How not to get Hurt when preparing your horse for the first Ride!
I'm hooked. Seeing a masterat work! She is certainly worth the effort. Thank you and best wishes.
Man, that horse got people buffaloed with her snorts, it has worked for her for a long time, so I'm sure it will take a long time to undo.
Some horses don't like men because of experiences before. If you are lucky, you'll get a nice reaction from a woman
Seems this horse has been 'worked' before ( in s not very nice manner ) .
I have a reactive mare and need to teach her to lift her back feet up before the farrier comes. Your technique is what I'm going to try.
Let me know if it works 👍
She's one that is easy to work with
How’s her eyesight ?
Great job, Nate.
That is one gorgeous horse ! Look at the muscle and the coloring and confirmation. Wow. Just WOW ❤️🐴 PS What should be the biggest thing I should watch for while looking at an auction horse ? Thanks
Wow you did fantastic ..she wants to be friends u can see that in her...time and patience will always prevail shes a real beauty ..thankyou for giving her the chance to be loved :)
Absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see the next session with this beautiful mare ❤
I appreciate it 👍
Beautiful reaction to you and I love your approach! You definitely did far more with her than I would have been willing to try with her behavior, but she was so curious about you and it was wonderful to see.
Thanks 🙏
@EicherRanch thank you!
Nice horse to look at, I like these types, sturdy, strong buy not massive. But wonder if she is ever gonna be a riding/working trustful horse
Time will tell with the riding part 👍
Thank you for taking on this project. What a sturdy gorgeous mare. Has she been used for bucking???
You’re welcome, we don’t know if she’s bucked, hopefully not
I love how respectful you are with her. My only concern is that you are wearing sunglasses which means she can’t use your eyes to determine if she is safe. I wonder if she would be as reactive if you were not wearing sunglasses.
Thank you, that is definitely an interesting question, I haven’t found that to be an issue when working with horses, as I feel like they watch body language more, but definitely something to think over 👍
@@EicherRanch Thanks for replying. If you do experiment with and without sunglasses, I would love to hear how it goes. I follow a number of horse trainers on RUclips, which is how I heard about it. It had never occurred to me before that. I had no idea how switched on horses are. They notice everything! Keep up the great work.
❤❤❤
🐴🐎🐴🐎
Such an interesting dragon! Looking forward to more videos of her.
Yes she is!
What a job. Dangerous
Sad, but also god you are helping her❤ Its dangerous, with all that built up tension.
👍👍
She looks pretty to me, sturdy too and I think once you can handle her and clean her up, she'll be gorgeous. It's cute how talkative she is with her snortyness 😊 and her ears swivel like a radar station. Does she have a name yet? I'm happy she came to you for learning the basics, looking forward to see her next video and progress 🥰👍
Thank you, yes, I believe her name is Sierra, I believe too she’ll be a neat horse
She has the sweetest kindest eyes and is very curious doesn’t seem at all like she is aggressive she gonna be a great horse
Absolutely 👍
@ funny thing is both our last names are pronounced the same (mine is Eaker)
Beautiful horse
Excellent work.
Thank you
Amazing job Nate!!! Thank you so much for working with her and trying to help her. So grateful!👏👏👏
You’re welcome!
She’s a beautiful girl! Almost reminds me of my Phoenix.
She is a neat mare, like her! ❣️🍀
She definitely is 👍
My BLM mustang is reactive like this. I am very interested to see more.
I love watching you work with horses. Your so gentle
I appreciate it 🙏
I think she'd be an excellent horse before long.
Looks like she likes you...her ears sure are busy! You have her full attention. She always comes toward you a bit.
I've never heard a horse this snorty...I'm not any kind of expert at all just making an innocent comment. She almost sounds like she has a cold...😊...
I like her curiosity and her willingness to watch you before reacting at least - bodes well for her ability to be handled regularly in the future. She sure is pretty!
Me too, she’s got kind eyes as well 👍

What's a bucking bred horse?? What a diabolical notion. That's why rodeo is 👎
Just like a horse’s bred for cutting cattle, or for reining, there are horses specifically bred to be bucking stock and love their job, just like other horses love their jobs
Bucking horses need to be handle-able, just for their own safety. If she was not bucky enough, she could have wound up mishandled, or bred and her colt didnt buck. Personally, I like her. Id probably take a chair and go sit by the fence and read an hour a day, just to let her be curious and have a treat or two. Good luck!
@@RICDirector for sure 👍
Ive been around and ridden similar type horses. One I. Particular ended up a wonderful mount. Never did stop snorting ever. Some folks were scared of him or didn't trust him. I really liked using him. To me it was his way of communicating.
Wow, fantastic lesson. I was confused about one thing, when you said to continue to keep her leg on her/pushing with her leg as she’s asking for the switch, did you mean the inside leg that she was pushing her over with, or the outside leg that she was asking for the lead change with?
Thank you for being so patient with her, and allowing the small focus points! I know full well that too many points at once can kill the thought process and the confidence. This is beautiful to see.
@@fallenstar1129 absolutely 👍
❤❤❤
My gelding, who is a big boy, has some arthritis and is stiff in his front end. He has benefitted so much from bodywork. She is beautiful and a big girl. Great video.
Awesome 👍
It’s amazing how you can make such a difference with such gentle moves. I’m not a rider and will never be due to back injuries but if I could I know you would be the best to teach me. Thank god for giving you the ability to make a difference for horse and rider.
I appreciate the kind words 🙏
Wish he would tell her to use more calf than spurs... Using just her leg would allow the mare to wrap around her leg. She's getting poked repeatedly with sharp spurs. No wonder her mare is defensive and stiff!😢
you're not riding it. he's a super trainer, i doubt he's using his spurs thoughtlessly
Love how you taught the bend/leg brings the focus!
Thank you 👍
Great Vid, a goldmine of info!!!
@@chickinpickin1 I appreciate it!
Had the same problem with my mare. I went from a Bosal to a side pull, and did some correcting on myself> what a game changer. Fast forward 3 month, we are now back in the Bosal and shes now softer in her body and lighter in my hands. Great vid!
Nice 👍
She has a pretty horse❤. She learns fast. Thank you for the trainig video🎉🎉🎉.
She did great 👍
Love that she's bitless. Good rider! Perceptive, open to advice. Love the videos.
👍👍
Just like human kids. Some are book smart (arena) some are street smart (outside arena). Great to expose them to both things. Makes a better safer, smarter more confident horse.
If you want your horse to come down to a trot and you start slowing your body but he doesn’t pay attention, what is the next cue for them to slow down? Is that when you slide your hand down the rope and turn him in to you?
A couple things you can do, you can do a little bit of rhythmic pressure with your rope or you can slide your hand down and as soon as he thinks about slowing down you release and keep him going at the speed you want, It can be different on the horse on what works the best to help them find what you’re looking for!
That’s really helpful, thank you!!
Love this❤
Thanks 🙏
Thanks for the video! "Arena" horses need a lot more exposure to the real world. I hope you bring us back to see him actually working a cow. Is he to be cross-trained in cutting?
You’re welcome! He is cross training from reining to trail horse back to reining
