TMK never made the grade as a noted singer. Descended from a rich industrial family, he was encouraged by Sabhas to perform. The so-called puritans of music are criticising TMK out of sheer prejudice. Their orthodox and partisan view is gradually on the wanes. TMK aims to impart an element of inclusiveness to Carnatic music. Himself a Brahmin his idea is well received by the larger Tamil society. TMK's present day critics may well be thrown wayside sooner or later.

Nice yo hear a sane peactical voice in the highly vitiated space mate! Your words hold up the angst of the people. What happened and what followed thereafter shows the resurgence of a feudalistic and patriarchal views of a few which unfortunately is flying thick and fast. Hope the saner voices prevail.
