she blew me away on Thursday, in fact the whole cast did. Incredible!!! <3

I was lucky enough to get a last minute cheap ticket last week. Sat in the front row and she was absolutely incredible!! I'd never seen the show before so couldn't compare to others but I am absolutely in awe of her! I was also lucky enough on that show to see Orpheus on his debut - can't remember his name now but he was such a nice chap, very talented and bumped into him after the show when he said it was his first time playing the lead - I never would have known!!

Really like this rendition of the song but I hope he isn’t putting too much strain on his vocal chords. I saw it a few weeks ago and he did spectacular but it sounded like he was on his last legs. There were a few understudies performing as well so I assume a sickness was going around the cast. A few days later they had to cancel a performance.

I swear this is My favorite Orpheus, and I say this wholeheartedly since I have been following hadestown since the beginning of the pandemic! I was so lucky to see it at the west end and been aware of the og broadway Orpheus and the touring ones, this is definitely my fav, he captures the Orpheus of the tale with so much sincerity and tenderness AND wit. Love that this was the Orpheus that I got to see live!

I'm addicted to their voices.. they're my favourite orpheus and eurydice I think... thank you so much for sharing this with us!!

I personally did not find his voice to be anything special, but his acting is amazing. I feel like he's just yelling, whereas others sang, but when I went I felt like he was yelling at the audience the entire time. Some members in the audience said the same thing too, but the show was still great!

I dont like the accent for Eurydice. As a Brit! I think it restricts the airflow for some notes, making them breathier or cutting them off early. And Eurydice (at least in the broadway recording) has a very trailing, complex voice.

I didn't really like his preview performances that the official Hadestown channel posted a while ago, but he sounds great even from this fan recording. You can really hear how much emotion he is putting into it. I am glad the West End is getting an amazing interpretation of this fantastic musical :)

Oh I'm so glad you have these. I wish I would've seen Hadestown sooner so I could've seen it a second time in the west end but I only saw it two days before leaving London and I won't make it back before it's gone. :( I love Donal Finn's Orpheus so much

hmmmm, i'm defintely missing the "the more he has the more he holds....etc" this version might have to grow on me. it's so interesting the jounry of this show, there are bits from each version of it that I love along the way

The emotion in Dónal's voice is breathtaking here. I mean, that's true of all his numbers (especially If It's True, my gOsh), but here it really is so visceral. You understand and experience his despair so tangibly...

Peak of musicals got a standing ovation when I saw it

I saw the show a few days ago and I Donàls performance of If it’s true was absolutely marvellous! His acting was heart wrenching. His vocals so strong! Still can’t believe what I got to witness. It really really really was fantastically played

The previous lyrics were actually sadder, imho.

Oh i really want to see them dance! Hope they will release an official video some day.
