When I picked up this sled, it had been parked out back next to a garage for years. 600 motor was locked up, and it had various other issues. I put it back together with extra parts I had around, and found a Ultra 680 motor on Marketplace cheap. Took some custom fab for coolant tank, motor mount, exhaust, etc but it all came together!

VERY nice, i loved the 94s!!! i remember riding with a bunch of guys back then and i had a 94 vmax and other friends had 94 zrs and one guy had a 94 xlt and that was an awesome sled. i cannot lie, i switched to polaris a couple years later.

Normally I would never stick around to watch this, but the last short had a 150 bending a McLaren over its knee...so now I feel obligated to give each f-1fiddy vid a fair chance ...
How did you get this exhaust set up?
@@GabrielGamerGT45 I put it together, cut off stock exhaust right after the cats, put in a length of 2.5” pipe after each cat to flowmaster 44 mufflers. Then I attached 97 GT tail pipes

@@GabrielGamerGT45 It sounded great for a v6. Just swapped a 5.0 in it and actually kept the same exhaust set-up
I have a 97 gt 4.6 and auto trans and I bought a 94 gt 5.0 with a 5 speed I won't to convert my 97 with the 5.0 and the 5speed both cars are complete no missing parts. Hard hard would it be to swap and I thought about changing the Efi throttle body and intake the a carb setup like you have done. Any advice would be great.
Cool, some things I found during the swap- I am running a HEI distributor just because it is a easy, single wire hookup. The K Member is different for the 94 than it is on the 97. I found out the hard way because the motor mounts on the 5.0 won’t line up in the 97. The best would be to swap in the K Member, but on mine I used the 5.0 mounts, but just put them on backwards (Left Mount on right side, Right mount on left side) and it lines up almost exactly. However had to enlarge the holes a bit. I don’t know how the transmission will Mount going from an auto to a 5 speed, would assume same Mount but not sure. I’m also running a really small air cleaner for hood clearance. I had to run a separate fan switch and power wire for the fan, seperate power wire for fuel pump, needed a bypass style fuel pressure regulator, just some of the extra things for a carb setup.
I’m wishing to get a mustang like that one, and make it sound like a v8

I remember when the 650's came out. They were mowing them all down and are still no sloucher by even today's standards.
XLT's are decently snappy if you get the clutching just right and will almost crack 100 if the conditions are right. I've owned two and I was happy with their performance.
Nice job. Those older 600's are hard to find now, that one is a keeper. I would look for a set of triple pipes, should add about 20hp.

The setup you have is a lot better than the stock pipe the ultra sp came with. I think that was one of the worst stock factory pipes they ever used. Those older Indy suspensions were great for top end. @@chasedahmermotorsports

Seriously one of the most badass things I've ever seen. I was lucky enough to see a green Bullitt Mustang at Road America in Sept. 2022 during the Ariens Art On Wheels. It was parked near the pedestrian bridge right before the finish line. I wonder if it was the same one as here? But damn I would've loved to have witnessed this amazing sight. And at the greatest race track on the planet too.

Still have the original seat, as well as dyno port pipes! Probably going on this year.
The 580's were the best. Bullet proof engines and when properly clutch were very quick out of the hole. They did about 98 on hard pack with no headwind and you could hold it wide open for ten miles and put your hand on the top of the engine. I liked to loosen my front limiter strap and with the old 8 inch suspension you could pull the skis up to about 50 mph. I could never get my 95 w/xtra 10 to pull the skis, but it was a Cadillac compared to the 94.

I had this exact sled purchased new in ‘94. I miss the sound of that baby triple spooling up lol.
make sure it has or install the 4th oil line on the pto bearing or that engine will be non existent. common problem that blew them motors up
Not on the 1993-94 580 cc engine. The PTO crank bearing lubrification failure are on the 95-96 600 cc engine. The 580 cc engine are bulletproof ;)

He would have to rejet it if he does that. I have three of them with psi pipes my wife . my Daughter. And I had them rejeted and they sound awesome
@@ryanbenbow-zx2sd rejetting is common when we would go from prairie riding to the mountains. We used to carry a little jet pack with pilots and mains to adjust for the altitude and temperature.
@@sarneli_yycDid you make sure they was the right size jets. My friend has A IQ shift 550 fan. The dealer didn't put the right size jets In. He don't race it He can use my wife sled to race
Oh yes, we were meticulous with jetting for the conditions. There's no such thing as one size fits all when it's carbureted.

I've owned 2 Indy 500s, both 1991 and fans and man we're they fun, still quite fast to todays standards too.
