Stephen's Storm Log S10E09: The Las Vegas Tornado (Once Upon a Chase in the West)
Summary: This video documents 4 separate #Stormchasing trips in New Mexico during the 2021 chase season. During these trips, it was our goal to finally see a home-state tornado. Chase dates include supercells on May 23, the Roswell #Mothership on May 28, pretty storms on May 30, and the Las Vegas #Tornado on June 12. We were very lucky to have my sister Julie, and brother Daniel present for the June 12 chase. Huge thanks to them for joining that day and sharing their footage from the chase.
Also a huge shout out to Spencer Dant for sharing his amazing June 12th tornado footage. Check out his RUclips channel: www.youtube.com/@spencerdant

Stephen's Storm Log S08E09: Welcome to My World (June 20 & 21, 2019) - Re-release
Просмотров 127Год назад
Summary: These are my worlds, the current COVID-19 quarantine and the past life of #Stormchasing. Last June featured two really fun chases: our first Iowa #Supercell chase near Onawa on June 20, and an epic outflow storm that was more #Surfing than chasing along the CO/KS border on June 21. Note: This is a re-release that now includes the previously muted Beach Boys song during the June 21 chas...

Stephen's Storm Log S010E06: Northeast Colorado Supercells (May 23, 2021)
Просмотров 2522 года назад
Summary: What started out looking like a excellent #StormChase day in northeast Colorado ended up underperforming on the tornado front. Still, this was a beautiful day full of #Supercells, #Timelapse, and a gorgeous sunset storm near Burlington. Music: Mogwai - After the Flood

Просмотров 1 тыс.2 года назад
Summary: You can't stop what's coming. It ain't all waitin on you; that's vanity. May 17 was probably my favorite chase day of the year. A boundary laid down by the previous day's storms provided an obvious focal point for #Supercell and #Tornado development. We followed the #SterlingCity storm from birth to tornado over the rolling fields south of Big Spring and got a phenomenal view as it dro...
Stephen's Storm Log S010E04: Dryline Towers (May 16, 2021)
Просмотров 3402 года назад
Summary: A nice variety of storms today as we caught some high plains cells in SE Colorado followed by some twisting dryline updrafts in the TX panhandle. Lots of neat #Anticyclonic #Timelapse action from directly underneath the towers. Sadly, we stayed too far north and missed the beautiful #Earth, TX tornado that evening. Просмотров 3012 года назад
Summary: May 2021 was a strange time - a cautious lull between two big pandemic waves. Everything seemed like it was getting back to normal and would never be the same all at once. With this weird ambient state, #Stormchasing in the middle-of-no-where Kansas never felt more like cruising the outskirts of some derelict Combine-controlled city in Half-Life 2. Getting #Cored by a nice #Supercell a...

Summary: An outstanding #Stormchase day featuring a #Tornado fest near #Lockett Texas and my first ever tornado-rainbow pairing. You don't get many days this nice, and the only downside was that Toni wasn't there to share this chase. Music: Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Luciferian Towers

Stephen's Storm Log S09E02: Trinidad Supercell (June 19, 2020)
Просмотров 5693 года назад
Summary: A desolate yet wonderful #Stormchasing day in SE Colorado and NE New Mexico. Morning models showed chances of a rogue #Supercell near the Raton Mesa, and that's exactly what happened. Lots of opportunity for #Timelapse and drone flying with hardly another human in sight. Making this video so much more special is the wonderful new poetry of Andrew Price (of previous Deadland Outlook fam...
Stephen's Storm Log S09E01: Socially Distant Utah Supercell (June 6, 2020)
Просмотров 5094 года назад
Summary: A weird chase in a weird place. A morning supercell in southeast Utah provided an unusual chase experience with beautiful landscapes. That coupled with car camping due to a global pandemic, and you have a recipe for one of the strangest, but ultimately most enjoyable, chases I've even been on. Music: NiN - Together
Stephen's Storm Log S08E08: New Mexico Portal Storms (June 2, 2019)
Просмотров 5214 года назад
Summary: As a long-time fan of the shared Half-Life / Portal videogame universe, it's an honor to get rekt by #GlaDOS for 5 minutes over my rather sloppy chase last June near Duran, New Mexico. Despite a dangerous core punch, I missed a nice tornado in my own backyard by just a few minutes. However, the consolation prize of a pretty #Timelapse opportunity with a 2nd storm with transient #Superc...

