Why did you not use Physics Collider on Weapons , you can Bind Hit Event and also can attack using SetCollisionEnable(true/false), It is also a good approach as compared to line trace from an optimization point of view
The trace method showed in this video is just one of the tracing methods that the system has. From my tests hits or overlap events can miss if the animation is fast enough, or if the frame rate is low enough, even with CCD enabled.
i have a question is there any way to integrate this with Advanced Locomotion System(ALS)??
It is possible, but since ALS is very complex to work with, this will depend on how knowledgeable you are with ALS

With the recent update 2.2, this video is relevant only for UE4 users. The UE5 version now have all blendspaces on data tables, and it is not required to follow this video in regard to locomotion animation changes, only for weapons. Thanks

Just found this and honestly it's SO useful and good. Solved a lot of issues I had with replicating montages :D
Important note: The animation blueprints steps showed here are now only valid for the UE4 version of the project. For the UE5 version, these steps are already implemented in the form of a Linked Anim Graph, and locomotion blend spaces are in a dedicated data table.
This is really cool. Not sure how your movement is setup, but do you think it would be hard to run with side scroller or top down view?
Hello. The movement setup is very simple, and it works on top of the default third person template, so it will work normally on any camera perspective.

Yes, but this will indeed require additional setup. The difficulty of the implementation will depend on your knowledge of ALS.

This system is not replicated, so if you are looking for multiplayer, I recomend using the multiplayer system as a starting point. The mutiplayer system also supports unarmed combat, but it does not have automatic movement, or other free flow combat features.

Hello, this is just an alternative method when using socket-based hit scan. Both hit scan and colliders are valid methods of collision detection, each with advantages and disadvantages.
