How To Thread a Juki Serger - Model MO-654DE - Sewing Tutorial & Fun Times
How do I make a pottery mark stamp with the initials AMA?
That’s an easier one than most, since your initials look the same forward and backward. I would print it out and just lay it on the clay and start carving! Good luck. 😊
Thanks for the joke at the beginning hahahaha
this was great thank you
Very cool! Thanks for this Deb.
Thank you so much!😁
THANK YOU so much for saving me from the total nervous breakdown I would have had if I had not had your video. So clear, step-by-step, I did have to keep pausing it and rewinding a few times. But ultimately got the job done and it works. YAY! One thing I would suggest to Juki is a light inside the machine where all the little complicated parts are- I had to get a flashlight in order to see. Best video ever- I have subscribed to your pages.
Thank you so much! That means a lot!
What thread does this machine use, embroidery or sewing
I use Maxi-lock serger thread. It looks like regular thread.🙂
@@craftpocalypse101 thank you!!
and then they go on to pronounce urine normally i just don't get it
Nice video. I have the same Juki Model and find the red thread difficult to thread. I noticed that you thread the thread differently in the beginning (the first guide). There and 2 holes for reasons I think but it worked fine with your threading, too. The official Juki video is here: ruclips.net/video/KPCOqnRj4oM/видео.html. The threading starts about 19:20.
thanks for sharing! Great tutorial. I got some cuestions: what about the mesh you use? there is no link to it. which characteristic has it? Can I use normal engobes for it? Do I have to use some specific vehicle for it? thanks in advance :)
oh I see there are different screen emulsions which is the one you use? thanks
Since I made the video, I have my system more down - I will make some new videos about it soon. I use a 200 yellow mesh. I think you can use engines, but you will want to leave them out so some of the water evaporates - to needs to be a bit thicker. I'm not sure what you mean by vehicle - can you be more specific? Thank you for watching!😄
I've had my serger 20+ years & YOU are the only one who shows the double loop on the blue upper looper. I struggled for a very long time before I noticed it was wound twice😮 Every detail is important😊
I had so much trouble as well! I'm so glad the video has helped you 😁
Hi. I am a big fan!! But I was wondering how much fabric you used and the tipe of thred? 😃😍
You are my first fan! Well, besides my mom😆! I'm not sure exactly about the fabric since I haven't made this in about 3 yrs, but the original says Cotton fabric, 1.5 m each in different colors (i.e. 3 m cotton fabric in total) 1.5 m volume fleece 295* (partner link) washable filling cotton* (partner link) for a pillow measuring 50×50 cm (approx. 4-5 handfuls of cotton wool). I hope that helps! I will be making another one soon for my other cat, so I will measure exactly. Thank you for watching!
thank you so much!!!!! and my cats thank you to!😍🥰😅
DM! So cute, those were the initials of my first ceramics teacher ♡
Thank you for watching!
Brilliant
Hi! I know it is an old video, but I hope for responce from the lovely author! 😊 I didn't quite understood what you are using for the blue part, is it regular screenprinting paint or something like agoba for ceramics? Are you fiering them and after that glazing with a transparent one? I loved the idea
It’s underglaze! I use speedball royal blue I think is the color and then yes I use a transparent glaze on top. One that doesn’t have zinc so the colors don’t run.
Can you print on bisque fired clay?
I have not tried to print directly on bisque-fired clay, but I have tried to put the transfer onto bisque and I have not been able to get it to work (at least not with newsprint transfers). Sorry, somehow I missed this comment! Thank you for watching.
I also miss this cake so I'm going to have to learn how to make it myself.
I would use the old version of her cake, this one: web.archive.org/web/20120809094229/rosiescountrybaking.blogspot.com/2011/02/chocolate-chip-cream-crumb-cake.html
You are or have been for me, the clearest instructor to threading the Juki mo654den. I'm new to sewing, and you're my go back to just to make sure im threading correctly. Thanks
Thank you so much! I know how hard it was for me to thread my first serger so I'm thrilled I can help anyone!😄
You are just a breath of fresh air in this harsh world, what a solid soul you are awesome!
Finally! No, kidding, hahah! Thank you so much!
Thank you ❤just got my for Christmas 🎁 and looking forward to your videos.
Hope you enjoy it! 😁
Can it be used to stamp on the book or just clay
Well it doesn't have give like a rubber stamp would, but you can dip in ink and test on paper?
Great video! I teach sewing and was looking for a how to thread video for a student. Nice that you followed the owners manual by threading the blue first! Also mentioning how you end up with the lower thread above the upper looper thread. It's all about the details!
Thank you! I really struggled with even going near my first serger, so I'm glad it's helping others!
You did a good job but threading the serger is hard work.
Yes it is. The more you do it, the easier it will become. The most important thing is to make sure everything is taut!
😂😂😂😂😂
Hi My lower thread is cutting when i start sowing why .
I’m really not sure. I would try to thread the whole thing from scratch and see if that fixes anything. Make sure everything is tightly pulled and everything is put back into place. Good luck!
