OUR NEW STUD PACK 2 CHANNEL!!! More work, more videos!!!

Hey gang, we started this new channel to give you all more content! In this video we are installing the soffit, the LED’s in the Niche, AND having a ton of fun. Hope you all enjoy it!
Put some leg levelers at each corner to prevent rocking and makes it easier to move the table around. Great job !!
A beautiful table by a beautiful family! Paul is great teacher and clearly a great dad. My dear grandfather played a similar role for me when I was growing up and taught me skills that I never knew I needed but have used to great benefit over time. That table will be cherished and repurposed for many, many years. (I picture it becoming a craft table for the kiddies, covered in with Lego sets)
Thanks!! Covered in Legos would be insane! I actually built a "lego table" for my kids years ago; had sides on it to contain them all
Great project - not too complicated, super useful, and saves a ton of money over buying something at a store! I might have tried some black stain before using the black paint to make it more durable from feet kicking it, but time will tell if it holds up. Another thing you could still add is some low-profile feet to put on the corners of the base. If they install via screws, then you can back them out a tiny bit in case there’s any minor variations in the floor and the table will still be well situated on the ground without rocking.
There's one more item that I suggest. Place 4 feet protectors/spacers under the legs and, if you want, the bottom stretcher. If the table is to be moved in the future the new floor will not be scratched or prevent the table moving with the rubber type feet or if the table needs to be moved, use something soft like felt. Use the material that you best prefer for the purpose that is deemed best.
Paul, out of everything I have seen you make, summer is one of the prettiest. Rad is one lucky guy! Keep up the great work, guys.
Thanks 👍
Wow! That turned out great. I was a little skeptical after watching the first video. However, after seeing the final product in this video, it turned out great. Great job Paul, Summer, and Rad!
I was skeptical too :)!
Pro Tip: Make sure pens and pencils have a pad underneath the paper to prevent indenting the soft wood. BTDT. Homework memories...
Excellent teaching video and it's a perfect project to involve your daughter in the process.Great blessing to see your kids learn a new skill and accomplish something like this new table. Every time she sits down, with the family, to share a meal together she will remember her dad investing into her life. 10 out of 10 Paul!
Thanks Mike!!
Summer, thanks for putting your hair up! Last video made me nervous.
Thank you for a simple design & finishes that most DIYer can copy or modify!! It looks terrific!! KUTGW
Thank you very much!
As I have built in gutters, do I need to do anything different in regards to the bleach solution being on the membrane?
Knots give the wood character , dr Whiteside wood shop.
Perfect!
why are so many RUclips folks telling us the secrets that the man does not want us to know? the other day I was told the rain in Spain fell mainly on the plain, and I was like dude, shhhhhh
This turned out awesome. What a great memory that table will be for the rest of your lives!
Nice JOb Gal and Guys.
Awesome summer!!!! The boys need to get you a cute shirt
Awesome job 🎉love it 🎉
Only problem I see is trying to get someone to help you move in the future. Couch, bed, refrigerator, no problem, and...wait, does that table go, too?
Moving one of my sons today, he gets their old table 😁
Paul, Rockler sells a really cool bag that will contain all those chips, and if you're inside, it works well keeping dust particles to a minimum. I believe it ran me $100. I have that same planner in my furniture shop and it delivers great results.
Where did you find those bar clamps? They look a little sturdier than the ones I have.
There are two links in the description of Part I of the table build; an Amazon link and the place where I got mine: www.harryepstein.com/products/dubuque-60-usa-aluminum-bar-clamp?_pos=4&_sid=845a1dc09&_ss=r
Another stud pack standard project done and done well! Strong work, team!
I don't want to be a party pooper, but won't those apron miters separate when that wood moves across the grain?
