Once Upon A Time In Oasys Mini Hollywood - Andalucia, Spain - (2023) [GH5 + Contax 18mm f/4]
Просмотров 444Год назад
During my vacation with my family this summer (2023), I visited Oasys Mini Hollywood - a theme park used for multiple Western movies - near Almeria in Southern Spain. Because I wanted to challenge myself, I had only brought my Panasonic GH5 and an old Contax 18mm/f4 lens. I didn't know I would film their live Western show - and I could have used a zoom lens. When I got back, I decided I wanted ...

This small project concludes my first week in UE5. I've learned a lot, but I still want to learn so much. I have plans for a short film of some kind set in a cyberpunk universe. So I tried building a cyberpunk city. It's made with the free Kitbash3D kit Neo City: kitbash3d.com/products/mini-kit-neo-city I finally figured out how to make the windows emit light. I also focused on learning how to ...
Robot on Faroe Islands - Learning Unreal Engine 5 - Day 3
Просмотров 2982 года назад
I'm trying to learn Unreal Engine 5 to use it as a composition tool for short films in the future. Needless to say, I'm a complete noob. This is day 3 in UE5. It took me 8 hours just to make this! I really wanted the walking robot lady to stop in a nicer way, and I tried to blend the two animations (walking and idle), but I couldn't really get it to work. I guess I could have just made the came...

Cyperpunk street 1 UE5. Day 2 in UE5. I'm trying to learn Unreal Engine 5 to use it as a composition tool for short films in the future. Here I used the free Kitbash3d kit Neo City: kitbash3d.com/products/mini-kit-neo-city It turned out way too dark when I finally did a render. And UE5 kept telling me that I had exceeded some kind of memory limit on my graphics card. There's SO much to learn! I...

I'm trying to learn Unreal Engine 5 to use it as a composition tool for short films in the future. Needless to say, I'm a complete noob. This is day 1 in UE5. I just thought it would be fun to share the process. The first night. I focused on creating a simple landscape, a camera, and some movement in the foliage.

very helpful!
Thanks a lot mate
very good tutorial.
Thank you. I'm glad you found it useful :)
LOL the Saber plugin is the exact reason I was looking this up. Always awesome when you find a tutorial covering your exact specific issue xD
Any updates on this? Love it so far!
I'm sorry for my extremely slow reply. Yes, and no. The film is still in the pipeline, but I haven't had time to work on it for the last 6 months. So it's just sitting there. I will get back to it asap though, and it's definitely not abandoned. You can follow along here: filmdaft.com/projects/
We just had a baby pandemic that would provide lots of material for a good short film. Any takers?
clutch video
Thank you. Very Helpful. I appreciate your help.
You're welcome. I'm glad you found it helpful :)
Not sure if this is a dystopian future or just a bad acid trip. Might help if there was a plot or a direction but all I can see is this girl is high af and has the munchies. Better luck next time
Thank you so much,, i was stuck in a project for a while and frustrated, searched a lot over the internet for solutions, but found nothing, and eventually your video appeared in my feed luckily. Thank you so much for this tutorial. Lots of love❤
Thank you so much taking your time to write. I'm glad you found it useful. More tutorials to come in the future :)

