If you want a less volatile and safer way to trade options on bitcoin, just trade options on IBIT. You could also go with MSTR instead of MSTX. Micro strategy as a company is already leveraged enough without adding 2X or 3X on top of that! 😂 I have been running a very conservative wheel strategy on MSTR and now IBIT since options opened for that ETF. Needless to say, it’s been a great strategy this year! MSTY and BTCI are two funds to take a look at if you want a passive, high yield ETF alternative with managers who do the options trading for you on the same two underlying holdings.

Good stuff as always. I've been selling CSP's on MSTR but closing them out less than 24 hours, sometimes for only 30-50% profit. But I too stress a bit about chasing that premium.

What was the delta for the 25 strike? curious.

Never traded MSTX, went for MSTY! Offers hefty premiums too. Trade NVDL from time to time. Geri, did you ever look at ZVOL? It's similar to SVOL but wy/o the insurance/protective lon calls? Offers a 25+% DY and you could do a 90% ZVOL/10% UVXY(as hedge/insurance, rebalanced monthly). I started it a couple months ago and it worked out so far. What do you think?

I still doing a lot of Puts and CC on SOFI its been my go too for the last 3 months. I like Sofi as a long term hold, but doing options on it to add $$ I will keep my core position but keep selling options on it. Cheers

I've been selling call credit spreads since weekly options were introduced for the week of November 29th. IV has already come down quite a bit since then, but gained a couple thousand without much stress.

MSTX is Great. It has weekly Options. I have already collected over $5000 in premiums buying and selling Puts and calls. I own 100 shares at $99 .

Yes I agree. I sell puts on quality stocks/etfs or those that I feel comfortable wheeling b/c i do prefer to take assignment so I can sell covered calls you make more that way. Given where the market is i have on occasion been selling naked calls but very high probability of profit trades and it will never be a significant part of what i do.

Do you ever sell puts on TNA or UPRO? I like the leveraged indexes. Good premium on indexes I wouldn’t mind owning.

MSTX is awesome! Sometimes, MSTX moves 1% in 1 minute. The crazy thing about MSTX (and leveraged ETFs) is the reset. As an example, on Friday November 29, 2024, MSTR closed at 397.96, MSTX closed at 104.60. On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, MSTR closed at 390.39, MSTX closed at 99.30. MSTR was down a little under 2%, whereas MSTX was down a little more than 5%. Having a gap down open followed by heavy selling pressure during market hours can be catastrophic for put sellers, especially if the next day is another gap down open. Frugal J

I trade MSTX and I do it like you did, sell a put way out of the money then look to close early in profit. I do the same with MSTR which I don't mind owning

Yeah 15% is too high. The market fluctuates a lot and over time you'd be better off using 6% or so. No point in overestimating returns. You'll end up not being prepared enough

Just closed some puts on MSTR for 70% profit. I’ve done really well on the a bitcoin plays this year. Take a look at BTCI by NEOS. Considering adding that to my high income ETF stable work QQQI and SPYI.

I like the IBIT options, but watch out for their margin usage.

Unless you plan to complete higher education for something specific (ie, doctor Lawyer engineering ) state school is not necessary. State school teaches you to show up on time and put in hours, in other words to be a worker. As Mark Twain referenced, never let school interfere with your education.

I don't know what you are looking at for people, but I talked to the kids, and I am basically just making thanksgiving dishes all week long. Im trying to lose weight, my daughter as stomach issues so overeating really doesnt work well for her. My son is going where his Dad is going day of, but Im going to cook just a turkey, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie day of. Cranberry, corn, brussel sprouts, crescent rolls, chess pie, are all getting done earlier in the week and spread out as sides with other main dishes. Reduces work to normal daily load, and we still get the good stuff.

I set a top of 70% in equities as I found that I don't misbehave when the markets go down. I bought some defined outcome ETFs (using calls and puts) to replace my fixed income portion. So far that is working fine. I don't have the brainpower to do options myself.

I am so Thankful for SOFI making Bank, it is on Fire. The stock, the puts and I do not buy Leaps often, I usually sell premium, but glad I did they are up 10X. I did add an SOXL Put (After you reminding me how good premium is) it is in great shape, may be able to close after 2 weeks for 80% profit. I sold a CELH put last week expired worthless. I bought one awhile ago right after you talked about it. I jumped a kids car at work that I’d always tell “hey you left your lights on” when he would sit in his car a look on his phone.
