Haven’t ridden since 2015-2017, owned a 2015 Yamaha R3 back then as a commuter bike (mainly freeway riding). I now have a longer commute and thinking of which bike to get. There’s a used 2017 Yamaha R3 w ABS that’s going for $3,999 and a 98’ VFR800 for $100 cheaper. Do you think the VFR might be “too much bike” for me as a returner and instead play it safe with the R3 or would you say the VFR with its CBS braking system, excellent performance, and weight distribution should be enough of a safety cushion? I’m mainly concerned about the VFR’s weight if I’m being honest but watching your videos along with others praising Honda’s engineering in making the weight so well distributed, that it hardly makes a difference. Thanks for the help and keep making great VFR content (I’m scrapping all of RUclips for every bit of info I can get. 🤣)

Hi Rocky, sounds like you have a Go Pro fitted to your helmet. Nice video and beautiful scenery. Looks a bit like Canberra area? Excellent bike and great video. I ride a CBF250 at the moment. It does all I need it to do but mate of mine has the late 90's VFR750 which Ive ridden. Absolutely Butter smooth in every area, transmission, motor and handling. Gorgeous machines!

Just sat on a burgman 650 and thought it was a beast. My 15 year old daughter sat pillion and found it very uncomfortable due the 'man spreading' position of her legs. Looking for a bike to get to work whilst dropping her at school.

I own both a Honda GL1800A Goldwing plus a Suzuki Bergman that I just bought. Right off I noticed a harshness in the ride over bumps in the front end. It probably isn't fair to compare to the Wing, but after a few thousand miles on the Bergman now, I really do enjoy it much more than the Wing for day to day use but only on decent roads. I just wish I hadn't been spoiled on the Wing by the plush ride. But I do plan to sell the Wing and at my advanced age of 80, and feel the Bergman is a better overall choice for day to day riding. It really is a vastly underrated bike in all respects...

The Burgman has more class . The Yamaha Looks cheaply made !

I wish I did this to begin with. The 4-2-1 is a nightmare with the emissions. The slip on would make life a lot easier!

Cruise control is unfortunately the start button (Perhaps a little bit confusing, but the symbol is there) Power electric windscreen is there (It was one of the options available from that very far forward hidden button on the left & then once you cycle through the options it'll be the up/down button that was on-top

Motorcycle specific oil feels like a scam in the US a lot of the time. They charge you double the price of a car oil per quart for anything semi synthetic or better. I heard that Shell Rotella T6 (full synth oil for Diesel engines) is JASO MA2 certified...and it turns out it is! I now buy it in 5 quart jugs for cheap because it's not a niche motorcycle only product. Highly recommend.

I had my heart set on a Honda DN-01 automatic bike but I recently read that the ground clearance on that bike is terrible and can't lean it too far in the twisties without scraping the footboards. I googled the Burgman for that reason (a bike I had targeted before the DN-01) and your video came up first in the results. Thanks for posting this video so people like myself can see how far you can lean the Burgman. The twisties is what makes riding a motorcycle/scooter the most fun in my book. Looks like I might have to reassess my want now.

I drive a 2009 Burgman 400 since a year, but it lacks torque and acceleration for me, love everything else. I think I'll try to find a Burgman 650 to see if the torque and acceleration feels better

I still have a 2018 B650. Only has about 25000km on it. Heh. Daily commuter from home to work (in the city) and back again. Gets me thru rush hour traffic easy actually, I just fold up the mirrors, and you can filter easy. You can keep up with the smaller bikes once those mirrors go in. I don't have to get up an hour earlier to drive in or take the subway in. And it's easy to park. And it doesn't toast my thigh like the R1 or FZ1S does. Heh.

The burgman is hard to beat. The only one in the market is better than burgman is Honda forza or xadv 750 due to the dct transmission I think.

According to my Burgman K5 user manual: Use SF/SG or SH/SJ oil with MA!!! according to JASOw API (American Petroleum Institute) classification. I've been using API SN/SM, JASO MA/MA-2, SAE 5W-40 oil for 12 years and both the engine and clutch have performed more than admirably.