That is NOT how you pronounce Urinal and is completely retarded way to say it, hell at that example let's just fuck up all words shall we, i will now pronounce cake as coffee, no difference to you all saying Urinal wrong and don't get me started on Aluminum, it's a fact that it's pronouced Aluminum NOT Aluminium, ridiculous.
Came for the screen print tutorial. Left before you got there. # minutes in and still talking about irrelevant BS.
I just got my Juki serger today brand-new but the motor on my machine doesn’t sound as quiet and as nice as yours… do you know what causes this and how I can make it sound smoother?
ooh, that does not sound good! If it's brand new I would contact the place where you got it ASAP. Maybe it needs oiling? Should sound good straight from the box!
I was stressing myself so much if I had hair on my head I would have pulled it out literally but I don't have hair on my head but thank you this really was easy
Great! Thank you for letting me know!
Thank you for this!
Do you have the ingredients for the cake. Thanks
Yes it’s below the video in the description. I recommend the one in the web archive: web.archive.org/web/20210906151215/rosiescountrybaking.blogspot.com/2011/02/chocolate-chip-cream-crumb-cake.html?m=1
THANK YOU! My red lower looper thread kept unthreading and I tried re-threading the machine multiple times. I watched RUclips videos and re-read the manual. No help! But your video is so clear and straightforward and in minutes I had my serger properly threaded. You've made my sewing much less frustrating. I can't thank you enough!
Thank you so much! I’m really glad it helped😁
It does look pink! How do you like the dirty girl bats?
I like them way better than the plastic ones it comes with. Get on dirty girls email list and they often have “seconds” where they are highly discounted for little “mistakes” (a corner of my round bat is nicked off but nothing major!).
@@craftpocalypse101 Thank you!
Okay, you said Upper Looper thread? you also didn't mention how the thread stand is put together with those metal part behind the machine? I'm barely into the video and confused. 😞
Yes, there's an upper looper and a lower looper. You will get more into that when we thread through the machine. It can be confusing i know! My first serger sat on a table for YEARS - I was so afraid of it. The back metals parts are just to hold the thread. Mine are color coded to match where you threads, so you know which thread goes where. I hope that explains more. Maybe watch once through, and then try and thread along on your second run through?
@@craftpocalypse101 sheesh...I'm such an upper looper! Lol. There's a diagram on the inside flap door 🙃😘
You’re pretty cool!! Thank u!
So helpful!! thank you.
Thank you :) You are great ! xx
Hello thank you very muck for video. You are so sweet. Can I ask a question, how high should the UV light be from the ground for burning? Does it matter?
I think I read to measure the screen diagonally across and that should be the height. I don't measure mine, I have mine just above the screen where the light covers the entire screen, but i bet it's close to the height of the diagonal.
OMG! My favorite cake in all the world! And I love that this is a single (it IS only one serving, right!?) serving. Living alone, the last thing I need is an entire Entenmanns cake screaming “Eat me!” every 5 seconds. When all the kids were home I attempted to make an entire cake just like this and I think it came out pretty well. I just made a basic pound cake recipe and added mini chips to the recipe and baked it in a 9” round cake pan. I made a typical crumb topping but added cocoa. Filled with chocolate buttercream and dusted with 10x sugar too. I’m going to make this one right now. Why in the world did they discontinue this!?
um...did you make it last night? I consider it a single serving...check out my other single serving videos...tray of lasagna, gallon of ice cream, thanksgiving turkey.😜
@@craftpocalypse101 You know,it was late and I was lazy,so I improvised. I’ve been making “microwave” cakes for years. I just mix some boxed cake mix with yogurt & water and put it in a custard cup-nuke for 1-1 1/2 minutes and frost it after letting it cool. (I’m an eye-baller so can’t really give measurements)So I used a yellow cake mix and tossed in a few mini chocolate chips (alas,no crumbs-I wasnt sure how that would come out) Made the frosting and topped it when it was cool. It was good. I will make your recipe (full size) to take to my next Grange meeting next month. If there’s one thing we Grangers love it’s eating! 😊
@@marianneodell7637 i've never been able to throw things together and make something appear! I'm jealous!
I l am American and I grew up in England for 7 years, my mother is British she is from Ipswich. I have never heard urinal pronounced like this when I lived there. I heard someone on a British TV show,Prime Suspect, other day and when Helen Mitam said the word with a long I I fell out and it kept me laughing for days I often laugh at the way British people say certain words or even when the, and,(and so on, etc) are left out out of sentences. Like today I heard a comedian say "go across road ) it just sounds funny. I have an English friend who I worked with and her and I would be joking around with who ruined the English language. Now having British blood in me I jokingly said the British did and she would say the American s did 🤣🤣 But my dad said that the British people say words the way they are written in the dictionary, which of course you can read where and how to annunciate a word Who's right or wrong , does it really matter? Not really. People are going to talk the way they learn The dialect of British people in different parts of England can differ just like over here the USA. And I laugh at people here in how they talk. It's all in good fun No need to say who is politically correct 😂😂
Britain is Three countries. Most English people say Urinal like they do in this video and English is the language of the English so you're wrong and sound very funny to us.
