 240 from 1984.

      That makes sense. The farm I worked for has many Massey's from the 1980s. I have run a 245. The bulk of their tractors are 285.

    Women don't want leather couches. Men wipe their you know what away. They don't get pregnant. 😅. Models didn't have bulimia. They got pregnant. That was morning after vomiting 🤢 . You don't want Leather couches. You want fabric. Preferably one with plenty of cotton textures.
