I’ll share my thoughts on some favorite features from these highly desirable cards and point out a few bad decisions from card maker (with love from my 7-year-old self). 🥰

    Temu is selling a c'mon get happy Pin. Put Partridge Family in the Temu search bar. I bought one last month. Partridge Family was my favourite TV when I was a kid. I still listen to their music and always play The Partridge Family Christmas CD every holiday.

    Just found your channel! I'm a 60 year old guy and have always been a fan! I saw David in Rhode Island Island at his 2nd to last show. 😢 I have an original 1971 lunchbox as it has no markings on the bottom that say 73. Unfortunately, I have the 2nd plastic Thermos that must've come with the 1973 lunchbox which has Chris #2. I must have broken 2-3 of the glass originals! I have other collectibles but I was mostly a fan of their albums and David's! Of course the TV show too! I wish I could find a loving home for my collectibles!

    It was a great era for television. That 1962-1968 age of TV was gone, or going. The Partridge Family was different than the Monkees. They made it VERY clear that this was a fictional, musical act for TV. BUT, you got pretty good actors for the TV show, and great musicians and producers for the records. The series was eye candy for kids, and I know my dad didn't mind watching Shirley Jones, and the singing of David Cassidy was as top notch as anything from the era. Karen Carpenter, Peter Cetera, Jim Croce...David belongs right there with ALL of them.

    Super nice collection! As a kid back in the 60s-70s I started collecting Batman, and the Monkees. But when the Partridge Family came out, I was into Odd Rods and Wacky Packages. TBH I really wasn't to much into the Partridge Family toys since the focus was on how cute David Cassidy was, you know, paper dolls and all that marketing for little girls? My collection consists more from their records than anything, along with what came with the albums. I have a Partridge Family lunch box that I bought for my lunch box collection, and a Partridge Family paperback book. Thanks for sharing your collection with us.

      @MyPartridgeFamilyCollection 10 дней назад

      I'm glad you liked it! And yes the music really set them apart (even from The Monkees I think because as a little girl I couldn't really relate to them). You just sent me back too - my little brother LOVED those Wacky Packages and Garbage Pail Kids. 😆But you're right - the merch was targeted more to little girls. I guess it was big gamble for Topps to put out 3 sets of cards knowing that boys probably wouldn't collect them as much. I'm still learning so much about the PF. Thanks for taking the time to comment - got me thinking! 😊

I have 2 wax packs and one of those are graded which I bought for 15.00. Looking forward to the next Album spotlight, Have you read the paperbacks if so how did you like them?

    • @MyPartridgeFamilyCollection
      @MyPartridgeFamilyCollection 10 дней назад

      Hi David! Wow - great price on the graded wax packs. I imagine they are worth way more than what you paid. I do have the paperbacks. I'm more fond of the ones written by Vance Stanton. There seems to be more humor in his books, which I like. I always wished they would have based the PF cartoon series on the books and made them like the Scooby Doo mysteries instead of putting them in the future. Wouldn't that have been great? I'm planning on sharing the paperbooks soon. I'm working on the next album spotlight - so stay tuned! 🤗

    These stupid organizations with thier silly little awards ultimately means nothing. Who are they to say what's what? Its a joke! Rock music is for the people, not to some unqualified arrogant, pencil pushers who had a little money to create some kind of fictitious organization. It's about the hearts of the fans, and what the music means to them. That's the only thing that matters, not because of some applied status that a handful of losers thinks is right. How is it that certain artists get away from scrutiny when others aren't? The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Mamas and the Papa's all recorded the same way as did the Monkees, and David Cassidy did. Yet the later is ridiculed and put down as for being fake? David was one hell of a singer. He got that from his dad Jack who was also wonderful singer in his own right. David's contribution was before the days of computer enhancement such as auto tune. David pulled it off because of real talent. You had to be able to really sing or play back in the day. As much as David believed he wasn't legitimate because of the "bubblegum" he sang his peers whom David looked up too and wanted to become actually admired him, if not became jealous of David, because after all Rock music is a business and at the time, David was selling out stadiums and coliseums around the world. Also, like you said, out sold the Beatles that year in 1970. David also had the largest fan club membership of anyone at that time too. To me that is a wonderful legacy David left behind. David changed lives with his music. Wheather it's about that warm fuzzy feeing you get when you remember back in the day, or perhaps it influenced you to become a musician, or to work in the music industry, David left a positive influence on so many people from that generation. Regardless of these stupid awards, it's more important that we have his recordings. It's the TV series and the recordings that will continue to create new fans, not some retar*ed mention of a few nobodys.

