    There is a huge difference between an insurance and a warranty... There is no warranty on any of st.croix rod. Their story of 15 years warranty must be investigated by a court of justice.

  • @barry4fish19
    @barry4fish19 Год назад

    St Croix essentially does not have a warranty any more. If you break a tip or other section, you pay for it, and the shipping. The sad part about your situation, it was the blank that broke, not some other part of the rod, so they should have rectified it. Sure, the rod was old, but a warranty is a warranty. Their entire fly rod lineup has tanked now, let’s see if they can recover, I have my doubts even with a new leader at the helm. Most companies don’t learn from their mistakes and their reputation among the fly fishing world has suffered - too bad, they did make some great models at one time and I still have a few of those.

    Why did St.Croix stop making the 1990's Legend series? I own many expensive rods however, my favorite is the St. Croix Legend series.

    THE SLOT ON THE SIDE OF THE CAN IS A SLOT FOR USE IN STOVES, THE ONES THAT COME IN A PLASTIC CARRYING CASE LIKE A CASE FOR A DRIL, IN ORDER FOR THE STOVE TO WORK IT MUST BE ALIGNED PROPERLY, KINDA LIKE A SAFETY SYSTEM. SALUTE FROM A VET

    You can get way higher mAh 18650 batteries than the little LG ones. I would suggest getting a battery bank that will hold the bigger 21700 and spend a couple dollars on a nice set of batteries. Instant 10,000mAh bank for about $30-40. Bring another pair in a plastic case and up your capacity for cheap ($10-20)

    As a comparison I’ve got a 1986 Starcraft mariner which gets 6mph top speed powered by my 1983 Johnson 9.9- I fish rvr often and use a 55lb thrust Newport vessels trolling motor to troll- at top speed my trolling motor gets me to 4mph but I only use it to 2mph on setting 3.

    I However, as a Marine corps veteran and court officer, it is my humble opinion after 62-yrs of fly fishing? St Croix makes the best legend series fly rods on the market especially the 9ft 5/6wt rod. However, the Elite and Ultra are totally and without questions, shit rods...Utter Garbage Rods. (Must be made in China) ... Never would I waste a dollar on anything other than legend original, NOT ULTRA OR ELITE... Otherwise look at Sage or TFO rods for a much better rod for value!

  • @JLPryce
    @JLPryce 3 года назад

    I own 4 St Croix Legend Ultras, broken the tips on 3 of them. St Croix honored the warranty and replaced broken with new components. No hassle.

    Dude, I gotta be honest. Maybe they didn’t handle this the best way humanly possible...but we’re talking a rod that’s decades old at this point. I don’t think it’s *entirely* reasonable to expect a company to fulfill that obligation. This rod has potentially seen hundreds, if not thousands of fish. Even under normal conditions with someone who takes care of their gear, it’s been scraped, bumped and bruised, loaded in and out of vehicles, the list goes on. All the people in the comments section going “Yeahhhhh! Loomis all the wayyyy”, just shut up. Shimano/Loomis is probably my favorite fishing manufacturer on earth and I’m pretty sure they would laugh you out of the room if you tried to claim warranty on an old, heavily used rod. At a certain point, you have to know when it’s time to BUY a new rod. For godsake, I have an NRX that’s almost a decade old and if it broke tomorrow, I would mourn it, I would be sad but you know what? I would buy a new one. Rods are like humans. Every rod has a certain number of fish in it just like every human has a certain number of heartbeats. EDIT: btw, how are all of you idiots in the comments breaking these rods on the first/second trip...I’ve owned dozens of rods over the years and I’ve NEVER experienced anything even close to that. Ive broken a grand total of three rods...two were old, one was a shimano expride and it was completely my fault. I’ve never broken a single st croix. I really have to question how something like that happens...yes, rods will break due to defects here and there but you can’t treat it like a club assuming it will be replaced if anything goes wrong. Good god, man...

    My friend just broke a brand new st croix setting the hook on a bluegill. The rod broke above the reel seat. They agreed to replace it but wanted him to pay for shipping and said it would be over a month because they were on back order for that rod. The company is warranty is trash. I believe that backorder story was a lie. I will never buy a st croix. TFO all the way

    Don't refillith butane alone. They will not perform the same as the isobutane/propane mix across the range of temperatures and altitudes you will encounter. Either refill from another larger cartridge of the same type or buy a new one.

    I had a worse time with redington fly rods; after sage bought them. Before sage bought Redington they were amazing. It seems to me if you don't over pay like twice what the rod is worth then they don't honor the warranty ???
