This is what happens when you learn to play the bass without anybody teaching you. Learning by ear at it's best.He's the very definition of greatness O_O

He plays the string, then gently touches it with his fingernail to get the harmonic (with his right hand), he can then bend it with his left.

This is great but sorry, the guitare player don't listen to vicotr wooten, he is just thinkin about what he does, he doesn't let enough space when it's time for victor to do a solo. Guitare player syndrome, they just let the bass player behind, and do their stars. Anyway, this is great and very heavy groove.

They all just get better and better! And so does the music!!!!! Just enjoyed watching a film all about The Funk Bros - brilliant! Disappointed I can't get over to The Isle of Wight to see Stevie at Bestival 2012, but I'll be watching on the big screen!

He's playing in Lawrence, KS two days before I go see Porter Robinson (also my birthday) this summer. I MUST SEE HIM!

Yeah...I had the "auto-level" turned on so it wouldn't clip but it can dumb down the sound. Sometimes it's best to record with the lowest gain setting to avoid clipping and then raise the levels in post-production for optimal quality...

At 1:46 you can clearly see this is a Deluxe model so it is indeed one of the V W custom basses. I should have caught that! Catching Victor live with Bela Fleck or on one of his his solo tours should be on all bass player's Bucket List.

The standard has a straight headstock and his custom has an angled one. this bass is angeled.

That is not the Standard (prototype), it is his Regular Ying-Yang custom that he has been playing for years. But he still does make it look easy.

Really nice basses considering the price point. Victor is playing the prototype here. I'll have one of the first ones 'off the line' when they are finished later this summer. Can't wait! Victor makes it look so easy.