Stephen's Storm Log S06E05: Cheyenne & Albin, WY Tornadoes (June 12, 2017)
Great video!! 🙌🙌
"A chaser have to put his soul at hazard," hits so damn hard.
"Point bein, even in the contest between man and storm, the issue is not certain."
this just brought tears to my eyes. My goodness.
This is top tier level production. Enjoyed every minute of it. So much attention to detail. Screw the F and D's, this is A+!
You are way too kind Lori!!! Thanks so much! Every chase day is definitely an A+ even if my luck and decision making is an F 😂
How is this not more popular?? The cinematic shots are so good, great editing and music choice, and I love the little graphics at the end of each chase, awesome video!
Thanks so much HGB!! It is always a fun challenge trying to pull calm cinematic shots out of the chaos of a chase day - something I don't think I'll ever get bored of.
It was great finally meeting you on the 5/28 chase, loved this one!
It was so crazy that we'd never met in person till then, and it's even crazier that this was nearly 3 years ago now!
Just found your channel, this is AWESOME dude. Wow, better than 99% of chasing youtubers right now.
Oh jeez thanks so much! Don't be fooled though, I'm just a bad chaser trying to cover it up with silly opening credits and editing.😅
Amazing content as always! The footage you get and the editing quality always leaves me confused as to why you aren't one of the highest viewed channels in storm chasing.
Dang thanks a bunch!!! Always happy when someone likes our chase videos, but really I just do it for myself since each chase day is so special.
Is this at all related to the strange black hole anomaly where a radar gets taken offline and all of a sudden you don't see any rain? Is this another secret part of the puzzle? 🤔
I suspect that when the HAARP constellation points towards a particular thunderstorm, there is a sort of "spillover" effect on any nearby rainshowers as well. This might create the precipitation "black hole" you refer to. What would also be interesting to observe is whether this spillover has the opposite effect. Say a particular cyclonic supercell is targeted for suppression. Would the spillover spin up any nearby left splits into more powerful storms?? This is what makes this whole game so dangerous.
@@StephenStormLogInteresting! I think you're definitely onto something about left splits spinning off from spillover. To enhance safety and prevent further issues with this, more cities need to invest in large magnet-like antennas to prevent storms from hitting population centers. An example of a success story with this technology comes out of St. Louis, Missouri. Every time the arch is turned on, it seemingly creates a forcefield around the metro. There are several examples of this effect working, and as soon as storms clear the city (and the arch), they tend to strengthen rapidly across rural Illinois.
@@bucket74 The Arch Effect was certainly a good proof of concept but also has a weakness: it can only hit a storm from one side, whereas the HAARP sats can basically surround a storm from LEO. My theory is that after the constellation got up and running, individual emitters for each metro area just wasn't cost effective.
Always a good day when Stephen drops a new video!
Thanks so much!! Always a good day when we're chasing in your state! Garden City is probably our favorite town to stay in!
Top notch editing and style. You deserve so much more love from youtube than you get, its so unfair.
It's ok, in some past life I was a hype beast shitcoin influencer who made low effort Dragonballz-LinkinPark mashups with millions of subs. This is my due penance. But no, I'm just happy some folks enjoy these dumb chase videos.
