Our petition was denied, but we made some progress…
Thank you to the workgroup members, speakers, and many supporters.
Achievements:
• Let CDFW and FGC know that kayak angler community exist
• Participated in developing 20FM and 2024 Groundfish Regulation to get a 6-month nearshore season
• Joint effort between NCKA and Fresh & Salty group
Failure & Improvement Needed:
• Not able to mobilize adequate participants
• Need a more focused and structured group
• Need better organizers and speakers
Near-term issues:
• MPA expansion petitions (23 petitions)
• California 30x30 Initiative
• Quillback rockfish survey
Recommendations:

It is holding very well and I typically use this kayak around 15 days per year.

Yes, they hold up very well. I got one in NorCa and in SoCa. My wife and I enjoy very much and recommend sidekick with it.

I enjoy kayak fishing in the ocean, snowboarding in the mountain, and road biking on river bike trails (American River Bike Trail). My goal is to try to enjoy them until I am 80+ years.
I never got into snowboarding or skiing. A few times I went, I always became home with a minor injury LOL

1. 이유는 켈리포니아 에서는 연어낚시할때 barbless hook (가시없는 낚시 바늘)만 사용할수 있어서, 계속 달려서 낚싯줄 텐션을 유지 하지 안으면, 금방 빠짐니다. 2. 영어로 Fishing downrigger"는 낚시 다운리거로 번역됩니다. 다운리거는 물고기를 잡기 위해 낚시 선을 깊은 일정한 수심으로 내려가게 하고, 낚시바늘과 미끼를 움직여서 물고기를 유인하는 장비입니다. 주로 연어 낚시에만 주로 사용됩니다.

I have my 2023, Oldtown 120, big water PDL drive. With all my accessories, electronics, battery box, and all my other add-ons. I fish in the mangroves, on the flats, and back country in the FL Keys. I sold my Oldtown 106 PDL to my best friend, and I let him purchase my original Bixpy J2 motor, with it. He's loving that boat. I Just received my new PP 768 J2 Bixpy. The battery is two full hrs at speed 12, and comes with the warp speed 13. Or if I run speed 7 to 8 it'll last 24 hrs. That's plenty fast on a kayak. We do three day camp/ fish trips with our kayaks every summer. I also purchased the Vibe Bixpy gravity rudder kit, for the Bixpy, and came with the pull cord to attach to the rudder, so you can pull it up with ease, and set it on a cleet they also include. I can't wait to finish the setup and exactly where I want that battery. It's larger than the original. And I did keep my spare small battery, that I keep fully charged, and always on board. These kayaks today are truly one man fishing machines. Love the Hobie's. I almost went with the new color orange camo Hobie Outback. But I couldn't find that color it's beautiful. I'm just not a fan of the rudders Hobie uses, especially the twist and stow. 🌊 🎣 🛶
I did look into Bixpy's new battery, PP768, but I already got three 4 old batteries, and J-1 model motors require a retrofit to use with PP768. I could not justify spending that much for an extended battery at this time. I hope you have fun with the extended range, and let me know how you like the new battery.
Thus will not work. Only heat gun and vynal will work.
Vinyl is a very soft material, and for 2 years it looks like it worked decently
@Awesome Opossum nouthing sticks to vynal and will peel sooner than later. I repair all vynal whether my kayaks or barrels or paddles with vynal with same marking useing my heat gun. Makes a permanent repair and cheap. No expense tapes that don't last.

Curious how well this will stick. Polyethylene has a pretty low surface energy and getting things like epoxies to stick may prove difficult unless it has a pretty low modulus. Be nice to see how well it handles the bottom hull flexing or after a year of use. Here's to longevity! ^^

Iove the setup.8 have my J2 Bixpy, with the new bigger battery. 2 full hours wide open. But all my DIY's are painted a nice flat black, water resistant. I don't understand, the diy people leaving the PVC white. Really ruins the upgrade.
I own two J-1 motors and three batteries. To use the bigger battery, my J-1 motors require a new control board. I decided to stay with my current battery until I needed a new motor. I wish you good luck with your new Bixpy setup.
I have been looking for a solution to protect the keel of my kayak that doesn't break the bank. I hit pay dirt!

@Kayak Fishing Couple jb weld is not a permanent vynal fix. Tried all that shit over the years. Material from a quart oil container and heat gun useing a spatula does permanent vynal repair. I

You mentioned using a Houlavator. I thought the Outback was too heavy for that lift?
I have been using Hullavator to carry my kayaks, including Outbacks and Oasis. It might exceed the manufacturer's recommended load, but it works fine.
