    Hi Haaris, lovely video as always. I have my level I exam on 20th August and I didn’t start doing mocks yet. I wanted to ask if you feel MM’s mocks are a decent representation of what I could see on the real exam or if I should get the CFAI package. Thanks for this vid and your responses - seriously. Final question - I’ve been watching MM and then attempting to go through the CFAI chapters after each lecture for LII and it has been so time consuming and frankly, disheartening, when trying the EOC’s because I feel like I’m not retaining anything from the CFAI text. I think I might give the IFT notes a shot. I know you passed but looking back, did you feel they were thorough enough paired with MM that you didn’t miss out on topics or info by skipping the CFAI text? I used Kaplan Schweser for L1 and I did not feel good coming out of that exam (though I passed) because I felt the way Kaplan worded the material and presented their notes was not only different than how the CFAI presented it but they also were less thorough. That’s my biggest fear with skipping out on CFAI’s official text. Also, where did the IFT High Yield notes fall into the mix exactly in your study plan? How were those used and do you think they’re necessary?

      On the high yield notes, if you review something and you don't feel like you understand that topic, go back to the main lecture notes and read again / watch the review video (don't have to do this for every topic if you understand some parts more than others) - the HY notes help keep the curriculum fresh in your mind but if you don't understand it, they won't help Deffo focus on structured response (SR) questions - search RUclips, Mark Meldrum has some videos on how to answer If you're using him as your prep provider, do all the SR mocks, and attend the live walk throughs (they help so much) Otherwise hopefully you have review videos / high yield notes - try to review 3/4 videos every morning - then smash out questions (try do all the ones on the CFA learning ecosystem) Good luck!

    MM costs over a thousand dollars! The most basic programs are over $350 and $650. With the level of complexity and competition, I don't see how people can choose the lower packages, they are practically forced to buy the most expensive. Oh, and the materials are just rented because they are timed constrained to the exam date you registered for. This is a money grabbing industry, CFAI are practically criminals and it's all a fraud. Where's the return on the investment and your life? There isn't for most people, more than just a boost on your ego. Oh, and before you try to dunk on me - Ivey league graduate here, full merit scholarships, 97% Gmat, so the fxck I don't know about discipline and hard work. I excel at my work and read daily to always be above the competition. I see CFAs traumatized and on anti depressants, even having gotten the Charter, which says a lot!

    • @HaarisZamir
      @HaarisZamir 17 дней назад

      Yes the combined cost of all levels can be expensive, but the $650 includes the the applied series which you don't need for the CFA. Return on investment is relative to each person - it's about what you make of it. You definitely don't need the CFA to succeed, and sounds like you're doing well anyway

  • @aalucyaf-zp5ut
    @aalucyaf-zp5ut 18 дней назад

    If L3 is practically worthless for most people and you don't at least double your salary with the CFA, I don't get the reason to pay so much money and waste valuable time of your life that you'll never get back. I think you could study the materials that are important and worth your time to become an expert without actually doing the CFA. People who have good daily reading habits are usually the smartest people in the room, with no need for a three letter credential, and they excel in work and life in almost anything because people can hear how smart and knowledgeable they are in many topics. Reading 1 hour a day for the rest of your life will always keep you ahead of the competition.