@@DerekDerekDerekDerekDerekDerek. Whatever 🤣
2 years later do you sill like it? I wanted to buy local but theirs start at $1000 and they are trying to tell me I will outgrow the Aspire, that it won't handle a large item. that it will move around, hard to store ect, But $1000??? This is totally just for me and gifting to friends. What do you think?
I live down the street from my community studio where I also work so I mostly use their wheels and bring stuff home to trim on the aspire. I do love it but I feel bc it doesn’t have a fixed place to be set up and I have to drag it outside I don’t use it as much. But I can’t throw inside my apt so this really was the wheel for me. Also it was the right price! The wheel I really wanted was $1400! The aspire was $463 with shipping if I remember correctly. I think if you had a place for the aspire where you can affix it to a table and make it sturdier, that might help. Is there any way you can see someone’s aspire to assess?
@@craftpocalypse101 no I don’t know anyone who has one and none of the local stores carry them. I think I’m going to go ahead and purchase it. Because I cannot do $1000 one at this time. If I outgrow it then I’ll sell it and get something new. Maybe it will be one of those purchases I regret but there’s plenty of people online that say that it’s great and they can teach portable classes etc. so I figure if they can teach portable classes I can get good home use out of it? It seems that they pretty much go from 500 all the way up to $1000 minimum and I didn’t see much in between.
@@angelamatlock6864 I agree about the money. That is why I chose mine. and if I didn't have the studio a 5-minute walk away I would definitely be happy to have any wheel! I keep in a Weathertight 62 Qt. plastic container that fits the wheel and my bats and other accessories.
@@angelamatlock6864 I just got one. How are you doing with yours?
This machine is (mostly) identical to the Bernette 334DS which Juki must have made for Bernina, as the older Juki's are identical in every way. My machine is 30+ years old and still going strong. A serger is an MVP in the sewing room.
Interesting to know! Thanks! My regular sewing machine is a Bernina I got from my husband and his mother (and I chipped in too!) for my wedding! I love it!
@@craftpocalypse101 My first sewing machine was a Bernina 910 (7 stitches! and I purchased this serger with it). It still runs perfectly. I have a newer Bernina (B530), but it still only has 7.5" of space (and I quilt). I recently bought a used Juki Kirei...with 12" of space (and many nice features not on my B530), I have a good set up. I still prefer to piece on my Bernina, but the Juki knocks it out of the park for finishing the quilts. I also have a Juki coverstitch....that thing, like the serger, is a beast: a magical sewing beast.
@@notesfromleisa-land I made a small quilt but I really didn't know what i was doing, and it was mighty hard with just the bernina with that little bit of space, but i love it anyway. I hope to make more quilts one day! I have the Bernina 350 and I have zero complaints!
Do the Brits mispronounce urine too, or just urinal?
I'm happy to report they say it like we do. I think. My British neighbor doesn't know why I made her say it URin, but now she is walking around mumbling, "urINE, URin?" but she said it our way first, so all is cool.
We are the English speaking English the language Invented in England so we are correct and you're wrong. Britain is three countries.
@@DerekDerekDerekDerekDerekDerek but there are more of us. So many more. And neither country speaks the language people spoke when we parted ways 250 years ago. We just evolved differently.
@@eileen8327 LOL In the north Americans' case it's probably some regressive feature brought about by environmental pressures on their evolution. I understand they simplified their spelling of English too... Come back all is forgiven! 😉 @Jill I wonder if we can send over Henry Higgins to help them overcome their difficulties??
@@DerekDerekDerekDerekDerekDerek American English is more conservative than any dialect of British English. It's a better representation of how English people spoke centuries ago.

YOUR MUSIC IS VERY DISTRACTING TO THE THINGS YOU ARE TRYING TO TEACH US. i JUST GOT MY MACHINE, AND THE TENSION IS SO TIGHT IT WON'T LET ME PULL THE THREAD THROUGH. I TRIED TO LOSEN THE TENSION, BUT IT IS STILL TOO TIGHT TO PULL THE THREAD THROUGH. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG. mY MACHINE CAME THREADED, AND I TIED THE NEW THREAD ON LIKE ANOTHER VIDEO SHOWED, AND WHEN I TRIED TO PULL IT THROUGH, IT BROKE BOTH THE NEEDLE THREADS. I FINALLY GOT THE UPPER LOOPER THE BLUE GUIDES TO PULL THROUGH, BUT THAT IS ALL THAT I CAN GET TO COME THROUGH.
I know, I know...I have learned since then to not have it so loud. As for your machine, I would start from scratch. Make sure you pull all the threads tight as you go. That's where I would start, bc that will fix most problems I have found. Good luck!
Thank you for your video. You have a very calm demeanor and easy to listen and understand your tutorial. Very concise and straightforward presentation re threading. Got it!
