I'm with you. I was probably the most skeptical person of AMSOIL when I first heard of it. So many performance tests that show how AMSOIL compares to the competition. However, I struggle to find similar comparison testing conducted by the other manufactures that show how they compare to AMSOIL. I learned quickly that companies often don't advertise what they're not proud of. If I may, what is your experience with AMSOIL?

I picked up an drain plug gasket kit online (very inexpensive). Then just match up the old one with the new one. I'm often changing oil on a variety of vehicles/equipment and having the kit with me is much easier than running out to the parts store every time.

Yes. I did a quick search on Amazon for "oil drain plug gasket kit" and found several options for around $20. The kit has saved me a lot of time in the long run.

Bummer. I can empathize with you. Maryland counties and city municipalities are working hard to ban gas powered leaf blowers. Fortunately, I can still get AMSOIL Power Foam and Antifreeze here. However, for you and the other poor folks in California many are traveling to the AMSOIL warehouses located in Las Vegas, NV and Portland, OR to pick it up.

I can honestly say I've never tried Sea Foam and some swear by it. However, many gave AMSOIL P.i. Performance Improver Gasoline Additive a shot and describe it as a turbo charged version of Sea Foam. I've been so happy with AMSOIL P.i. and how well it clean the injectors, valves, boosts fuel economy, etc, in older and new vehicles that I don't see myself making the switch. AMSOIL recommends a bottle every 4000k miles. The fuel you get at the gas pump is all pretty well stripped of all the good cleaners to keep the price down. What are the chances of you trying the P.i?

Agreed! Many of the older clutches required mineral oil. My old 2004 KTM EXC required mineral oil. It's my understanding it even said "mineral oil only" on the cap?!?! However, many of the new clutches require DOT 4 Brake Fluid. What do you ride?

Sure, you could. However, it leaves an amber wax like film and I don't know if you'll like the color. I've always just lightly sprayed it on. Consider the AMSOIL MP Metal Protector spray, www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-mp-metal-protector-amp/?zo=1649274. It's clear and does an outstanding job of preventing rust.

80:1 is great mix ratio with SABER. What size fuel cans do you use?

I'm with you. Grease is sticky and dirt will certainly stick to grease in the open. However, I've had great results with the AMSOIL Fifth Wheel Grease. Only time I noticed any wear was after a friend borrowed it. They split a boat load of wood and didn't apply any Fifth Wheel Grease. What do you use to lube your log splitter?

Agreed. For best results, add the bottle before you fill up. This ensures the treatment mixes better with the fuel. This particular vehicle was brought to me with a full tank. The P.i will still mix well with the fuel when adding to a full tank, however try to add before you fill up if possible.

The AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Grease, www.amsoil.com/c/bearing-chassis-grease/28/?zo=1649274, is a great "turbo charged" multi-purpose grease that does an outstanding job with water resistance. It's very difficult to go wrong with it. It's what is in my grease gun!

Looks like GMC didn't make it easy and there are several different engines for that model year. Therefore, you'll see a couple different oil filter options depending upon your particular engine. Here's a helpful lookup guide that I often use, www.amsoil.com/guides/?zo=1649274.

I'm with you. It has been a little confusing with Fords. For years they flopped back and forth between 5W-20 and 5W-30. Ford recommends 5W-30 for this particular year and model. Does it say in the ford owners manual that it’s ok to use 5W-30? I’m just curious. I don’t want to have it in the system that I put “the wrong engine oil in the truck”.

@@x_man_8358 Ford couldn't make up their mind for a while. Some Ford engines call for 5W-20 and others call for 5W-30. Now 0W-20 is sneaking in as well. Echo Power Blend 2-Stroke Oil was run in 4 string trimmers. AMSOIL SABER Pro Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil was run in 4 separate string trimmers. Identical tests just different oil and oil mix ratios.

I'm jealous. Non-ethanol fuel is like a unicorn in our area (Annapolis, MD). Everything is E10 in our area. I've been filling my cans up with ethanol free 90 octane in Virginia. Where do you live?

North Eastern Oklahoma. It's getting harder to find here, but not impossible. Too many farmers and arborist depend on it. I remember back in the day when leaded gasoline outsold unleaded 100 to 1 lol How times have changed....

@@tuberocker69 They certainly have! It's my understanding ethanol-free fuel can be found on some of the boat docks or out in more rural parts of our area but it's just not convenient. However, it seems like the farms seem to be transforming into subdivisions! I just filled my bikes and cans up last night in Fredericksburg, VA on my way home from "Throttle Therapy Lake Anna". They have 90 octane ethanol-free at the pump and it's not out of the way. It will be interesting to see where we are 5, 10, and 15 years from now...
