A brief description of Empire Of Rails:
Empire Of Rails was created by me, Ryan Casey, as a way to share my interests in traveling and model railroading with the world. The main mission of Empire Of Rails is to provide an enriched point of view on many train and travel related topics. I know a lot of information about trains and traveling that is already out there. Be it published in books, videos, or on the internet. But my sole purpose is to actually foster the enjoyment of going on such trips in person, as opposed to watching a 30 minute video or reading a book.

On October 2nd, 2021, we set out to the Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley Railroad to experience the Guest Engineer program. Once again, I had sufficient footage to make this video.
If you're over 18 and looking for a nice long run over an entire railroad line, this real experience is just for you!

How long is the ride normally
The regular ride is usually 15 minutes or a half hour.

In order to make a booking for the Run One, you have to call the museum by phone. The phone number is on the SCRM page for Run One. Once you make the booking, they email you some paperwork to fill out prior to arriving. Nearer your desired booking, I recommend calling them at least three days prior to your in advance, because it’s hit or miss with volunteer staff. From my experience, I got there at 9 AM PST, but the real engineer didn’t show up til almost 11. This video wouldn’t be on here if I missed the opportunity, due to staff shortage.
