Easy Cheap Tesla Model X Creaking Fix | Netfix Maintenance
Let’s go, Netfix and Build.
One hell of a nice repair here on the darn Teslas. It won’t give you any permanent fix but sure will keep some money in that pocket for a little longer.
These upper control arms are seriously pricey.
With only 30 minutes to work your BJ around and not have to listen to that creaking noise. Sooooo worth it. Even by adding grease through a pin hole in the boot if necessary gives more life then not.
Hope this allows you to get some more life out of those upper control arms while giving you some peace and quite from this creaking noises that happen on acceleration, braking Corning and hitting bumps.
SWEET RELEIF
Thanks for watching, keep on Netfix and building.

Same method for 2022 model as well?
will this work on 2019 eclipse cross?
Does anyone know if it works with the caliper already off the rotor?
That’s very risky, there is a chance it will activate the parking brake and pop out the caliper piston. I would reassemble before trying.
I was replacing brakes pads and rotors on a Mitsubishi that had an electronic parking brake. I put it in maintenance mode and it would not come back out. No matter what any video comment said. The dealership (50 minutes away) and other shops were no help. They wanted to run a diagnostics first. When I called Midas they knew exactly what I was talking about and got it out of maintenance mode even did a diagnostic on my work. Quick and cheap fix! I am so grateful for what they did. No games just fixed the obvious issue.
That’s good 👍🏽
I don’t think there’s supposed to be any play in the ball joint. It’s meant to be rigid, no?
They can be stiff to move when new. There is no play in these ball joints they just move freely and this fixes your creaking noise. But you’re right there should be no play at all or you need new ball joints at that point.
Can a dealership mechanic disable this feature you are showing so the DIY’er cannot put into service mode.
I do not know the answer to that. I’d like to think they shouldn’t be able to but realistically they probably could disable it somehow with programming.
Awesome 😮
👌
Tried this over and over, doesn’t work on mine. After the “Hold” sequence there is no sound from the motors.
Make sure to push the parking brake Dutton down after the hold button press 10x. I was having problems for so long trying to get the sequence perfect. 1 step not in this exact order will cause it to not work. The steps need to be performed identical to the video. The description may help clarify too. Hope this helps.
I found that it might take a couple tries. Varying is speed every time you do it. Seems like there’s a sweet spot for getting it down.
Thank you guys, I gave up and purchased a scanner on sale that reset the EBS . No further issues since except for the notorious “Digitizer” screen issue.
@ oh yea lol only the corners work on mine the center is completely dead
What about the one on the back next to the firewall?
I think just the 1/4 inch ratchet gets to it from on top of the engine. Maybe a 1 inch extension or deep socket. I can’t recall 100% but didn’t cause me problems. Good luck.
Is there suppose to be no vibration at all on the coil spring when you rotate the tires if the wheel bearing is good? Asking because I'm having similar problem exhibiting on the front driver like a possible wheel bearing issues but no play when you check it while in the air. But when doing this test, I can feel vibration on both driver and passenger coil spring but only the driver side is giving me that dragging/resistant feel when accelerating while the passenger seems problem free.
Yah there shouldn’t be much vibration at all. Spin a rear wheel and feel the coil. Sometimes if a brake is slightly stuck on you can get a vibration. If you take the caliper off and put the wheel back on that will remove the brake drag from the equation. Shouldn’t feel nothing on the coil.
@Netfixandbuild got it. Thank you sir. Will try that.
Well you should have like 8 million likes because I can't find anything on this on the 2022 except for you I hope this goes viral for you and gives you your own business or some shit
Thanks 🙏 happy we could help. One hell of a precise sequence that is very hard to get exactly right.
Hey.. did you work for your 2022 outlander exactly as he said? I get to the ebrakes blinking red with the yellow light on part but when i do the next steps of pressing auto hold 10 times and release the parking brake, it does not put into service mode.. did you do anything different for your 2022 outlander?
Can you also confirm the msg you get on your screen?