    Patty, this made me cry alot! So wonderful a save from oblivion something so precious! I would do anything to have my Scrapbook that I had, back, and all my records, pictures, etc., of David!!! anything....Without out getting into to much of the pain and brokeness I feel, on a public site, let me just say that my older sister, destroyed and /or discarded All, of my David Cassidy Memorabilia,- posters, ALL the magazines, records, pictures, all my Disney stuff, everything, out of total jealousy, and I have got nothing left! I am currently saving digital copies, etc., on my computer, and it is so wonderful in it's own way, but not the same. It's a long story, as I adored David back then, and eternally, now, and she liked J. Denver, but I got to meet John at a concert, backstage, with my sister, and he went for me. He dated me, and so when I moved to another state, and said I would come back for my things, My beloved mom died. My sister cleaned out our childhood home, and destroyed everything out of being mean. I have never loved anyone like David, I can unabashedly say this, and I am who I am, and became inspired in every way, because of David. I pursued my dream of being a Disney Animator, and Imagineer, because of David, etc., etc., and, I just wish I had my Scrapbook. It was, as good as that one, and I have scoured thrift stores, hoping to find just one, to no avail yet. Just crying right now, for all that I have lost. Can't say anything more right now.

    Another interesting factoid is the fact that some 45rpm records were actually a plastic molded Styrene pressing. Bell Records often had their 45s pressed on Styrene. This process was used by most record companies from the late '50s through the '70s. The Styrene pressings were less durable and would wear over time with repeated play. Additionally they were susceptible to cracking and breakage. Another interesting fact is the so-called mono versions of the promo records from the late '60s until the early '80s were not true monaural. They were in fact what was known as a fold down from the stereo master. This of course was done for the AM radio stations because they were not broadcasting in stereo. You can reference this on Wikipedia.

    The Partridge Family song "I Wanna Be With You" is NOT the song that The Raspberries (featuring the late Eric Carmen) did from their late 1972 album "Fresh" & went to # 16 (Billboard Hot 100 or Top 40 charts) in January 1973.

    Besides The Partridge Family, I also loved "The Bugaloos" (Sid & Marty Krofft NBC Saturday morning TV series from September 1970 till January 1971 & then the reruns till September 1972 & my # 1 of all the Krofft shows) which there were only 17 episodes. I also have The Bugaloos "The Complete Series" on DVD!! Retired actress Caroline Ellis (who played "Joy" the pink butterfly & lives in Palma de Marroca, Spain with her family) was my first crush!! The late Martha Raye (who played the villian "Benita Bizarre") was a hoot!! I also have Partridge Family "Complete Series" (all 4 Seasons) on DVD!!! Did the reissue of Season 1 (or the Complete Series DVD box set) contain the last 1:32 of the episode "A Knight In Shining Armor" (with Bobby Sherman & Wes Stern)?? I do think that actress Jean Smart (of "Designing Women" & "Hacks") might have done Shirley Partridge had there been a remake of the TV series. I also have the remaining material of both PF & the late David Cassidy solo all on remastered CD's (except the last 2 DC "Christmas" & "Songs My Father Taught Me") which I decided not to get or download on Apple iTunes!!! I watched the reruns of the PF for the first time when I was 10 years old in September of 1975 BUT Arista did not reissued the catalog until there was "Greatest Hits" in August of 1989 on CD.