Thank you for very useful tutorial!
Incredible three dimensional soundtrack.. Equal to the amazing visuals.. Must be experienced on good headphones.
Thank you, Mark. I'll make sure the sound guys see your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed. Best, Jan
I didn't know about the extract effect. Very helpful, thanks.
THANK YOUUUU! Quick and straight to the point tutorials. Love love love
Thanks man that saved a lot of time for me!
You're welcome. I'm glad you found it useful :)
Thank you so much, this was just what I needed. I’m currently editing a Super Saiya-jin Blue Aura effect using Saber for the Dragon Ball portion of my upcoming Anime related video. I had used a green screen when I shot the footage of myself. While it made Roto scoping easy. I had the hardest time, figuring out how to get sabers’ layer mask effect to work. Until I found your video! 😁👍🏾
I'm glad you liked it. Good luck with your anime!! :)
@@filmdaft Thank you!!! 🙂
nice my day 2 of unreal was nothing like this
Thank you. But to be fair - it was day 3! :) I still find it hard and confusing, though.
A great explanation. How a tree in the forest, and the background forest color is green, how to correctly buckle the branches
🟦 I wonder how far she had to walk to go from the atmosphere @ 6:33 to the nice clean air @ 6:38! Also,..... I have NO idea what happened @ 7:32!
thank you !!!
Nice! Just what I was looking for
Thank you. I'm glad you found it useful :)
Why doesn’t this have likes? It’s really good and even gives muzzle flash tips in the description! I’m liking it
Regurgitated plot etc. Nothing original.
Stunning, it's a wonderful showcase for the many talents you have. I wish you success.
Hi Cyril. Thank you so much for you nice words. Best of luck to you too :)
Too well dressed, fed, clean and safe to be a post apocalyptic dystopia.
You're absolutely right, and I've been annoyed by this myself. I wish we had the money for a make-up artist and the time. But this was pretty much a run-and-gun film, with me, my girlfriend, and a small handheld camera. Often we had to film a scene in a couple of hours - and sometimes with our baby son sleeping in a baby carriage next to us (if we were lucky). But hey we had fun... and a lot of stress :D
When I eat out of a can I usually just pour the contents in my mouth, but hey, different strokes for different folks. Other than that .... 4/5
Haha fair enough. Bon appetit ;)
some nice visuals early on. Otherwise flipping back and forth from unremarkable to preposterous.
This reminded me of a post-apoc RPG search corpse find boots wear boots search patch of sand find goggles wear goggles enchanted goggles +1 detection and cinematography search sack find 2 rations find metal bowl eat ration eat ration stamina low sleep
As a long time AD&D player as well as a fan of games like Skyrim, you might be on to something here 😉
an exellent film, congratulations!
Thank you so much, Carlo. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really appreciate it. Best, Jan
the way she ate those beans pissed me off...disgusting.
I think the writer had a bad acid trip and got someone to make a movie about it.
There wasn't any writer :D
@@filmdaft Also, there is no spoon. That's why she had to eat her beans with her hand. ;)
I like the film and the concept but… why in the world (other than to display ravenous hunger) would anyone open a can of beans and then scoop out the contents with their fingers? That’s a great way to introduce a LOT of germs directly into your body. Just open the can, and pour the contents into your mouth. I do like the idea of the goggles!
If you're super hungry and haven't eaten in days, you don't think straight and your mind doesn't work, as it should. I guess you could justify it like that? :) Thanks for your comment btw.
@@filmdaft Yeah! That’s true!! See… different perspectives really do help. 😀😀❤️
@@michaelstele5871 Hahaha... yeah... though on the www, different perspectives have a tendency to turn into flamewars more than bring people together :)
@@filmdaft Yeah, you’re probably right. But thankfully that’s not the case this time! 😀😀
A pair of socks would have been nice. Nothing like putting on a pair of boots taken from a skeleton. You never know where those bones have been.
The skeleton was a diva to work with and refused to wear socks. Hence we had to settle...
Would you like to play a game
Thanks a lot!
Whenever I eat beans like that they ban me from the grocery store.
You must be shopping in the wrong places :D
NWO little plot. Extremely mediocre and dull.
Why do science fiction films always use computers from the 80s?...I guess it's a cliche, like a Zippo lighter.. 😆
In a word most likely, budget,
@@verandisoldusty6834 I don't know about that... You see those computers screens even in the big budget movies.
@@verandisoldusty6834 What budget!? :D
I'm struggling to understand the ending.... so the whole movie she was making up her reality in like a dream-state? So she "wakes up" and she's still in captivity ?
This is a sort of sequel to War Games. Excellent movie. Reference to Dr. Falken in the first shots of the movie. Nice.
I'm amazed how many ppl actually caught this reference. Nice job :)
@@filmdaft The writer of the news story was "Lois Kent," but Superman failed to save the day. :)