Is there a bearing or bushing for the rear? Cant find any info about servicing the rear Airlift Performance struts.
I believe that there is one, I don’t know off the top oof my head to be certain.
How do you replace it?
You’ll need to pull the door panel off it. I would check the wiring between the door and the body first.
Does this work for 2022? Also, do i need the rear tires off the ground?
From other comments it looks like it does work for 2022 aswell. Wheels can still be on to put it into service mode but you will need to jack it up if you’re replacing any parts.
Did it work for you?
Jesus help me.thought I was gonna replace my coolant o rings tonight in my garage with a good ole RUclips video...looks like I’ll be waiting to take it to a shop instead -_-
i love this guy i know the filling of huohuohuo when done tuff to trun renches thank you for the video you are the men. joe
Happy you enjoy it. 💪🏽
ARE YOU FREAKEN KIDDING ME!?!?! That's all I needed this whole time.🤬🤬 Imma try this when I get home to final fix my hatch situation 😂
That will just unlock it so you can open it. There could be broken wiring in the hatch jam or bad lock actuator etc.
Any idea if this will work with a 2022 outlander?
Did it work for you?
Does the car have to be level or the engine because my engine and transmission sit at an angle
Just the car needs to be level with the ground.
@@Netfixandbuild ok really appreciate it 👍
@@Netfixandbuildone more question did you ever notice if your transmission sits at an angle too or is it mine that might just have bad mounts? Because I’m still skeptical about mine because of the angle
‼️‼️transmission has to be level grab a level and stick it under the pan and so on continue ‼️ ‼️
you saved me a trip to the mechanic, thanks so much!
That’s awesome we could help you out. Thanks for the feedback.
hi I have an outlander 2018 with push start. how can I get this car in to Service Mode
It won't even turn even a little
Sorry to hear that, I’m not too sure what’s causing that to happen.
White piece just broke
Great video, worked perfectly
Fantastic, thanks for the feedback.👍🏽
The back round music is obnoxious can’t hear you
Thanks for the feedback
I find it crazy that this procedure is not listed on my $5000 scan tool that I have to pay $1000 every year for update for.
Agreed, I think some service manuals may have it, even with the procedure it takes for ever to get it just right for it to actually work.
@@Netfixandbuild I had to do it 5 times befor it worked.
THX man that was very helpful
Glad we could help. Thanks for the comment 😁
THANK YOU FRIEND! I'M FROM UKRAINE AND I HAVE A 2008 CADILLAC СTS 4 3.6 ALL WD, I'M TRYING TO REPLACE ... THE CAR'S REVIEWS ARE ONLY ON THE BEST SIDE... THANK YOU AMERICA! GLORY TO UKRAINE! 🇺🇸🇺🇦
You are welcome. Good luck over there. 💪🏽
Fucking insanity. Why isn't there just a drain plug and a spin-on filter that is the same as the oil filter? OEM's WANT your transmission to fail.
Insanity is true. They are all going this way now. Dumb
My plastic piece won’t turn it’s stuck how do I get my lock to work? I can’t get the door open to fix it we have tried.
Unfortunately I haven’t had that happen to me. Sorry I can’t help.
Any luck?
All you need to do is take the four torx bolts out of the valve itself and replace it with a new one. The bottom part is just a housing. There's nothing that fails with the housing. Super easy and can be done in 5 minutes. When you order a new one, it comes with a new housing, but just take the valve off it.
Thanks for the tip. That would increase times greatly.👍🏽
Will this work on a 2022 outlander?
Sorry I’m not sure if it works.
I have a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander SE and this did not work for me. The vehicle went into service mode with only like 2-3 times of switching it back and forth. Getting it out of service mode did not work per the instructions either. Now I'm stuck in maintenance mode with flashing lights saying parking brake service required
Did you ever figure it out? Having the same issue…
@@bigfisher01 it did not work for me. I had to get the code cleared by a mechanic friend.
Thank you so much. It worked like a charm.