Yes I mentioned that to Summer and the options to prevent it; I got overruled 😁
It's a bute, Clark
Paul For President - 2028! (The White House needs some renovating I hear ...)
whats with the drawers built into the wall in the corner? never seen that befor
Yeah it's a cool way to take advantage of the kitchen corner cabinet that was there
you can see the license plate on the truck at 12:50 if thats something you want to keep private
Finish this project by adding a cork topper for now, you know you're going to use that as a work bench during the rest of the remodel. Keep those dents and dings confined to the cork!! Good job Summer, Rad and Dad!
Thanks! Strict rule we have now: do not put any tools, etc. on the table top 😁
There's a few comments about Summer's hair, and I think it would be worth pointing out in a video that anything dangling or loose can easily get pulled into a high revolution tool like a track saw, table saw, etc. I always love the videos and the family vibes, so I would hate to think of one of you all getting hurt.
Poor Rad...no hug and kiss from Paul. :(
That is some beautiful hand writing you hand write essays or journal in your free time?
No, I learned cursive from Catholic nuns 😁
That was awesome. Gotta say you writing in the sharpie underneath got me a tiny bit teary eyed. Just a tiny bit ;)
You and me both!
Standing in front the board that you are ripping coming off the table saw is a terrible idea. Great way to get impaled if the board slips and is shot off the blade.
GREAT video, GREAT table! I enjoy woodworking, but I don’t have the tools (and patience) for traditional hidden joinery and other “fine woodworking” techniques. This is a fantastic design/execution that gives the look of fancy woodworking but uses “modern” hardware and tools to make the build simple. I LOVE it too! Thanks, Summer, for getting your hair tied up and out of the way… I was cringing watching your earlier work! Now, all we have to do is get ALL of you more attentive to hearing protection. I have measurable hearing loss in my right ear only, in a frequency range that says “power tools”. I’ve worked office jobs most of my career, so I’m pretty sure that pushing a circular saw for a couple of years as a contractor (and later as a DIY weekend warrior) was the cause. The loss was caught early ‘cuz my “office” job was at a paper mill that required everyone to get annual hearing tests.
Thanks! That was our goal. Been looking at hearing protection online; thanks for the reminder of how important it is
:( what happened to you fancy thick green pencil... i see you using a regular ol cutting them miters... them dang pencils can never stay still!
I could have 100 of them on the site and still not be able to find one 😠
You should look into a cyclonic dust separator for your shop vac. It’s a game changer for extending filter and bag life
Paul you did a nice job on that table. I make a rolling island for my square kitchen. It rolls into the corner or it baking a lot of stuff you can fold up the back for additional surface area and then you can walk around the whole table in the middle of the room. Built it in my living room over three weeks. That was a fun project for me.
Thanks! Love rolling islands... way under rated. I think one would be perfect for Summer's kitchen
.
Another 👍🏼👍🏼 video! (Personally, for “beauty” I’d have kept as many of the knots as possible visible if staining, but if painting it like y’all did, I’d have gotten rid of the knots too.)
Love Pica pencils!
Maybe it was just me, but I got a little emotional when you signed the bottom of the table.
We all did 😢
Table add-on video when Rad wants to add RGB lights underneath!
I love the table, but what I love even more was Paul writing their names on the underside of the table. ❤ I miss my dad. He passed away when I was 18 yo. Your relationship, Paul & Summer, brings back the sweetest memories for me.
Thank you so much!!
Awesome table.
Great build! Paul, you and I think alike, I have stuff in my truck for the what if's as well.
Those cardboard corners probably have 35,000 miles on 'em :)
I forgot who it was (maybe Mathias) that tested it but for the same amount of surface area, end grain makes a stronger joint with glue.
need more studpack dos pls
Like many others here, I was cringing and physically shaking in fear every time Summer got within cooee of a power tool with that lovely hair of hers falling wherever it did. I was SOOOOOO glad when she had put it up into a bun!!! Some safety protocols might seem a bit excessive UNTIL you find out the hard way - and Paul, if something had happened to Summer, you would never forgive yourself.
Is it just me? Every time I see Joirdan or hear him speak, I see David Fauistino
after seeing the painted black base, i almost think it wouldve looked neat charred! loved the "signatures" and date to wrap the project up. beautiful touch
