Yes, you just want to pick your cleaning solution accordingly. Some cleaners can be to harsh for some parts. And yes, I let all my parts dry before installing them.

12T is the smallest kayak I would buy. It will track better and offer more storage. It’s still pretty light, so should be no problem for kids also 👍🏻

My personal favorite for any water, is a paddle tail. Anything that swim’s basically. It’s versatile, you can swim it, bounce it, deep, shallow and all sorts of different retrieves.

It’s from Home Depot. Cost less that $10 👍🏻

How is it holding up to the salt water?

With that being said my oldest handle is about 3 1/2 years old and they're in great condition and that's all I fish in is saltwater. I have handles with Cork knobs also and I treat them with Linseed Oil. Tight Lines

Great! But I clean all my gear after EVERY trip, so I know that helps to keep it in good shape.

Yes sir! They went up ALOT. It doesn’t look like they made any upgrades either. 799 is to close to the competition I think. There are much better kayaks when you get around that $1000 range. I can honestly say that I would NOT buy one at $799. At $599 it was pretty much an unbeatable price for a fishing kayak. I appreciate ya watching! And I’d be glad to answer any questions ya have 😁👊🏻

@@edisonmartinez1729 I love the quality of OldTown kayaks. They are truly built for fishing in my opinion. The 10ft starts around 1100 and 12ft 1300. But, “hoodoo” Fishing kayaks start at 850 and that’s with a rudder and built in anchor trolleys. Hard to beat! I’d buy a hoodoo WAY before an ascend.

Hey I appreciate ya watching! Yes sir I stand and fish easily. But, I do think experience helps alot. It really depends how comfortable your are on kayaks. I’ve had people tell me that this kayak in unstable and tippy. I personally think it’s as stable as it gets! 😂 So i guess im just saying personally, yes I stand and fish easily. I even stand up and sight cast a redfish in my latest video 😁👊🏻

@@roberthall843 It will hold up well. In running water the issue would be tracking straight, and it’s a pretty wet ride.

It’s VERY shallow! The old ICW runs through drum. It’s just a narrow channel, but it run all the way through drum bay and it’s the deepest part. Other than that, drum is mostly shallow mud/shell.