Dude, I can't tell you how excited I was to come home after a long and crappy day just to see your video pop up first thing in my feed on RUclips. Excellent video as always and I'm glad you got to chase something close to your home!
Oh man that means so much! I love a good multi-day vacation chase in exotic locales (like SW Kansas!!!!!!!!), but there is something special about a close-to-home day chase. Especially when you can get as lucky as the Las Vegas day.
Love it. Also where is everybody?
Thanks as always hvf!!! You ready for 2024 season yet? Can't believe it's already right on the doorstep.
Dang, very nice!
Come out some spring and join us for a chase!!!
Your videos are Hollywood level productions with unique flair, and they all tell stories. You’re probably the most underrated chaser on YT out there. As always, fantastic stuff
What kinda no-budget indie movies are you watching??? :) :) Seriously can't thank you enough for your generosity using your footage from the Las Vegas day. In the mythos of New Mexico tornadoes, it's hard to name a more iconic shot than yours. Dora 1 and 2 are up there, but man your timelapse with the occlusion cut into the updraft column is so killer.
Nice video!! 👍👍
Your creative writing, story-telling, videography, and editing is truly unparalleled. No other weather-based content creator, storm chaser, etc. comes close. Hope you and the lady are doing well getting through this winter Stephen!
Thanks Hunter, your comments are always so encouraging. However, in this case I cannot take any credit for this information. I am simply a humble messenger trying to get out this important message to the public who deserves to know - despite a concerted cover-up effort by the WCB.
I completely understand, the state of your confidential research and operations are *safe* with me!@@StephenStormLog
Can you do the one that produced the Philadelphia, MS EF-5, Sipsey EF-4, Rainsville EF-5, and the Ringgold, GA EF-4?
What are the resources
Probably a combination of corn, wheat, and nuclear missile silos.
It’s a bloody good day when Stephen Henry uploads new storm stuff! Thank you Sir 🙏
That timed radar was so incredibly satisfying!
Possibly the dorkiest editing decision ever :)
There are storm chasing videos, and then there's art. Loved it again. And y'all made the right call on The Beach Boys vs The Doors.
Lol thanks so much Clay. Yea it was never a contest, Beach Boys all the way :)
Needless to say, that was wonderful!
Thanks so much as always!!! 🐉🐉🐉
Nice!!
Many thanks!
OMG!!!!!
Much appreciate Lucas :)
Can't believe you don't have more views! Those videos are genius each and everytime! Keep em coming please!
Aww man thanks so much. And you better believe ChroChao has long been a regular staple on our TV!
@@StephenStormLog It's an honor to be on your TV, thanks! Hope we can meet in the field one day!
Could’ve used your field operations at b e n k e l m a n
Excellent point, my theory is WCB considered b e n k e l m a n and h a y s to be lower tier and less public risk that day. As a cost cutting factor they deployed only a single team, which wouldn't have been possible if they were also targeting the other 2 tornadoes that day.
Thank you for releasing this. I cannot believe it, you could never tell that these are disguised agents! Wow!
Their uniforms were absolutely indistinguishable from standard issue Storm Prediction Center garb - to the point where you have to wonder... inside job??
real.
Very much so. No way those graphics could have been faked.
This is hilarious lmao
No, this is deadly serious and has major implications to our way of life as Americans and as storm chasers. I could not sit idly by.
@@StephenStormLogdude, Norway!

