Let's Play Pineford - Detective visual novel [demo]
It's my first time making let's play and it turned out to be more voice acting than anything else 😅
Pineford is a detective visual novel with lovecraftian elements and a lot (and I do mean A LOT) of secrets and mysteries.
I genuinely love this game so I thought I could use my tiny yt channel to share it with the world.
I also hope I did a good job translating it (I promise that small errors you saw in the video are not in the final version 😣).

      This video is not talking about the end of patrilineal bloodline after the death of Elizaveta Petrovna but about the fact that Romanov's literally were never called Romanovs. They were Zakhar'evs, Yuryevs, earlier even Koshkin. God knows what's their real surname. Romanovs became Romanovs only in the 20th century which is rather fascinating in my opinion

      @@fromtherussianpointofview but if we’re talking about them from historical point I would say yes, in the sense that they were part of the Romanov dynasty in terms of a historical group however, in fact, the Russian branch of the Holstein family, which itself was a branch of the German House of Oldenburg, which has ruled over Denmark since the 15th century

    Most people say that Paul was not Peter the third son, but if you look at his images before his illness at age 17, he’s resembles his father very well, but there does no doubt that Peter the Great ultimately suffered too many setbacks and the biggest failure in his family life not like Phillip Macedon. He did not have an Alexander to follow him and his legacy waspermanently established by women who were not related to him while the men in his family were utter failures, both his son, his grandson and great grandson

    • @fromtherussianpointofview
      @fromtherussianpointofview 2 месяца назад

      Well, to be fair, we don't really know if some of Peter the Great's offsprings were capable of being something more. Sure, Alexey wasn't particularly interested in being a good ruler. But when it comes to his other descendants, things are always up for debate. After all, Peter II was shunned away by his grandfather in favor of his new family which means that he never received proper education. Pretty much the same happened with Peter III. Had he been brought to Russia as a baby as per Catherine I's will, he would have received a proper education and quite possibly achieved his ambitions in the military sphere. And Paul's achievements in Russia have been reevaluated lately and many historians agree that he wasn't nearly half as bad as he was portrayed (Even my university professor talked about it). Besides, let's not underestimate Elizaveta Petrovna. She may not have been the next Great in the family but she had her achievements and she greatly influenced Catherine II in becoming the woman she was. Also, Peter the Great shot his own foot by forbidding his sisters from marrying and having children. Not that he didn't have his reasons but we never know what kind of brilliant minds we lost in his unborn nephews and nieces. P.S. sorry for such a long comment. I really like discussions about history 😅

    In a last couple of years it became a lot more common for Russian publishers to use book covers made by artists with large online presence. I've heard it's to promote reading among young people but I'm not sure that's the only reason. Anyway, because of this trend book covers are becoming a lot more important and the artists themselves get a lot more credit which I'm really happy about :)
