Great tutorial! so far I've made 10 of these. I tried other methods but yours is the best and easiest.

The best sewing machine for beginners is not a throw away machine like the one shown, but a vintage machine. Only idiots cannot solve the problems with them. They last a life time, are extremely strong. The problem is, that they are so good, that they will last much longer than you live. And that is a problem. For the sellers of new machines. Who pay people to make videos like this. If you want far superior quality, simplicity, beautiful stitches, upper and bottom tension that can be reached, cleaned and really adjusted and don't cost you an arm and a leg (say 50 dollar), buy a vintage machine. Beginning of the sixties will do fine. Kenmore, Singer, Elna, Bernina, and many more: they are all perfect.

I love the method! This is a fun method also tuck some lace into the side seam. 😊 I also would recommend using sewing clips instead of pins to hold it around!

Wow, I wish all product reviews on RUclips were this clear and thorough! I've been wanting to break into the sewing world (nothing fancy, just think I'd enjoy knocking some clothes together out of old scrap material). However, every attempt I've made on my mother's older 30 y.o. machine has ended in frustration. I've decided I need to invest in something super duper basic (and hopefully idiot-proof).