Beautiful video once again! Keep them coming :)
As long as there are storms and I can get out there to chase them - will do! Thanks so much.
Fantastic video sir! I really do hope that your videos make it really BIG someday. These are some of the greatest storm chase videos out there. Keep up the awesome videos!!!!
Any new videos for this year? Love your channel the content is suburb! Can’t believe you don’t get more views
Haha thanks so much cj! I promise I have more videos coming out!! I just checked and I have 1.2 terabytes of timelapse and video from the 2022 and 2023 seasons that are just barely looked at. I'm actually still just trying to finish 2021 - about 1/3 finished with the next video at this point!
I really love the fact that Daniel Shaw shows up in this video. Truly awesome and keep chasing on my friend.
Truly a chaser yahoo and I'm not afraid if he hears this!! :) :)
@@StephenStormLog LOL 😆. True!
You gotten out yet so far this season Stephen?
We have! Once on February 26 (earliest chase ever) and once on April 4th - caught a nice rope tornado near Pleasantville, IA. Man it's gonna be years before I catch up to that video isn't it.
@@StephenStormLog Nice to hear you caught that Pleasantville tor. I’ve been watching some of your old chase videos and It got me wondering, do you have an alltime favorite chase/tornado? I’d imagine Wray and Rozel have gotta be waaayyy up there, I would kill to see one of those in person
@@variant1 Oh man tough question, but yea you probably nailed the top 2. The Wray experience may never happen again in my lifetime. We got to sit in one spot for nearly an hour, hardly any precip, watching this amazing supercell move in and drop spinups, and then have the main tornado pass half a mile to our east. Luckiest dang day of my life.
Great video!! 👍👍
Yea. But it's water droplets lived to go around the planet a few times then restarted another supercell in 2013.
I wonder which singular water molecule has been in the most tornadoes over earth's history. Lucky H2O.
i cant believe that the Tuscaloosa supercell was the same cell that produced an EF3 over my county in north ga. that's insane
After chasing the northwest SD target the previous day, our group of undergrads had no choice but to call it a night in Hot Springs. We left for the rough triple point (which you exquisitely animated at 1:15) around 9:45AM and made it into northeast Colorado around 2PM or so. After what felt like driving in fog for ages, we arrived at the "point of (no?) commitment" beneath the I-70 interchange in Goodland -- do we continue south toward Leoti-Lakin (where multiple TORs have already been issued and play the dryline later?) or scoot east and stay along the vorticity-rich retreating outflow boundary near the triple point where said TORs were congealing? We graciously lucked out on the 50/50, but moral of the story is, had we left earlier, we likely would've been baited further south...or at least the temptation would've been much easier to accept. Leaving late does have its perks, sometimes. (-: Love the video man, the variety of music, editing, time-lapses, and use of cameos...all around phenomenal, again!
Thanks so much Hunter!! Yep I've definitely been in the lucky position of being out of position - every so often that works :) So glad yall were able to catch Selden. I still kick myself for noting how nice the pre-Selden towers looked, and then continuing to drive south anyway. I totally lost awareness where the boundary was as the afternoon progressed. Oh well, plenty to learn for the upcoming season, and plenty of new mistakes to make :)
The intricate editing and detail you add always amuses me man...top notch video as always! We were missing you up in northwest SD this day😞
Thanks Hunter! Did yall have more luck than we did up in SD?
Awesome vid, I was initially on the selden storm and went south... oops.
Ouch. We saw the Selden towers going up but I was sure they'd be north of the boundary and only a fool would stay that far north. As you said.... ooops! Only thing left to do is make fun of ourselves.
Dude, still to this day........ I love this video. Nothing will ever change that. Keep 'em coming, and I'll keep on watching them 😊
Lol thanks 91RT! What if I added a bunch of pointless TWWB memes, like "I! DRINK! YOUR! MLCAPE!!!" Would that change your mind!? :) :)
@@StephenStormLog LOL 😂, NOPE! I'd probably watch your videos nonstop 🤣
Great video! Genious!
Thank so much!!!
Great video. I like your creative twists to storm chasing videos haha.
Thanks tekjess! Gotta do something to ease the pain of these poorly-chased days. Unfortunately I'm sure there are many more in my future!
@@StephenStormLog but there will be many more great chase days in the future as well!
@@tekjess_ haha that's the spirit!
Ah, to be able to split myself in two so I could chase THAT OTHER TARGET. Instead my mutant ability is to automatically pick the worst supermarket checkout line out of any number of possible options. Great video as always. Zach's storm face at 4:00 made me laugh.
Hey Bill! I also share your supermarket ability - to the point where I now try to choose the one I think looks worst, and even that backfires. We're you down south this day too? If so, I'm so sorry and I hope you get to make a Zach-Braff-on-ecstasy-looking-at-storms face soon!
I feel you. Heather asks me which line we should join, then purposely picks another one. Didn't get to chase much in 2021; work completely buried me. I was out chasing on the 8th and 21st of May and that was about it. I tried another chase in early June but I was so tired and out of it I decided it was too dangerous to chase alone and turned around (pansy mode!)
Incredible work as always!!
Many thanks Andrew!
Freaking Brilliant!! Loved the cameo as well.
Thanks so much! Skip is the best!
I felt this to my core. I hate that day so much lol fantastic vid. Lost it at “panzy mode activated” - StormTrack lmao
Man I heard about so many people almost getting stuck in mud north of Leoti - I was scared to death to leave concrete! Thanks so much Adam - and sorry for your loss this day! :)
great video love the Skip Talbot narration! lol
Right? Skip was the perfect Easter Egg - despite the cruelty of asking him to relive his own similar bust that day. Thanks Danny!
