I didn’t know how young I was when I saw he passed away ….i was 7 (turning 8 that year) and I remember my brother and I were walking down 125th street and an African vendor had a tv playing near his set up and the tv was saying “frank Williams dead today” I remember it had the year 1993 …and I was stunned and blurted it to my mom ..my mom stopped and looked at the tv and the African man looked at us and smiled sadly that it was true …I’ll never forget that day …I was so sad like I knew him personally ….i legit didn’t know I was 7 all that time … I remember my parents played the tapes over and over and something about him seemed so mild mannered and lovable…I always felt …sigh …can’t explain it …