That’s awesome, happy to help. Thanks for your feedback. 🙏🏽
Glad to see you uploading again. But BOOO Tesla, if you own a Tesla and want to fix that problem, find a high cliff that's within your battery range, drive to it, make sure nobody is in the car before you exit. The most important step is to ensure there is a clear path for the car to roll its war off the cliff and ensure you leave enough space for yourself to get out so you can smile and enjoy the moment as it drives to it's natural habitat which should be at the bottom of large cliff. If the car makes it off the edge and you start feeling guilty, just remember that Elon Musk promised your Tesla would be fully autonomous by 2020 and if your Tesla drives off a cliff without a driver, then it would do the same with your entire family in the car. So you've basically save the lives of your family and other occupants you may have had in that car so you're basically a hero and should be happy you can go and get a real car that you can drive without worrying about charging it and Elon Musks BS. At this point take an UBER home or local bar and invite your friends to celebrate because you've just fixed your problem of being a Tesla owner. SMILE
Thanks for the comment 😂
Love this, easy fix and free!
How did you get the fill plug out ?
If I remember correctly, I think it’s like a push pin. Pop out the middle and then the whole plug comes out.
I've taken my vehicle to five different people and all of them cannot fix this problem and I'm at a loss 😔... When I go to apply my parking brake and I'm on an incline the light will flash on the dash and the brake itself, when I'm on even ground it works just fine!! Any advice?? I've even taken it to The Mitsubishi dealership and they couldn't fix it.
Sorry I haven’t seen this issue before. Too bad the dealership can’t figure this out. If I come across the issue I’ll try and give you some feedback back. Thanks for the question.
Theres factory wiring pre installed in the 99/00 civic not sure about 96:98.
May require more switches and harness to be factory style install.
@@Netfixandbuild ordered a set for my 99 and came with harness and factory like switch button. Absolutely plug and play. Only have to find a couple ground spots.
It happened on my 2016 outlander suddenly in the morning, It was quite cold morning today, I was able to resolve it by removing battery power(Thanks for guidance 😍😍) But question is what could be a reason for this? your further guidance will highly appreciated
Good call to disconnect the battery. Happy that worked for you. What was the message on your dash?
Great video! Very thorough instructions, wish I had a lift but jack stands should do , thank you!!!!!
Thanks for you wonderful comment, hope it works well for you.
This worked good for me until i went to take it out of the service mode.. brakes engage and disengage like they should, but the lights are all still on and flashing as if it was still in the service mode.
Interesting it seems like this is common. I have not yet seen it myself so I’m sorry I can’t help with that. Does your parking brake currently work?
Great video,I just done mind today 2008 CTS 81,155 miles. Got it at 63,958 miles one owner
That’s awesome, I love mine.
Amazing information thank you for sharing. Unfortunately the info on Mitsubishi Outlander maintenance is so thin on the internet for some reason, you just saved my A**.
Awesome news, thanks for the feedback. 👍🏽
What if this doesn’t work? Any idea on what to do next?
Hmmm must be the linkage from your handle that’s not pulling on the latch. There may be a lever you can pry some way. I’m not too sure. Hope this helps. Good luck
@kays.way_ did you find a way to open it? I try the plastic knob and it seems to be stuck as it just turns.
Do not do this 2019 locks into service mode
How did you get it out?
Thank you!!! I was like wtf haplemed to my car lol
Happy it helped 😁
@@Netfixandbuild me too!!!
DO NOT DO THIS, what they don’t tell you is you can’t get out of service mode without going to the dealership or some other shop to use a computer to get you out. I did this and now my car is stuck in this mode and won’t stop beeping. Everything works fine but needs a specific computer to get this code removed and my $350 scan tool won’t work.
Unfortunate to hear, I have performed this procedure at least half a dozen times and never once had an issue going back into normal mode. Sorry this didn’t work for you.
Wow that white engine bay looks nice
Thanks, the clear coats really helped it pop. 🙏🏽
