Knapp Farms
Добавлен 9 ноя 2020
Small part time family farm in North West Indiana that does a little bit of everything from raising beef cattle, and honeybees, to growing corn, hay, soybeans and even a little bit of saw milling we always have a project going. We use almost all old equipment so there’s almost always a repair going on as well.

Man I love that tiny old bin, especially with those kind of cicadas (Scissor Grinder) buzzing away. We have those in Iowa. The ones here in MN have a boring call, just one long steady note.
Hey dude,,sorry to hear about the cow dying. That sucks, but its farm life.
How is dingleberry doing❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Love the channel, really like the corn grinding.
Sorry to hear about Mama cow and hope Dingleberry’s offspring does well.
nice calf hope it keeps growing and stays healthy. good luck with your cows, it if bad when the cow just die for no apparent reason.
👍
Making that cow chow 👍👍
👍🏻
A landscaper I worked for in ‘86-‘87 had a’74 Fleetstar former Ontario Ministry of Transport snow plough truck with a 478 and and Allison 4 speed single axle, but it was a pig on gas compared to his ‘72 Ford LN8000 single axle with a Cat 1160 with a 5x2 trans and a sander.
The 2010 and it’s heavier Fleetstar 2110 were the gas versions with 478 and 549 V8s. They also had the legendary IH 450 Red Diamond ♦️ in-line 6 gasser that the counties loved. Dodge used the 478/549 V8s in their C700/800/900 swing fender trucks for those wanting bigger power than their own 361/413 big blocks. The Fleetstar 2050s had midrange diesels like the IH DV550 (a converted 549) the Cat 1160-3208, Detroit 6v53 and Cummins 555 V8s. The Fleetstar 2070s had big bore diesels like the 6-71 Detroit, Cummins 250, 270, 290, and 350. They were produced from 1968 to 1977 when the S2200/2500/2600 took over. They all had short hoods with a 93” BBC for pulling 45’ trailers in 55’ states.
My 2070 tandem came from factory with a 549 Gas
Just remember, there’s a reason they quit making 3 wheelers. Be safe!
I really enjoy your videos looking forward to seeing the crops grow when you go on your little ATV tours record it it'll be awesome Hondas are the best machines made you need to adjust the valves on that Big Red those are dang good machines looking forward to seeing more thanks for taking me along how's your dog doing take care God bless
When i was young the cultivating was done with a Farmall H. I enjoyed it, i have my Grandpa’s H and found a cultivator for it. Would like to get it mounted and have something to cultivate.
Love the videos, I especially like your equipment. It reminds me of the equipment my Grandfather used.
Dig the 3-wheeler! Crops look good. Yeah, a front-mount cultivator would be very nice.
neat seeing all the different crops. you do a great amount of work! working a 40hr. job and farming along with the videos! does not leave much time during the season of farming! good luck and take care!
I've been watching your channel ever since Dirt, Grain, & Steel mentioned your channel a few years back (Gleaner parts). You work your tail off and I appreciate you putting these videos out. Nice to see you growing pumpkins, asparagus, & sweet corn. Keep on making video content.
Fields definitely looking good, plenty of water, should be a good year farming. Don’t like the 3 wheelers with the single wheel in front anymore, getting too old. I love my Ryker with the single wheel in the rear !
Corn looks pretty good. I like your three wheeler, l have two 250 big reds myself
Neat video. Speaking of weeds, do you have much trouble with water hemp? We have it everywhere including our neighbors. Ya don’t see 3 wheelers anymore, look great 👍
Angel is a good girl
Yup, coolest truck by far.
Looked like the boys at the car show were waiting for a wheelie ! Balin’ looking good.
great job, it is great to be ahead of the game with hay! it is so much better to do it over having to buy hay because you were short. how are the cattle doing? dingle berry pulling his weight? how many caves did you end up with season ?
International trucks have car shows. IH Scout & Truck Nationals. I went to one in Ohio many years ago. Look up a 47-49 KB1. Or the Scout ll. Early 70's pickups were nice too.
That show is also a swap meet for parts.
We had a 856. Truly great tractor.
I use this same picker....... travel is way to fast ! Shelling on the rows ! Corn cant even make it up the elevator ! Nothing should be bogged up !
That whole field could have been wind rowed into 2 rows.. dNg that's thin..
Sorry to see this. Amazing to me how some had zero compassion and only negative.
Our picking equipment was the 560 diesel with a New Idea 2 row mounted. Worked great. Lots of late night November evening's picking.
Miss the days of filling silo. We had 2 22x80s. Chopped with the 856 and a New Holland super 717. 3 H&S boxes,1456 on the blower, dragging wagons with the MD and the 560 diesel.
Do you cut any silage for storage?
Juat found ya,,trying to fet up to speed.
856 is one of the best Red Power tractors ever built.
Nice driving to get the rows right where you needed them.
near hives! lots of bees on the combs. do you ever oil the chain? or will the fine dirt destroy it?
Yup used motor oil sometimes actually use chain oil or lube when we are feeling fancy lol
👍
Good video 👍👍. Did you guys get rain Thursday night? We got 2.5 inches.
Yup we got a little less then that but we can honestly use it we are good on moisture but definitely not too much
@@knappfarms ok yeah we’re glad we got it with the hot week ahead .
I bought a fleetstar 201OA at an an auction a few years ago. It was a near by county fire dept. water tanker. The tank was rusted out in the tank bottom, but truck was nice. Bidding started at $50, a couple of guys ran it up to $200 than bidding stopped at$200. I bid $250 and got the truck. I used it for tree trimming around the farm. Drive it under a tree with a 8 foot ladder and trim high. I sold it to a man who needed the engine for a nice profit! Nice truck memory. Why didn't the seller give it a good wash job?
great job, you have to have the hp & weight to get things un stuck from the muck! what a difference probably 1000 pounds makes for better traction. great job, and nice video.
Buying our own mixer (used) was one of the best things we ever did in our cattle operation while I was growing up. Hauling ear corn to town loading and unloading it by hand was a ton of work. Not many mills custom grind feed anymore, if you are going to raise cattle making your own feed is almost a must. Used mixers can be found at all kinds of prices. I would like to do it again.
nice tidy drill there and looks like its going well nothing wrong with older kit at all , that's what i have too , just come in from mowing some grass for silage with my good old IH 674 and 5ft drum mower bits will break if its new or old kit , my mowing kit was made in the 70s too , nice to see that corn come up in a few day
I love seeing the old tractors still in use, especially the gassers. They get no love most of the time lol
That planter looks like it’s working great. Love your close-ups showing the actual operation. 30 acres, good job, in the dark too !
Those seem like good ol’ planters. Nice shot riding in the marker arm.
Units not pounds 🤣
That's pretty neat. I'd never seen what it takes to keep bees or heard why the smoke is used. Thanks for showing that.
I never was really told to use graphite in my corn planter. What's that supposed to do
It is just dry lube for the corn meters so the gears and belts get a friction reduction as the corn goes through extra the life of the belts
