    What does airspeed alive mean ?? I thought Airspeed increasing would make more sense.

    • @cartoonringo
      @cartoonringo Год назад

      Between 0 to around 40kts, the air isn’t fast enough to move through the pitot-static lines to make the needle move, so it’s gonna read 0. The airspeed indicator is really a differential pressure gauge measuring the difference between dynamic and static pressure. “Airspeed alive” means the air has started to go through the pitot-static lines and actually reached the airspeed indicator.

I just got my PPL (after 2 years of on/off training) and planning to, some time soon, fly my 1947 Ercoupe from KGYH (Greenville, SC) to KTTA (Raleigh, NC) to visit our daughter. My plan is to first fly to KLKR (Lancaster County) and back to get familiar with the area before making the full trip. So your video was great as I have never flown near/under Class B airspace and looks like I can easily fly to KLKR under the 4000 Class B shelf without having to get involved with CLT Approach. If I can transition under the 4000 and 6000 shelves on the trip to KTTA it would keep me away from Gamecock MOA and make it a more direct route. Any thoughts would be appreciated. VIc.

      Thanks for the comment! Full flaps definitely feels different. The aircraft seems to want to float longer and settle slower. However, I have noticed that since it settles slower, if I roll out a little too high it'll drop for the last 2 feet or so.

      @@PrivatePilotAdventures Yes, had the same issue. Not good for a smooth landing and it's flat. I find that on final at 70MPH with full flaps makes for a nice soft landing. Timing on the flare works better as I do not have to wait for so long for the aircraft to slow down before the flare. Now, In the case of a strong crosswind, then i come in at a higher speed.

      Hey! Yes - I left it on so I can talk through the pre-start sequence. I usually have it off for start-up. Great eye!

    I love these videos. I do not have the opportunity to have first hand experience with the workings of how to be a pilot. Im an avid sim pilot (MSFS,DCS) but without real world experience its difficult for me to understand the difference between game realism and real life. These videos teach me so so much detail that cant be learned in books. Looking forward to more!
