    How idiotic to have a pacemaker for an 800 meter race.

    1st lap: 49” 2nd lap+- : 60” Surprisingly the world record was ran with a 49”25”’ first lap (but followed by a 51”66”’)

    I’m confused if his job is to be the pace maker how is he able to win it?

  • @smileyface2411
    @smileyface2411 2 месяца назад

    Actually what happened: The pacemaker was told to run the WR pace, that's it. He finished the race because he thought he had a chance to win(pacemakers are supposed to leave after a while)

    He was right. If the other runners had followed him. If these other runners had been able to maintain their pace and speed, then the fastest of them would have broken the world records by several seconds.

    OK he did. the performance is impressive, but even more so his personality and determination. Because he went into that garra without caring about his opponents. He ran that race against the clock, he was only his opponent. Studied at the table. Great performa. Only athletes are able to meditate and work so thoroughly with their limits. What they do in their everyday life conditions their results. Magnificent. Something to be able to read beyond appearance to be dazzled by their value.

    Commentators haven't a clue what they're on about. The pace-maker did the 1st lap in 49-50 secs which is exactly what you'd want a PM to do in an 800m.

    So I take it the distance is measured from the furthest back part of the resting wig, as would be the rules with long jump, measuring from the furthest back indentation that's been made in the sand.

    This is not a fail he split 49.2 and then ran about 1:02.0 for the 500, he's a pacesetter for 450-500m of the race, and he did a good job of it. It's not his fault everybody chose to run at a slower pace. I too would go for what he did if I was in such of a lead.
