I just watch the shadows of my terrain as the day passes and I know that once the day is past half I need to begin making mental preparations for sundown. With well over 4k hours in I've long since learned a natural flow with the in-game time as well as what to keep for a mental checklist in every biome in order to avoid getting a surprise trip to bed.

I still can't figure out why you always avoid questions about your origins. Do you think that your audience will just disappear? I spent the last 25 years talking to people on the phone across the globe. I definitely recognize your accent, but I can't 100% place it yet. it's the Barbra Streisand affect. The more you want to avoid it, the more people want to know.

I know I'm a bit late to the party and don't know if you're even still reading comments at this late date, but I've watched the first three episodes of you play-through in their entirety and am enjoying them very much. I like the unedited format that really lets me follow your journey with all it's wins and losses and frustrations and heartache (sorry about your piggies). I enjoy your narration and the fact that your interactions with the chat are not distracting, but more often educational. I'm, a seventy-something retiree and do have time to watch a four hour episode, and have tried before with other play-throughs, but lose interest because the streamer has done it a hundred times and is more interested in rushing through to the "good" part than in letting us follow his progress. I get the feeling you;re an intelligent and educated man (historical references and so forth) and find I very much enjoy your company. I'm only sorry it took me so long to find you!

ok, the first two things you build in the bronze ago are an axe and then the buckler. Why? Fine wood... duh. And the buckler for trolls. You can parry trolls so easily with the buckler, it trivializes them. Parry -> Spear spear spear stun spear dead. So easy. I can't watch trolls kill you anymore without saying anything. It's painful to watch. You've died to a troll like 6 times. I haven't died to a troll in any play through in over a year. BUCKLER FOR GODS SAKE!

If your strategy has been "not die" ... you've failed.

I know this video is old, but the circle design might not be so bad. If rather than a single circle, you make a circular corridor with portals on either side, you could have a lot of portals and easily make it a floor taller for double capacity. You can thusly keep the funny fantasy tree courtyard

Why would you not just name the portal on top of the Bonemass skull "Bonemass"? Perfect description, with an obvious map marker. Instead, you decide to name it "surtling"? Then the Moder portal you didn't even add a label to it...which was the whole point of going through each portal. I guess that our brains just don't work the same. BTW, I don't know if you fixed it or not, but your portal hallway labels were initially wrong. They should be "1 --- 10", "11 --- 20" and "21 --- 30". Not "1 --- 10", "10 --- 20" and "20 --- 30".

You kept asking about smelting bronze around ~3:20:00 into this video. It came from a few episodes back. You picked up a bunch of bronze scraps from somewhere, and then you kept talking about smelting copper, but it said "added bronze scrap" on the screen as you were loading the smelter.

To limit spawns, any work bench or even a campfire will stop spawns. I was using campfires and then lightly burying them for an aesthetic, spawnproof look. The reach of the work bench and stone cutter are roughly the same for the campfires, so that dotted line you build in is what shuts down the spawns.

I made this for our trio server and it's amazing. I remodelled the sleeping area to fit 3 beds and all furniture, and every chest area = 1 biome for all our loot. Works really well and very organized. Thx. Kitchen is located on our farm because I had to save space somewhere.

You must be between three different golem spawn locations. Tough luck to be sure.

i loved the base design i did it built it but tweaked the middle. instead of the dump hole i put the 2 hearts in the middle an put the cooking station in the middle so all 4 doors are open.

I love valheim for its ability to be creative in building, but some days i miss my 3x3 efficiency raft i used to tuck into a rock in ark public servers haha. Valheim is still way better and can't wait for the deep north.

Yea windmills work better in plains. They are terribly slow in other biomes especially on slow wind days

You could just leave the extractor in the roots, iirc, they will still regenerate and then the extractor will work again

your mistlands base is quite impüressive. In terms of natural selection, a door or a gate works wonders to prevent unwanted livestock from climbing up stairs.
