I had so much fun meeting up with Hollie and doing this videos, she will al...
All About Hypos: The Basics of Diabetes | DIABETES AWARE 🩸
Просмотров 994 года назад
In today's video I am discussing HYPOS! Whether you are a non-diabetic or only recently diagnosed, I hope you can gain some insight and valuable information from this video. As a Type One for 12 years, I understand the confusion non-diabetics experience when I mention 'hypos' and 'hypers'. Whether that is, they have never heard the words before or get confused as to which one means 'give sugar'...

The cinnamon thing People get very confused, cinnamon cures diabetes like insulin does- it doesn't cure it. What cinnamon does do is lower blood sugar. It increases glucose transport into the cells. It makes insulin more efficient at transporting glucose onto the cells. If you aren't a medical professional or a diabetic, please don't give diabetic people random info you found on social media and expect them to thank you 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ ok rant over, fab video girlies ❤

😂😂 I can see both tbh, I even had to properly look at my necklace to remember what it was. It has been so long since I filmed the video

This is hilarious and I had so much fun filming it with you! (and I'm totally not advocating injecting the president with insulin)

Thanks so much for this video, I learned so much from this. I honestly want to do my best for people but don’t want friends to feel like I’m being nosey or invasive but at the same time this is so important. Thank you 💖👏🏽

Laurajayne Nolan I’m so glad you gained some info from this video! Obviously I can’t speak on behalf of every diabetic, but I love when people have genuine interest in knowing about diabetes. Sometimes yeah it can be difficult to constantly explain the same things. Although when people have been so misinformed and are genuinely confused. I love to be able to properly inform because not only is it good to know, it could save someone’s life ☺️ are you or do you have friends that are diabetic?

Diabetes Aware I have friends who are diabetic 😊 that’s what drew me to your channel, I wanted to learn a bit more about it without badgering them with questions all the time and also learn about it from the perspective of a diabetic person, as opposed to some doctor just spouting facts.

Laurajayne Nolan thats great that you are going out of your way to learn more about it for your friends ☺️ If your friends are ok with talking about it, I would definitely recommend asking them about their experience and how you can help. Getting to know their symptoms during hypos and hypers might be good to be aware of 😊 I’m glad my videos can help!

Ok, when you’re talking about being “a terrible diabetic” because you couldn’t take care of yourself... em, what 12 year old can? Like don’t be so hard on yourself, just because diabetes is common doesn’t mean it’s easy. It’s really f-ing hard and you’re so brave and incredibly strong to have gone through all this! 👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽☝🏽❤️💚🧡💙🤍💛💜🤎

Laurajayne Nolan that is such a good point to make. I always give myself a hard time but I know anyone in the same situation as me, I would tell them the exact thing you said. I don’t often look at myself as strong or brave, it’s something I’ve only started to do. I’m grateful for people like you to tell me often so that I can start to see and believe it 💓

Well done Hannah for having the strength to make this film and getting to where you are with your T1 and mental health. You spoke from the heart so bravely & articulately about the journey you've been on and I'm sure made it easier for others to reach out for help they might need. We've all been chosen to fight this fight. Keep up the good work. Mark

I'm extremely proud of you, for sharing such personal things and for actually overcoming so much. I'm obviously not a diabetic (yes, even if I have glasses hahaha), but I do relate with the struggle of mental health. It used to be this horrible thing which I couldn't get a grip of and it did break me, I struggled for two years to get back up on my feet. Getting help and going to a psychologist was the best thing I ever did. It also makes your surrounding realize that something is really up and you're not just being dramatic, which is so stupid because you don't have to justify the way you feel. Anyway, I'm so happy to call you my friend, this video made my heart swell and I lerve you! Gonna hit up Anthony Padilla and get him to talk to you about the wondrous world of being diabetic x
