Many years back I watched a supposed documentary on TV ( it could all have been BS of course ) about a large array of powerful microwave dishes in Alaska. This facility was being used in an experiment of heating the upper atmosphere with the goal of altering upper level jet stream winds, and by doing so influencing the path of storm systems. As I said the documentary could well have been in the genre of “Hunting for Bigfoot” type thing, but it sounded plausible.

Chris, I'm in Easley, right here with you in the upstate. Let me ask a question; What's your opinions on the current solar forcing due to fluctuations in the earth's magnetic field? We did see a mere X5 flare event at 35 N demonstrating that more solar radiation is reaching the surface. Could this be why we are seeing record water temps.
