It's interesting, merely as a bridge between the original A5 Demos version of the song (the name escapes me atm) and the final version, which I absolutely prefer. But I'm admittedly a big Cars/new wave fan, which it homages. I dunno, I think people have a tendency to over-romanticize demo/early versions. The big riff parts could have bene re-used as the basis of another song.

I can’t believe how watered down This Is Such A Pity is listening to this. The chorus felt so empty in the final, and it sounds so much more complete here.

The only thing that is better on the studio version is the way it ends with the guitar solo and the moans.
