    Excellent video, exactly what I needed to remind me of this. I've gained and lost a ton of body fat before (240lbs-169lbs). I am a molecular biologist so I tracked and graphed everything like a science dork and I would go 2-3 days without losing something and then one day i'd lose 1-2 lbs in a single day. Over the last few years I've ballooned back up to 260, and I've been going EXTREME, for the last 30 days I've been on ~1500-2000 calorie deficit (I know this is extreme, but personally I am capable of this) per day and when you're that mentally and physically fatigued combined with extreme hunger the scale not moving is probably the most demoralizing thing on the planet. Like wtf, does air have calories? When this happens you just have to remind yourself to STICK WITH IT. Eventually you'll hit that drop, fluid and fecal retention are 100% the cause.

      @@oteumundotecnologico What? So, if you exercise while in a calorie deficit, it will only target fat? But if you're not exercising while in a deficit, it won't? The only things that would matter in terms of retaining muscle mass would be the degree of the deficit you’re in and how much protein you incorporate into your diet while in the deficit. You especially need to focus on protein intake when doing any sort of resistance training while in a deficit so your muscles can repair and grow properly.

    Im 225lbs right now as of 6-18-24. On 6-10-24 I was 230lbs. My goal is to reach 195lbs in 4-5 months. Back in 2021 i went from 230lbs to 175lbs and I gained in all back over these past few years. I was unhealthy in losing that weight because i just ran all the time and was eating barely anything. Ive learned a lot and im confident that im going to keep the weight off this time and not make the same mistake of losing weight super quick and starving myself like last time. I have no doubt that I can lose this weight by November 10th 2024. Ive been eating less and ive been doing 100 pushups and 100 situps a day for over a week now. I also have a newborn and im in a new house but im not going to use that as an excuse to continue to be fat and lazy.

    Tryna lose 20 lbs in one month and im in a 2800 calorie deficit. Im not plannijg on doing this long term, its not healthy. But it will help alot. It will help for the first week to lose alot of that weight (I ran 15 Miles and drank atom of coffee). After I will slow down by eating a little more and running a little less. To be in a 1500 deficit for the last 3-4 weeks. Anything over 2500 deficit is definitely not healthy and you should not do it long term a month max. Edit: Columbian Dark Roast Coffee 10 fl oz = 3 calories and supresses hunger

    I'm 3 weeks in from a 2 year break I went from benching 260lbs [8 reps 5 sets] and in my first day of benching againi lifted only 180lbs, I was 240lbs and now I'm 261, though I dropped from 280 due to hard labor at work but since I went back to the gym , my weight is not moving down I do cardio on a bike machine for 40 mins and usually lift weights for 1 hour and 30 mins . If I had to guess maybe I'm trading fat for muscle but it's still very discouraging to see 3 weeks of hard work, and I actually gain 3 pounds😢. I may not have a choice to get supplements and maybe go on a diet 😢

    • @MaddoScientisto-fb3kb
      @MaddoScientisto-fb3kb Месяц назад

      Well, correcting nutrition (remember: its always easier just not to eat a slice of pizza than to compensate it with 30 minutes of jogging) is the largest source of fat loss, so you can't escape it I guess. Besides, although I certainly respect you and your willpower for doing 1,5 hour session (I can't even lift for an hour, it always ends in about 50-55 minutes as I get tired to an extent of constant muscle failure or inability to do a proper form pretty quick), you might be overdoing it and causing excess stress to your body (not in physical sense, but signaling to your brain that you are in dire condition and thus it needs to save energy, therefore compromising caloric deficit). So yes, you might try to stop eating less helpful (pure carbs or products with meagre protein in them) foods if possible, but most importantly just don't give up, hard work doesn't always bring results, but lack of it almost always leads to bad outcomes

    • @Y2JArmyofficial
      @Y2JArmyofficial Месяц назад

      @MaddoScientisto-fb3kb thanks for the advice. Like you said, for today, I'm taking a break. My body is too beat up to do my labor heavy job and do the gym today. I work as a nighttime clerk, so I lift a lot of canned goods, dog food, sugar, and flour packs that weigh up to 45 lbs. I break them onto their respective shelves, which can take 4 to 7 hours depending on the size of the load and how many people I have to help me. Doing that and the gym is hard 😪. While my weight has gone up a tad despite the extra work I put in the gym, my strength and pain tolerance have gone up . The last thing I can add is I mostly sleep 4-5 hours of sleep 5 days out of the weeks due to sleeping problems, ensomia , when. I also quit drinking booze for a month now to help, I used to drink 3 bottles of vodka a week or 8 bottles of wine a week. I'll keep up the work in the gym for atleast 2 more months, if im not down 15 lbs then I have to accept my current shape due to my age. I'm 32 .

    • @ad_1273
      @ad_1273 Месяц назад

      You have to change your diet. I went from 225lbs to 180 lbs with no workout routine. Keep in mind it took me a year to accomplish this but I wasnt in a hurry. I drank mostly water and maybe had 2 sodas every other week. I also cut out fast food. Where I used to eat fast food 4 days out of the week, I changed that to maybe twice a month. If you do this your weight will go done slowly. Once you see the scale go down, that will motivate you to push harder and make more drastic changes. I also weighed myself daily. I think this is important to monitor your progress and make nesscery corrections. From time to time you can still enjoy the junk food you love, but you just have to learn to eat small amounts of it and dont eat it often. At 180lbs im now trying to take working out seriously. I wish i would have done this from the start, but we all make mistakes on our fitness journey. My new goals is to hit 165, but Im paying attention to what I eat which is not a problem for me now, and weight training 5 days a week(that is now my challenge).

    Nope, I'm keto 5 years. It's not my identity... Lost weight I never could on any other plan. Or strategy... It actually helped my addiction with sugar. We're no longer crave it constantly. But I do know if I eat 1 piece of chocolate. Not only will it not not me out of ketosis, i'm satisfied.... You're preaching something you are not aware of you're not completely educated on... There is no one strategy that works for everybody. And the way you wouldn't do it, it doesn't mean it doesn't work for someone else...

      Avoiding mistakes is the first and most important step. You can be law-abiding 364 days a year. But if you rob a bank on the 365th day, the good things you did the other 99.7% of the days no longer matter. One single bad thing can outweigh everything else.

    Yeah its so true great to see you spreading the truth. That said, for diehard no carb no sugar enthusiasts the reason you lost weight is because of cutting out calories. Think of this, a 1200 calorie bigmac has carbs, so you arent going to eat it. that is 1200 calories cut out of your diet. Not going to eat that 700 calorie ice cream because it has sugar? thats 700 calories that would be in your diet before.

    I can respect your religion, but let me just tell you that this is simply not true for everyone. Some people who are obese do everything they can to eat healthy and exercise -and some of those same people are even religious and pray for help regularly - but the obesity doesn't go away; they can't shed the weight no matter what they try. I can agree that for a lot of people the issue is poor diet and/or exercise, but that isn't the case for everyone, so you can't make generalizations like this and expect to be accurate 100% of the time.

  • @UniversityOfMassachusets

    That’s not a horrible take and it’s def a tool someone can use. Just be aware someone can actually give up on an aggressive deficit since even that still takes atleast a couple weeks to see results. Within that two weeks, extreme hunger kicks in and will eventually end up back in a calorie that they can sustain. It’s a good tool for anyone who has self control but honestly if you don’t have that strong of a self control then it’s best to stay at a small deficit INFACT, I can even say the opposite may be true. If you start small and get used to eating 2000 calories then you can bump it down to 1800 and see how you feel and gradually build your deficit as your body adapts. That way a there isn’t a huge shock to your body
